Portugal have to do better because this is the World Cup and their opposition also will put in their very best. None of these teams come here to dash out points but are here to make sure they're having one of the very best performance and rating. Secondly, we should not underestimate any side simply because of the players, we watched what happened to Spain yesterday, they couldn't get a win against a side that's their first time in the World Cup, Cape Verde. That's to show you the level of efficiency and competitiveness in the World Cup.

Even as it may want to seem like they are not at their very best, i still believe that Portugal will be able to make it passed group stage at least and there is every tendency what you may as well find them in the semi finals but this depends on what the round of 16 may look like. Portugal i believe understands the magnitude of the competition and will likely improve as the competition progresses.

Going by their group, Portugal mostly likely will get passed the group stage with little to no stress, against DR Congo, winning may not be a challenge to them but what I will not make conclusions on is if Ronaldo will be able  to get them that opening goal for the team, he may be the one and it may also be another player because Portugal currently has got  really fantastic players who are doing so well for the team and can be positioned to get the team the opening goal.

Somethings will happen but not exactly as we wanted it, but you can bet sure on that game for Portugal to win and the worse that can happen is for both teams to score.

I hope that Portugal manages to get through their group easily, i hope so because i care a lot about this team, they are definitely the best team that can reach the final, but not only for Cristiano Ronaldo, who is a legend, but also for the boys who are in the team, they are really very strong, i expect a lot from them.

I hope so too, but we have to look at this more deeply, because competition is very fierce, there are so many teams with players who perform exceptionally well. As i write this, Portugal is playing against the Congo, the first half has ended with a 1-1 tie. From what i’ve seen of the match so far, i have to admit that the Congo defense is incredibly tight, it’s hard to find an opening to break through. Hopefully, Portugal will manage to score more goals and the match will end in their victory.

The match ended in a draw, and Cristiano Ronaldo, a player followed and supported by many Saudi Arabian fans, failed to deliver the expected performance. We considered him an important weapon for Portugal, but it seems he's had a poor start to the tournament this year. Hopefully, he can prove himself and score goals in the remaining two matches.

This has had a positive impact, as even though they are enemies rather than friends in the Saudi Arabian league, but the Saudi Arabian national team is remarkably compact and has excellent chemistry. With this in mind, I think Saudi Arabia will likely advance to the next round. Spain is currently the only country that will be a major obstacle for Saudi Arabia. So if Saudi Arabia can beat Spain,, I think it's clear that Saudi Arabia will definitely qualify for the next round.

Even though Spain failed to beat Curaçao thanks to their goalkeeper, Saudi Arabia is unlikely to beat the Spanish national team and at best they will finish with a draw if they can maintain a good defence line.
Now what's important for Saudis is to not fall in the same trap of Curaçao and try to pick a goal from them. I suppose Saudi Arabia and Uruguay management are studying hardly the game of Spain to take lessons from the reasons of failure there.
Yes,, if you think about it more deeply, it's true that Saudi Arabia's chances of winning against Spain are very low. Spain certainly doesn't want to lose their chance to advance to the next round, so they'll definitely play better to get the full points in the upcoming match. However,, that doesn't rule out the possibility that Spain will also struggle against Saudi Arabia,, as it seems like all the teams in this World Cup are performing very well, including Saudi Arabia.

Therefore,, I'm not too sure whether Spain can beat Saudi Arabia easily. Essentially,, Saudi Arabia also has excellent performance if they can play more calmly. So,, that's why I'm really looking forward to the match between Saudi Arabia and Spain. It's sure to be a thrilling match. However, I agree with you that Saudi Arabia absolutely must win the match against Verde. Winning this match would clearly be a significant advantage.

One thing for sure is that Saudi Arabia will not want to sit back, they will want to play their own football and that might be the problem for them. We saw how cape varde sat back and defended the whole game, they frustrated Spain. On the other hand Spain are now in desperately need of a win, they need get their first win of the tournament.

I know Spain against Saudi Arabia will be a very interesting game, it a game we are going to see goals, I think lot of goals. As for me I will give the win to Spain, i see them getting their first win of the tournament against Saudi Arabia.

I don't think it's necessary to go too far now, Spain is clearly stronger than these other national teams like Cape Verde or Saudi Arabia, i don't think they'll have any problems starting to get serious, that's for sure, even if there was a false start i don't think there's a chance of finishing them off.

Yeah, well it was already known that Cristiano Ronaldo wasn't in top form, not at world cup levels. While I did expected him to be fine against Congo because Congo is not renowned for a great national team in world cups, he was not expected to be great anyways, not in this case at least, not here.

He is playing at Saudi league for a reason and not top European clubs, because dude got old, and the reason was never money, he could have gone to Saudi league for money a lot earlier, five years ago, and would have still made this money. He went there because he lost his talent to be a top European club player, and this means for world cup levels he is no longer at that level and this was obvious to anyone who is not a big Ronaldo fan.

It is very natural that at his current age there must be a decline in his abilities but that does not mean he does not deserve to be in the world cup he still has good stamina and can still be fully relied upon if Ronaldo does not participate in the world cup I am not sure Portugal will be able to win the world cup title, while Ronaldo will make the game feel alive he can also give enthusiasm to other players to work hard to achieve their goals until the end, Portugal will feel ordinary without Ronaldo.

I believe that it is necessary for these teams to field players like Ronaldo or Messi as much as possible, who are incredibly the strongest players of the last decades, and with their charisma and their play they can practically change a match, even if their age is no longer that of a twenty-year-old.

This is just one game, maybe we should not judge Portugal as a team, or Ronaldo as a player based on just a single game. Look at Spain, the team that was given first place odds by many places, mostly considered biggest candidate to win, ended up getting a draw against the weakest team of the cup, or maybe one of the weakest ones.

So not like we are going to see Spain fail for the rest of the cup, of course they will do better, and same could be said about Portugal, yes they failed one game, but could be better next games.

Next round in Group H could be interesting because Spain wants to fight back while Uruguay will be play with completely different approach they will try to have win against Cape Verde while Saudi Arab done good job in first game but second could be completely different this will give chance to both sides having better results.

Saudi Arab needs to be have strategy which allow them to keep themselves on good level because draw will be big boost for them while Spain will be in hot waters but right now all predictions are too early all teams will be done their work better now they have no enough chance to stay on this same level Saudi Arab performance in first round was impressive.

I believe that after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal will do badly.
let's be clear, we can say that he is the one who drives the team, otherwise there are no players worthy of note.

I'm a bit sorry, but unfortunately for some teams it's the same as when they told me about Nedvedo or the strong Croatian players.
Once the champion doesn't play the team does nothing.

It is whether that or the national football federation should bring a top coach to build a well mentally connected team and physically fit in order to play solidly and stay as challenging as having many top players.
Cristiano Ronaldo absence in Manchester United or Real Madrid didn't make totally failure teams. They might dropped bad in quality but it was mostly due to many mistakes done by the management or limitations imposed by owners.
Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr might be a success story and the same goes for Portugal but his absence should in no way lower the performance of any team.

Saudi Arabia has certainly made great strides in recent years.
however, let's remember that he is playing against Spain, not just any team. They definitely have a few more chances than in the past but i really don't think they are at the level of Spain.

Surprises always increase the beauty of the World Cup because here no one knows how things will work. Currently, first-round games are still underway, with many teams facing humiliation, like Spain, Portugal, and Brazil. They are now going to be more fierce in the second round because they need more points and improved performance.

Ronaldo never been on good level in World Cup this bring big setback to his team and their chances for winning World Cup but still they have enough time to fightback and give their best Messi's hat-trick is current talk of this World Cup but sadly Ronaldy have worst start now can he do better against other teams it's going to be challenging for him and Portugal.

As a result of the competitive nature of the Saudi professional league and the exposure of the Saudi Arabia players who constantly come across the foreign nationals who play in the Saudi league, I think such Proximity would have had a positive effect on the Saudi national team players, it's already evident in the way the Saudi team are playing in this World Cup especially in their opening game against Uruguay, and am sure they would possibly be a threat to the Spanish side and perhaps make it through to the next round.

I am very disappointed to see Portugal's performance against Congo. I thought that Portugal could win this World Cup and they have a lot of good players in their team. But I am worried and disappointed by the performance that Portugal has done against Congo. If they cannot improve their performance, then maybe the upcoming matches will be bad for them. Hopefully, we will see a lot of improvement in Portugal's performance in the upcoming matches and they will compete hard with all the teams.

Yes. The first match can't be a benchmark for failure in the World Cup, whether against Spain or Portugal. This applies to all teams. At the World Cup in Qatar, where Argentina won the trophy, they also suffered a defeat in their first match against a weak team Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia can be considered weak because, before the SPL became as competitive as it is now they often became a goal barn for their opponents. But since Ronaldo moved to the SPL many European players have wanted to play in the SPL making the SPL more competitive. This has led to the Saudi Arabian national team starting to experience improvements. This is evident in the current World Cup, where they managed to hold Uruguay to a draw in their first match.

So, back to the problem. The first match can't be used as a benchmark for ignoring Spain and Portugal in this World Cup. In fact, losing points in the first match will be a point of evaluation for the following matches. But there's one thing that surprised me about Martinez decision to not play Felix against Congo. Joe Felix was very productive in Al Anssr. Martinez should have brought him on in the second half, especially since Ronaldo and Felix playing together in Al Nassr would have greatly helped Portugal front line in scoring goals because the two players have strong chemistry, this is evident when they both play together in Al Nassr.

No doubt there is still plenty of time for Portugal to have their performance back on top against Uzbekistan and Colombia in this group. Uzbekistan is the weakest side, while others have a good chance of keeping themselves for the knockout round.

Portugal will entertain Uzbekistan in the coming game, and this will allow them to have their rhythm back, which will help them have a good result. Ronaldo has never been a good player in the World Cup, but still they are having him in the squad due to his experience and fitness, but they needed to use him for one half or less time because this will allow other players to give their best and increase their confidence. Staying on the pitch for 90 minutes is surely not good for both Portugal and Ronaldo.

Saudi Arabia never was a good national team, they won nothing so far, and expecting them to suddenly be good enough to get out of the groups and do fine is not realistic, and trying to not lose against Spain is even bigger expectation from them. Let's just be real, they are simply not good enough and we are going to see them fail.

However, as a league that's a different story, their league is growing and getting better and there is no doubt about that being wrong, that's actually a good thing, because we are talking about something that would not be all that bad, I think it is clear that we are going to see them not be that bad and do a fine job. For that reason I believe they are fine, and not really focus on the national team, but more into their clubs and league.

I've seen many opinions saying that CR7 isn't at the level he needs to be, that he's lacking this and that, but come on, yesterday we saw Argentina, didn't you notice that Messi wasn't even running? It's because they know where they need to be, they have tremendous vision, they do things that show their teammates that football is easy, they do difficult things and make them look easy, this makes the job of the other players easier, this is what CR7 and Messi do. In CR7's case, I wouldn't be surprised if he scores a few goals now and then. In his debut against Congo, things didn't go CR7's way, because of the other players. It seemed like they didn't come out wanting to play. The way they played was incredible.
