The Portuguese striker has indicated that he might retire from active or competitive football this year. Al Nassr might have started preparing for his departure.
Yes, if I’m not mistaken, Ronaldo once mentioned this after his wedding. That’s why we might be seeing Ronaldo play for the last time this season. Al Nassr is, of course, aware that Ronaldo will be retiring soon. That’s why Al Nassr is now starting to prepare the team without relying on Ronaldo anymore.
It's no longer news that Cristiano Ronaldo will be retiring from football at the end of the current campaign. According to him, he's already planned his life and is now ready to move to the next phase of his life. The truth is he'll be greatly missed, especially his fans who has enjoyed over 2 decades of watching him plsy professional football. That will surely be a very emotional moment but until then, we'll continue to enjoy him play football.
Of course, when Ronaldo announces his retirement, fans will surely miss him, some might even shed a tear. So, while we still have the chance, let’s watch Ronaldo’s final appearances on the field through the end of this season. I hope that after he retires, Ronaldo won’t walk away from soccer entirely, I’d like to see him become a coach, just like many other retired players have done.
In my opinion, he can't detach himself from football. Because he's a footballer who was born and raised with football. He became a symbol of hard work and determination in football. That's why I think he can continue his struggle and take his place as a coach, first in Saudi Arabia and then in Europe. Of course, there's no guarantee that good players will become good coaches. We see that. However, Ronaldo's tactical explanations are already something we can see in the game for Al Nassr. He's trying to guide the players and put them in positions. Now that he's in his final years, he's about to embark on a life transitioning from playing to coaching.

Judging by reports circulating that Ronaldo is set to retire after this season, it seems unlikely that his dream of scoring 1,000 goals will come true. This is because his only opportunity to continue adding to his goal tally is with Al Nassr, since he has already announced his retirement from the Portuguese national team. So, with 977 goals to his name right now, will Ronaldo be able to score another 23 goals by the end of this season to reach 1,000? It seems unlikely, given his advancing age. If the reports that Ronaldo will retire at the end of this season are true, then I predict he’ll end his career with just 990 goals.
It seems to me that Ronaldo will not retire until he reaches the 1000th goal in his personal career. I have not found any truth in what you said about Ronaldo's retirement from the Portuguese national team. This means that he can still play for the national team for several seasons. It would be reasonable for him to continue playing because he is still scoring goals, he is physically fit and has not had many injury problems.

He scored 28 goals in 30 matches for Al-Nassr last season and 25 goals the season before that. Considering his past statistics and his performance, he will be able to reach the 1000th goal this season.

Well, CR7 has always proven to be a complete player. In fact, if he needs to score 23 goals, CR7's morale is very high. I know that age takes its toll in many areas, skill, stamina, speed but I think he will do it. Furthermore, I believe he won't retire until he plays for Portugal with his son.

Al Nassr is just one team that could make the difference. Likewise, I think CR7 will retire playing for Sporting Lisbon, because he's always said something like that.

Ronaldo already confirmed that the 2026 FIFA world cup was his last dance, but he hasn't officially announced his retirement from the national team and it's possible that he might be hungry to "create a record" of the first player to ever particular in active football with his biological son in the same national team. I don't know how that contributes to his supposed 1000 goal record but it's unlikely that he can score 23 goals before the end of this season.

He failed to win the WC, failed to seal his career with another ballon d'Or, failed to reach his own goal limits. I'm wondering how pissed his fans will be.  Cheesy

Al Nassr have no choice than to make things work in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo because they don't just want to get too attached with the player. This is a solid project Al Nassr are trying to build and this time they're not doing it round Ronaldo because they've learned to face realities and know that one day, Ronaldo will retire and what will happen next? Who will carry the team on his shoulders? Who's going to do it just like Cristiano Ronaldo?

Ronaldo for Al Nassr is a beast, I'm not taking or talking down on Ronaldo because he always have his way of making things work in his favour, Ronaldo is so hardworking and have become very advanced with his footings on the pitch.
Of course Al Nassr must find a way to play even without Cristiano Ronaldo, they are doing it and they have good players. Of course having Cristiano Ronaldo on the pitch is a completely different thing, but they have to think about it and look for another method. Cristiano Ronaldo is not discussed but he is also of a certain age, so it is normal to also think about the aftermath without Cristiano Ronaldo.
Anyway they should focus on buying players who can fill the void of Cristiano Ronaldo and this could make this team even stronger. At the moment, Cristiano Ronaldo seems to be hinting that he will retire but we think he will probably retire from the SPL after reaching his 1000th goal milestone, so it is clear that the Portuguese player will be able to play for Al Nassr next season.
Not only in terms of age but also in terms of achievements, Cristiano Ronaldo has almost all the achievements except the World Cup. Now he only has to meet his goal of 1000 goals. He is not far from achieving that goal. Since it is a new season, I think he will be able to score the remaining goals this season. Al Nassr should start looking for a new striker now. Because I think 1 season is not a long time. But it is not easy to find a new rising striker at the end of the season, so the club should start looking now. And if you find a young, new and talented player, offer him. Those who plan well in advance will definitely be able to move forward according to their expectation. Since he has the opportunity to play until 2027, he will be able to play another season with Al-Nassr.
The new season of SPL has just started and you should note that the current champion Al Nassr has only played two matches this season so they will have to participate in 32 more batches this season. If the Portuguese iconic player Cristiano Ronaldo can participate in those matches then I think he will be able to touch his 1000 goal milestone in the current SPL season. At this stage you are right Cristiano Ronaldo has almost all the achievements except the FIFA World Cup and this player has managed to win five Ballon d'Ors.

Moreover Al Nassr is currently in great form as they are at the top of the points table by winning two consecutive matches, but as we see it in the next match of Al Nassr they will face Al Ettifaq, one of the strongest teams in the Saudi Pro League. If Cristiano Ronaldo can score in the match tomorrow then maybe he will be able to take a step forward in touching his milestone.

This will be a good decision for Ronaldo. I think a good player can be a good coach. Ronaldo is a world-class forward. He knows very well what position a player needs to be to finish as a forward. And he knows very well where to pass the ball to the midfield, what kind of tactics to use to stop a strong striker. Because he has directly encountered all those situations on the field. If he uses all these years of experience in life, he will definitely be a good coach. Ronaldo has been captain for a long time, and he leads very well on the field as we all know. He will continue in this way. I would definitely support such a decision at the end of a prominent player's career.

If the reports that Ronaldo will retire at the end of this season are true, then I predict he’ll end his career with just 990 goals.

After the World Cup ended, he also gave a hint that he would retire from the national team and a few days ago at a press conference, he also hinted that he would retire this season. It's very rare for Ronaldo to give hints about his retirement in the past if reporters asked about his future, he would always say he wanted to keep playing football. But now he’s starting to realize that his age no longer supports him. So most likely, he will retire this season.

In the match against Al Riyad, Ronaldo came on in the 62nd minute and scored a goal in the 83rd minute, bringing his career total to 977 goals, which means he only needs 23 more goals. If you look at it, he’s just 23 goals away from reaching 1,000 career goals. I think he can make that history before retiring. Especially if you notice Ronaldo's performance lately after getting married and changing his hairstyle, his gameplay has also improved. Although he started on the bench against Al Riyad, in that match he made a lot of impressive tricks and even scored a very amazing goal. I haven’t seen him score like that in a long time. So I’m still confident he will be able to reach 1,000 goals by the end of the season, especially since Ronaldo now has full support from his teammates and coach to achieve the record he wants.

In a video, I saw Cristiano Ronaldo say that he would never become a coach but might become a club owner. it seems like he wants to be on a higher level than just being a coach. Although, actually, he’d be great as a coach because we know he’s a hard worker and already understands soccer and the various tactics he could pass on to the next generation. But it doesn’t seem like that’s the path he’ll choose.

(sourch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvY8qfnHAgY&t=3s)

In fact, it seems he wants to focus more on his family and business. perhaps he also wants to maintain his reputation in the world of soccer. After all, sometimes a soccer legend can face harsh criticism if he fails as a coach.

At this age, his biggest enemy is injury, if he does not suffer from that injury, then there is a big chance of touching the milestone of 1000 goals. But if somehow he goes off the field due to injury, then it may not be an easy task for him to touch this milestone. Only 23 goals are needed, he will get the opportunity to play more than 40 matches this season. Now the big question is whether he can use that opportunity? If he finds his form, 23 goals may not be a difficult task, but due to increasing age, the risk of lack of form and injury remains.

Does anyone find the odds for today's Al Ittihad vs. Al Nassr game a bit odd? Here's how the bookmakers are currently viewing the game:

8.40 - 6.00 - 1.29

It is clear that Al Nassr is the favorite, but Al Ittihad are the champions of 2025, and last season they took 5th place, which is also not bad. And today they're playing at home. I don't follow what's happening deep in the Saudi League standings, but betting on Al Nassr here seems highly questionable.  It's more profitable to take Al Ittihad Double Chance or wait for good live odds and bet on Al Nassr.

@KTChampions, It’s not Al Ittihad, but the team acting as the home team that Al Nassr will face is Al-Ettifaq, which, as far as I know, has never won the Saudi Pro League.
Correct me if I’m wrong.

The odds listed above—8.40, 6.00, and 1.29—are for Al-Ettifaq, a draw, and Al Nassr, respectively. It’s reasonable and expected for the bookmaker to set these odds and make Al Nassr the favorite to win the match.
But looking at the head-to-head record between Al-Ettifaq and Al Nassr, Al Nassr has lost while playing at home, and Al-Ettifaq has held Al Nassr to a draw. Both of those results occurred in 2025.

You're right, I've already started digging deeper and saw that Ittihad is playing in the third round with Al Fateh.
Oh those names Al and "itty/etti"  Cheesy I was still half-asleep when I started studying the quotes and was surprised, but I had simply mixed up the names.
By the way, Al Ettifaq has consistently finished the season in 7th place (for the last two years) and it seems that they are not so weak, but the fact is that the difference between the top clubs of the SPL and the rest is too big, the results of last season are more of a fluctuation.
But I will still wait for live odds, or if Ronaldo is in the lineup, I will place a bet before the game that he will score.

I’m not surprised at all. Al-Ittihad really isn’t as strong as it was two seasons ago. in fact, last season they actually struggled just to climb back up to 5th place, since they had dropped to a lower position. Still, Al-Ittihad is by no means a weak team, even though, well, they can no longer be expected to compete for the championship. This team has already received two red cards in just three matches this season. And in my opinion, Al-Ittihad’s defense isn’t solid enough. As a result they’ll have a hard time holding off Al-Nassr’s attacks.

Today, Al-Nassr will face Al-Ettifaq who are just as tough. but it looks like Al-Nassr will come out on top in this match.

Al Ittihad really struggled last season, they finished in the 5th position with 55 points. I expected to see them at the same level with Al Nassr and Al Hilal, since they were the defending champions in last two sessions. In Al ittihad opening match against Al-Kholood Club, I thought Al ittihad would defeat them but they played to a draw. Their main problem is from defense as you said, and they need to improve it fast since the season is still fresh. If they delay about it, I don't think I will consider them among the champions this season again.

Al Ittifaq is a big team in this league and their match with Al Nassr is always challenging but I believe Al Nassr will find a way to get the hree points in this match.

It seems like you're not focused bros, there is no game between Ittihad & Nassr today. I'm convinced that the odds you are seeing are for the Ittifaq & Nassr. If we really look at the odds as you say, I'm sure most gamblers will make a safe bet on Ittihad. However, it cannot be like that. Grin

Ronaldo is in the starting lineup, it would seem like an easy bet him to score, but the odds are too low:

Cristiano Ronaldo - 1.44
Joao Felix - 1.80

I don't want to risk it for 44%, especially live, since he might not play the entire game and be substituted around the 60th minute. Betting on Felix seems more reasonable.
But as I already wrote, it’s best to wait for a good opportunity to place a live bet, who knows how the game will go from start/in first half.

I think the only thing that fuels Ronaldo's spirit on the pitch right now is his crazy obsession with hitting a 1000 career goals record and as it stands, he needs less than 30 goals to achieve that. Knowing how committed and dedicated he is by nature, he will not walk away when he is so close to hitting that milestone. I feel he will lose a lot of interest in playing on the pitch once he gets that record, regardless of the club. But let me not be too sure because we are talking about CR7!! That guy is just addicted to playing football and he doesn't know how to quit.

Being a club owner is also a good thing for him because his wealth will increase the more and he wouldn't be stressing too much coordinating players but however we are going to miss him because by owning a club also means that he would no longer be the regular player we see all the time because it would become difficult to see him on the pitch all the time as before and that was the reason why I wanted him as a coach but meanwhile you could also be right because owning a club would allow him to be with his family all the time so is also a good decision and i belive he would own a club that would become one of the strong ones.

It wasn't my fault that I didn't read the replies below, I don't mean to lecture you, but wouldn't it be better to edit the post I quoted before to include a clarification? Otherwise, I think you'll end up got notifications for further replies to that post. Okay, don't view this as a problem bros, I'm just making a post that I think is good.

Al Nassr and Al Ettifaq have participated in the third match of the new season of the Saudi Professional League, but I think the current champion team may have a chance of losing this match. Bento received a red card 12 minutes into the match, as a result it appears Al Nassr has become a 10-member team.

At that point Al Ettifaq had already scored two goal, meaning they were leading 2-0. The 2025/26 SPL champions have fielded their best XI to win three consecutive matches and we see that their attack is led by former Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal player Joao Felix. Al Nassr are desperate to score and despite a great counterattack by their player Kinsley Coman, they were unable to score, but it seems that Al Nassr will play more aggressive football after the break against Al Ettifaq.
