After all the issues Everton had with points deductions at the hands of the Premier League and with trying to fight of relegation as a results of losing 10 points, it will be a stunning season for them if they won the FA Cup. It took them a replay to get past Crystal Palace and it is early at the moment, they are not favourites but as long as they are involved they will have a chance.
I will post all 3rd round results and 4th round fixtures later.
Everton is in next round, after beating Crystal Palace last night, great goal by Gomes
wasn't easy, and interesting statistics feat - both teams had 11 shots overall, 5 on target, 51/49 possession, so totally equal
Nottingham passed into next round as well, beating Blackpool
Everton is facing Luton on 27.01. in next round, beatable team for sure, but will be more important to win over them in League match in February
These are the 4th Round fixtures being played this evening Friday 26th January:
Bristol City vs Nottingham Forest
Chelsea vs Aston Villa
Sheffield Wednesday vs Coventry City
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City Game of the day had to be Tottenham vs Manchester City followed by Chelsea vs Aston Villa. Both of those games were set to be entertaining. The games are nearly approaching full-time. I will post back with a review of the games and the results when the final whistles have been blown.
These are the 4th Round fixtures being played Saturday 27th January
Ipswich Town vs Maidstone Utd
Everton vs Luton Town
Leeds United vs Plymouth Argyle
Leicester City vs Birmingham City
Sheffield United vs Brighton and Hove Albion
Fulham vs Newcastle United It would be a great day for football and the FA Cup if Maidstone United managed to get a win at Ipswich Town, or get a draw and have the replay at their own ground. Other than that, I would expect Everton, Leeds United, Leicester City, Brighton and Fulham to win their games.
These are the results from the games played yesterday:
Bristol City 0-0 Nottingham Forest
Chelsea 0-0 Aston Villa
Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Coventry City
Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Manchester City
It was a night of missed opportunities in the Chelsea vs Aston Villa game therefore they will have to have a replay at Villa Park but Manchester City grabbed an 88th minute winner to go through to the 5th round.
Here are the results in full for the 4th Round games that took place over the weekend:
Sunday 28th January
West Bromwich Albion 0-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Watford 1-1 Southampton
Liverpool 5-2 Norwich City
Newport County AFC 2-4 Manchester United Saturday 27th January
Ipswich Town 1-2 Maidstone Utd
Everton 1-2 Luton Town
Leeds United 1-1 Plymouth Argyle
Leicester City 3-0 Birmingham City
Sheffield United 2-5 Brighton and Hove Albion
Fulham 0-2 Newcastle United I watched most of the Manchester United game and also saw highlights of the Liverpool game. Manchester United were pushed hard by Newport County and Liverpool were in control throughout their game. Yesterday Everton were knocked. Before that Manchester City knocked out Tottenham. Chelsea and Aston Villa will have a replay after their match ended 0-0 therefore it is too early to make a call about the team that will win the FA Cup.
Having said that, what are the odds on Leicester City winning because they are through to the 5th Round after a comfortable 3-0 win against Birmingham City and are sitting at the top of the Championship and are clearly on course to return to the Premier League.
These are the FA Cup quarter-final fixtures to be played on Saturday 16th March:
Chelsea vs Leicester City
Manchester City vs Newcastle United
Manchester United vs Liverpool
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Coventry City As it stands, most people would probably state Manchester City and Liverpool were favourites to win the trophy. After that there is not much to choose between Chelsea, Newcastle United and Manchester United. Least favourites have to be Leicester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Coventry City.
These are the first two FA Cup quarter-final games being played tomorrow Saturday 16th March 2024:
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Coventry City
Manchester City vs Newcastle United There is a derby between two West Midlands teams. Coventry City are the underdogs but I will hope they will the game. As for the other fixture, Manchester City are clearly favourites but Newcastle United are capable of causing an upset because they have nothing to play for this season and would like to end it with a trophy.
These are the FA Cup quarter-final games taking place tomorrow Sunday 17th March:
Chelsea vs Leicester City
Manchester United vs Liverpool On paper you would have to be confident Chelsea would beat Leicester City. As for the other game, any team could win it but even though Manchester United have home advantage it is Klopp that makes his final appearance at Old Trafford as Liverpool manager therefore they will be motivated too. It should be a good game to watch.
These are the results of the first FA Cup quarter-final games that were played today:
Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-3 Coventry City
Manchester City 2-0 Newcastle United Many would have expected Manchester City to win their game against Newcastle United but the game of the day was between Wolves and Coventry City.
After coming back from a goal down, Wolves took the lead late in the game and it looked like a win for them but Coventry City did not give up and scored two late goals to make it to their first FA Cup semi-final since 1987 and that year they won the competition. What are the chances they will win the competition again in 2024?
Results from the FA Cup quarter-final games played on Sunday 17th March:
Chelsea 4-2 Leicester City
Manchester United 4-3 Liverpool
====================

Leicester City showed why they will probably be returning back to the Premier League next season because they played well against Chelsea. The Chelsea victory was tainted when their fans began to boo Sterling but they won the game 4-2 and will face Manchester City in the semi-final. In the other semi-final, Coventry City will play Manchester United. Both semi-finals will take place at Wembley Stadium.
This is the first FA Cup semi-final taking place today Saturday 20th April:
Manchester City vs ChelseaLast season Manchester City win the treble. Even though they are sitting top of the Premier League, they were knocked out by Real Madrid in the Champions League. I have a feeling Chelsea will win the game today and that would mean Manchester City would have only the Premier League as their only trophy target.
I will not be surprised if Manchester City end up without a trophy this season because I expect Chelsea to knock them out of the FA Cup today and I also expect Liverpool to win the Premier League.
These were the semi-final results:
Sunday 21st April
Coventry City 3-3 Manchester UnitedManchester United win 4-2 on penalties
Saturday 20th April
Manchester City 1-0 Chelsea Th FA Cup final 2024 will take place between the two Manchester clubs just as they did last year. Coventry City came from 0-3 down to score three goals and take the game to extra-time before losing the penalty shoot out. As for Chelsea, they had a lot of chances to score and take a commanding lead before Manchester City scored a fortunate goal.
Manchester City
vs
Manchester UnitedWembley Stadium 25th May 2024This has been a disappointing season for Manchester United as they have had their lowest finish in the Premier League era. Add to that they will miss out on playing in the Champions League next season then it compounds their demise and the blame lay with their manager Ten Hag. He had a good first season but this season he has shown he is not up to the job and there are very strong rumours that he will lose his job after the FA Cup final regardless of the result.
As for Manchester City, they are newly crowned Premier League champions having win four consecutive titles and are also defending FA Cup winners. The final is being played by the same teams as last year and in tat fixture Manchester City beat Manchester United 2-1.
Congratulations to 2024 FA Cup Winners: Manchester United
Manchester City 1-2 Manchester United

Judging by the way the game was played and how Manchester United managed to contain the threat posed by Manchester City, I think it will be difficult for Guardiola and his Manchester City team to comfortably win the Premier League next season. If I were to select a team now, I would have to choose Arsenal but that could change when the season starts.
When they were losing 0-2, Manchester City finally scored a goal as a result of Onana making a mistake with just a few minutes of the game remaining but they were unable to find an equaliser. In the second-half Manchester United themselves nearly scored a third goal on two occasions therefore the momentum changed but Manchester United stepped up to control the game in most parts and deserved their win.
These are the fixtures of the 3rd round of the FA Cup:
Sunday 12th January
Hull City vs Doncaster Rovers
Tamworth vs Tottenham Hotspur
Arsenal vs Manchester United
Crystal Palace vs Stockport Count
Ipswich Town vs Bristol Rovers
Newcastle United vs Bromley
Southampton vs Swansea CityThe standout game has to be Arsenal vs Manchester United. It is the only chance Manchester United have of trying to win a trophy this season therefore they will try to win the game by playing attacking football. Arsenal are in the race to win the Premier League therefore they will be favourites to win the game.
Who agrees?
win: Tottenham, Crystal Palace, Ipswich Town, Newcastle United, Southampton
draw: Hull City, Arsenal

Tamworth 0-3 Tottenham Hotspur After Extra Time
Arsenal 1-1 Manchester United Manchester United win 5-3 on penalties
Crystal Palace 1-0 Stockport Count
Ipswich Town 3-0 Bristol Rovers
Newcastle United 3-1 Bromley
Southampton 3-0 Swansea CityWhat a second half it was. Both teams could have won the game but Manchester United deserved the win even though they played with 10 men for most of the second half. The goal by Fernandes was perfectly placed in the corner but they could not hold on to the lead with Dalot sent off.
