RESULT:

Manchester City 2-1 Manchester United

Manchester City have completed the Premier League and FA Cup double. They are also in the final of the Champions League and if they overcome Inter Milan they will win the treble making them the second team after Manchester United in 1999 to achieve that record.

It seems that Manchester United can't do much so I believe Manchester City can win easily and of course many football fans will support Manchester City's victory.
It is going to be the top English Premier League scorer against the English Premier League winner of most clean sheets kept in all the games played this season. Erling Haaland has scored three goals against Manchester United this season before, a good record for him against today's game and without Martinez for Manchester United in defence, Manchester United have a real task ahead of them in this game if they will win.

I am not supporting Manchester city to win this title, I will prefer Manchester United to win it, but unfortunately my wish may not be enough to stop this Manchester City team that has been excellent from winning this too.

Haaland is the only player who has scored the most goals for Manchester City this season and he even managed to bring Manchester City to become the team to fear in the Premier League.
Manchester City has always played well in 3 leagues this season.

Looks like your choice was wrong because Manchester City managed to beat Manchester United with a score of 2 - 1.
I won the bet this time and it's the many times Manchester City have brought happiness to every bet I've made.
They have won 2 trophies in the Premier League and FA Cup, they are only a few days away from fighting for the Champions League trophy and have 3 trophies in one season.

The score was correct at 2-1 but instead of guessing correctly that Manchester United would win it was Manchester City that won  Grin

I have to congratulate them on the win and on winning the domestic double. Having said that I saw the game and like Inter Milan would not be too worried. I think Inter Milan will win the Champions League final.

Everton is in next round, after beating Crystal Palace last night, great goal by Gomes
wasn't easy, and interesting statistics feat - both teams had 11 shots overall, 5 on target, 51/49 possession, so totally equal

Nottingham passed into next round as well, beating Blackpool

Everton is facing Luton on 27.01. in next round, beatable team for sure, but will be more important to win over them in League match in February

After all the issues Everton had with points deductions at the hands of the Premier League and with trying to fight of relegation as a results of losing 10 points, it will be a stunning season for them if they won the FA Cup. It took them a replay to get past Crystal Palace and it is early at the moment, they are not favourites but as long as they are involved they will have a chance.

I will post all 3rd round results and 4th round fixtures later.

Everton is in next round, after beating Crystal Palace last night, great goal by Gomes

Nottingham passed into next round as well, beating Blackpool

Everton is facing Luton on 27.01. in next round, beatable team for sure, but will be more important to win over them in League match in February

These are the 4th Round fixtures being played this evening Friday 26th January:

Bristol City vs Nottingham Forest
Chelsea vs Aston Villa
Sheffield Wednesday vs Coventry City
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City

Game of the day had to be Tottenham vs Manchester City followed by Chelsea vs Aston Villa. Both of those games were set to be entertaining. The games are nearly approaching full-time. I will post back with a review of the games and the results when the final whistles have been blown.

These are the 4th Round fixtures being played Saturday 27th January

Ipswich Town vs Maidstone Utd
Everton vs Luton Town
Leeds United vs Plymouth Argyle
Leicester City vs Birmingham City
Sheffield United vs Brighton and Hove Albion
Fulham vs Newcastle United

It would be a great day for football and the FA Cup if Maidstone United managed to get a win at Ipswich Town, or get a draw and have the replay at their own ground. Other than that, I would expect Everton, Leeds United, Leicester City, Brighton and Fulham to win their games.

These are the results from the games played yesterday:

Bristol City 0-0 Nottingham Forest
Chelsea 0-0 Aston Villa
Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Coventry City
Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Manchester City

It was a night of missed opportunities in the Chelsea vs Aston Villa game therefore they will have to have a replay at Villa Park but Manchester City grabbed an 88th minute winner to go through to the 5th round.

Here are the results in full for the 4th Round games that took place over the weekend:

Sunday 28th January
West Bromwich Albion 0-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Watford 1-1 Southampton
Liverpool 5-2 Norwich City
Newport County AFC 2-4 Manchester United

Saturday 27th January
Ipswich Town 1-2 Maidstone Utd
Everton 1-2 Luton Town
Leeds United 1-1 Plymouth Argyle
Leicester City 3-0 Birmingham City
Sheffield United 2-5 Brighton and Hove Albion
Fulham 0-2 Newcastle United

I watched most of the Manchester United game and also saw highlights of the Liverpool game. Manchester United were pushed hard by Newport County and Liverpool were in control throughout their game. Yesterday Everton were knocked. Before that Manchester City knocked out Tottenham. Chelsea and Aston Villa will have a replay after their match ended 0-0 therefore it is too early to make a call about the team that will win the FA Cup.

Having said that, what are the odds on Leicester City winning because they are through to the 5th Round after a comfortable 3-0 win against Birmingham City and are sitting at the top of the Championship and are clearly on course to return to the Premier League.

These are the FA Cup quarter-final fixtures to be played on Saturday 16th March:

Chelsea vs Leicester City
Manchester City vs Newcastle United
Manchester United vs Liverpool
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Coventry City

As it stands, most people would probably state Manchester City and Liverpool were favourites to win the trophy. After that there is not much to choose between Chelsea, Newcastle United and Manchester United. Least favourites have to be Leicester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Coventry City.

These are the first two FA Cup quarter-final games being played tomorrow Saturday 16th March 2024:

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Coventry City
Manchester City vs Newcastle United

There is a derby between two West Midlands teams. Coventry City are the underdogs but I will hope they will the game. As for the other fixture, Manchester City are clearly favourites but Newcastle United are capable of causing an upset because they have nothing to play for this season and would like to end it with a trophy.

These are the FA Cup quarter-final games taking place tomorrow Sunday 17th March:

Chelsea vs Leicester City
Manchester United vs Liverpool

On paper you would have to be confident Chelsea would beat Leicester City. As for the other game, any team could win it but even though Manchester United have home advantage it is Klopp that makes his final appearance at Old Trafford as Liverpool manager therefore they will be motivated too. It should be a good game to watch.

These are the results of the first FA Cup quarter-final games that were played today:

Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-3 Coventry City
Manchester City 2-0 Newcastle United

Many would have expected Manchester City to win their game against Newcastle United but the game of the day was between Wolves and Coventry City.

After coming back from a goal down, Wolves took the lead late in the game and it looked like a win for them but Coventry City did not give up and scored two late goals to make it to their first FA Cup semi-final since 1987 and that year they won the competition. What are the chances they will win the competition again in 2024?

Results from the FA Cup quarter-final games played on Sunday 17th March:

Chelsea 4-2 Leicester City
Manchester United 4-3 Liverpool

====================

Leicester City showed why they will probably be returning back to the Premier League next season because they played well against Chelsea. The Chelsea victory was tainted when their fans began to boo Sterling but they won the game 4-2 and will face Manchester City in the semi-final. In the other semi-final, Coventry City will play Manchester United. Both semi-finals will take place at Wembley Stadium.

This is the first FA Cup semi-final taking place today Saturday 20th April:

Manchester City vs Chelsea

Last season Manchester City win the treble. Even though they are sitting top of the Premier League, they were knocked out by Real Madrid in the Champions League. I have a feeling Chelsea will win the game today and that would mean Manchester City would have only the Premier League as their only trophy target.

I will not be surprised if Manchester City end up without a trophy this season because I expect Chelsea to knock them out of the FA Cup today and I also expect Liverpool to win the Premier League.

These were the semi-final results:

Sunday 21st April
Coventry City 3-3 Manchester United
Manchester United win 4-2 on penalties

Saturday 20th April
Manchester City 1-0 Chelsea

Th FA Cup final 2024 will take place between the two Manchester clubs just as they did last year. Coventry City came from 0-3 down to score three goals and take the game to extra-time before losing the penalty shoot out. As for Chelsea, they had a lot of chances to score and take a commanding lead before Manchester City scored a fortunate goal.

Manchester City
vs
Manchester United

Wembley Stadium 25th May 2024

This has been a disappointing season for Manchester United as they have had their lowest finish in the Premier League era. Add to that they will miss out on playing in the Champions League next season then it compounds their demise and the blame lay with their manager Ten Hag. He had a good first season but this season he has shown he is not up to the job and there are very strong rumours that he will lose his job after the FA Cup final regardless of the result.

As for Manchester City, they are newly crowned Premier League champions having win four consecutive titles and are also defending FA Cup winners. The final is being played by the same teams as last year and in tat fixture Manchester City beat Manchester United 2-1.

Congratulations to 2024 FA Cup Winners: Manchester United

Manchester City 1-2 Manchester United

Judging by the way the game was played and how Manchester United managed to contain the threat posed by Manchester City, I think it will be difficult for Guardiola and his Manchester City team to comfortably win the Premier League next season. If I were to select a team now, I would have to choose Arsenal but that could change when the season starts.

When they were losing 0-2, Manchester City finally scored a goal as a result of Onana making a mistake with just a few minutes of the game remaining but they were unable to find an equaliser. In the second-half Manchester United themselves nearly scored a third goal on two occasions therefore the momentum changed but Manchester United stepped up to control the game in most parts and deserved their win.

These are the fixtures of the 3rd round of the FA Cup:

Sunday 12th January
Hull City vs Doncaster Rovers
Tamworth vs Tottenham Hotspur
Arsenal vs Manchester United
Crystal Palace vs Stockport Count
Ipswich Town vs Bristol Rovers
Newcastle United vs Bromley
Southampton vs Swansea City

The standout game has to be Arsenal vs Manchester United. It is the only chance Manchester United have of trying to win a trophy this season therefore they will try to win the game by playing attacking football. Arsenal are in the race to win the Premier League therefore they will be favourites to win the game.

Who agrees?  Grin

win: Tottenham, Crystal Palace, Ipswich Town, Newcastle United, Southampton
draw: Hull City, Arsenal

Here are the 3rd round results of the 2024/25 FA Cup:

Thursday 9th January
Sheffield United 0-1 Cardiff City
Everton 2-0 Peterborough United
Fulham 4-1 Watford

Friday 10th January
Wycombe Wanderers 2-0 Portsmouth
Aston Villa 2-0 West Ham United

Saturday 11th January
Birmingham City 2-1 Lincoln City
Bristol City 1-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Middlesbrough 0-1 Blackburn Rovers
Liverpool 4-0 Accrington Stanley
Leicester City 6-2 Queens Park Rangers
Bournemouth 5-1 West Bromwich Albion
Brentford 0-1 Plymouth Argyle
Chelsea 5-0 Morecambe
Exeter City 3-1 Oxford United
Norwich City 0-4 Brighton and Hove Albion
Nottingham Forest 2-0 Luton Town
Reading 1-3 Burnley
Sunderland 1-2 Stoke City
Leeds United 1-0 Harrogate Town
Manchester City 8-0 Salford City
Coventry City 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday
Coventry City win 4-3 on penalties

RESULTS:

Hull City 1-1 Doncaster Rovers
Tamworth 0-3 Tottenham Hotspur After Extra Time
Arsenal 1-1 Manchester United Manchester United win 5-3 on penalties
Crystal Palace 1-0 Stockport Count
Ipswich Town 3-0 Bristol Rovers
Newcastle United 3-1 Bromley
Southampton 3-0 Swansea City

What a second half it was. Both teams could have won the game but Manchester United deserved the win even though they played with 10 men for most of the second half. The goal by Fernandes was perfectly placed in the corner but they could not hold on to the lead with Dalot sent off.

As an United fan I'm finally happy for this team and it's been a while since I've been happy for United. Today United really played with their hearts on the table and they showed great character and great mentality that eventually led them to score first like you said but also win on penalties with 5-3.

I think the biggest surprise was that Spurs needed extra time in order to qualify further and even if they had their 2nd team on the field , they should have won in regular time.

United weren't playing only 11 men Arsenal, they got unfairly treated in the match but still they won while having just 10 men on the pitch. Arsenal is one of the most unluckiest club that I have ever seen, so now their chances of winning something this season has ended.

Arteta needs to be sacked because that guy has spent how many years at Arsenal yet there isn't much to show for it. Man united spirit was everything, I don't get it why they don't play like this in every game. It was a well deserving victory for United and I just hope they continue in this new form that they have  found.

For the Chelsea game against Morecambe, it was nice seeing Chelsea score lots of goals again and Tosin was my man of the match, dude playing like prime Antonio Rüdiger, shooting and scoring too. I enjoyed the show.

I think the biggest surprise was that Spurs needed extra time in order to qualify further and even if they had their 2nd team on the field , they should have won in regular time.
Tamworth did not let Tottenham have an easy game but they lost in the end. Congratulations to them, it is great to watch a small team take on a Premier League club in their own small stadium to please local fans.

As for Manchester United they deserved to win, they are beginning to become a cohesive unit not allowing teams to play through them. They should have beaten Liverpool but that game ended 2-2 therefore Amorim is beginning to make progress.

Arsenal could not find a way to win even though they had a full team on the pitch for over 35 minutes in the second half, maybe that was why Havertz resorted to diving and managed to fool the referee in to giving a penalty. Maguire was furious, I have never seen him behave that way before. At least Bayindir (standing in for Onana) saved the penalty and the game went to extra time and penalties. Manchester United deserved to win.

United weren't playing only 11 men Arsenal, they got unfairly treated in the match but still they won while having just 10 men on the pitch. Arsenal is one of the most unluckiest club that I have ever seen, so now their chances of winning something this season has ended.
The team spirit was fantastic, they were fighting for every ball just as they did against Liverpool and they did not allow Arsenal a chance to build momentum. I do not know how Havertz missed 4-5 goalscoring chances and how Trossard did not get to that ball before De Ligt and how Arsenal only managed to score via a deflection. Arsenal had too many chances but failed to score and Manchester United never stopped attacking, it was an enjoyable game.

Arteta needs to be sacked because that guy has spent how many years at Arsenal yet there isn't much to show for it. Man united spirit was everything, I don't get it why they don't play like this in every game. It was a well deserving victory for United and I just hope they continue in this new form that they have  found.
I think that is a little harsh, Arteta is the right man for the job at Arsenal. The board, players and fans are with him. I wanted him sacked a couple of seasons ago but he has turned Arsenal in to a force again. They need a few more signings in the next transfer window to strengthen the squad.

For the Chelsea game against Morecambe, it was nice seeing Chelsea score lots of goals again and Tosin was my man of the match, dude playing like prime Antonio Rüdiger, shooting and scoring too. I enjoyed the show.
Chelsea needed a big win just to remind themselves of what it feels like. If Chelsea manage to win the FA Cup and qualify for the Champions League it will be a fantastic season but if they finished second place it would be an unbelievably successful season for them. Maresca deserves credit for his transformation of the team, they need to keep the level high and hope Liverpool drop points.

RESULT:

Manchester United 2-1 Leicester City

After going a goal down, Manchester United won the game with two second half goals. Garnacho came on as a substitute and changed the game but it was another poor performance from Manchester United and Amorim is running out of excuses. Had Leicester City been more effective in front of goal they would have won the game.

The holders qualify for the next round.

There is one game taking place this today Monday 3rd March:

Nottingham Forest vs Ipswich Town

On paper Nottingham Forest should have an easy game but in the FA Cup anything can happen. Plymouth Argyle took the lead against Manchester City and were on the verge of winning but denied another win after they knocked Liverpool out of the competition.

The holders Manchester United are out, they were beaten by Fulham on penalties. Brighton played well enough to score a late goal to go through to the next round. If the Newcastle United goal was not ruled to be offside, it would have been a different story.

RESULTS:

Saturday 1st March
Crystal Palace 3-1 Millwall
Preston North End 3-0 Burnley
Bournemouth 1-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers (Bournemouth win 5-4 on penalties)
Manchester City 3-1 Plymouth Argyle

Sunday 2nd March
Newcastle United 1-2 Brighton and Hove Albion
Manchester United 1-1 Fulham (Fulham win 4-3 on penalties)

Fulham and Crystal Palace play first in the London derby. Brighton will play Nottingham Forest in the late kick-off game. In my opinion, the teams that will make it to the semi-finals will be Fulham and Nottingham Forest  Grin

RESULTS:

Fulham 0-3 Crystal Palace
Brighton and Hove Albion 0-0 Nottingham Forest
Preston North End 0-3 Aston Villa
Bournemouth 1-2 Manchester City

Nottingham Forest are my favourites to win the FA Cup. They won the game on penalties but they have a chance to win the FA Cup and finish a Champions League spot. Bournemouth almost knocked Manchester City but lost the game even though they were winning 1-0. Aston Villa and Crystal Palace were the other teams that made it to the semi-finals.

This is the draw for the FA Cup semi-finals. The games take place at Wembley Stadium on 26th and 27th April:

Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City
Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa

I am extremely confident Manchester City will not win the FA Cup. If Nottingham Forest do not beat them, I am sure Crystal Palace or Aston Villa will beat them in the final. In my opinion, this year will see either Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace or Aston Villa as winners.

The first FA Cup semi-final takes place today:

Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa

After the disappointment of being knocked out at the quarter-final stage of the Champions League, Aston Villa will try to make a top five finish and get to the FA Cup final. As for Crystal Palace, they have never won the FA Cup even though they have been in the final twice and on both occasions were beaten by Manchester United.

The FA Cup final is taking place today at Wembley Stadium. Not many commentators would have thought Crystal Palace would be in the final. They have been losing finalists twice (both times against Manchester United). This time they are facing favourites Manchester City.

RESULT:

Crystal Palace 1-0 Manchester City

Congratulations to Crystal Palace, they won their first ever major trophy in their entire history. They absolutely deserved to win thee game. As for Manchester City, they have won nothing this season and could miss out on a Champions League spot too.
