It just totally depends how soon I want to get out of my position. When selling majors(BTC, ETH), I mostly just put in sell offers. When selling low caps with low liquidity, I mostly just slowly but surely put in sell offers as to not fill the orderbook with a scary huge sell order. On the other hand, if I see bad news and the market barely reacted yet, I just market sell.

First, it really depends on how fast I want to get my coins to the form I want eg fiat or something.

Technically it's not about trading volume but liquidity. Just choose an exchange with enough liquidity so that your market sales won't be affecting the price.

Choosing to sell via limit or market order depends what you are doing. If you have an exit target you could set up limit orders, or even an iceberg order. If you just want to get out, you can slowly just market sell and save time. But again, liquidity is the key, there's no point trying to sell something even with limit order when there's not enough buy orders. And if you would do that you would have to wait that someone would use your limit order via arbitrage trading. It's just better to use legit sites with good liquidity and save time.

It depends on the liquidity which is consist of the exchange and coins you're trade.

If you choose popular exchange and the most liquid pair e.g. BTC/USDT, there's no reason you need to sell it slowly in order to gain higher margin, because your sell order wouldn't affect the market since many people are sell more.

It will be different if you use small exchange or shitcoins with low cap, people are trying to pump or dump the coin by put little sell order in order to make people who want to buy the coin automatically will use the recent price.

because I sell more often in small quantities, I prefer to sell instantly at market prices. but it all depends on my wishes. but I very rarely sell by placing orders with better margins. it is like casting a net when the price can pump on our target. but if the nominal we sell is not that big, I don't think there will be too big a difference. selling instant more fun and fast for us to process. especially if you want to make withdrawals for urgent needs.

I am rarely selling any crypto currencies these days, in my opinion the prices are not good to sell right now. The current prices are so low that I would recommend to buy than to sell. But for the sake of your question I assume that I would need to sell my coins now. Buying and selling is a very similar transaction and I would use the same strategy. Instead of selling all my coins at once I recommend to sell them over time. The timing question is the biggest challenge in trading, nobody knows when is the best time to buy or to sell. That's why I would always choose to sell my coins over several months than at one point in time. The only exception would be if there is a new project that is very promising. If there is the chance to make a big short term profit than I would switch all my money into the new coin.

selling instant at market price seems to be faster. but I also occasionally place sell orders for assets that I'm not in too much of a rush to sell. setting up better margins of course takes into account profits.
but when selling a small number of assets like BTC, I will sell instantly at market price. when the amount is small, then installing with a margin that is not so large will not affect profits in large numbers.
if the transaction is small, I think it would be better to use instant sell.

For me it depends. If I need the money right away then I just sell it on the market offers. Its not like a huge difference when bid on a sell offer. But If Im not on a rush then I just hold a good position on my liking and wait for it. Thats what I do when I am doing trading but not all the time since nowadays its quite bearish so its hard to do a short term trading.

When I trade, I just go with what the market's price and sell it instantly as I'm always on the go. It's simple and plain because I want to save time.

But if you don't like that strategy and way of trading then you can always set and define your prices so that you'll have that much higher profit or better buy when you set it.

I'm only selling it instantly at a market price when something is important for a tradeoff for another asset or something I can sell to withdraw and convert it to fiat. Something which intrigued me at Crypto.com exchange is that instant sale was rating bitcoin at 87,000$ price range, in my local currency, while at google bitcoin was pricing 90,000$, in my local currency. Then I opened an order at Crypto.com to sell my coins for 90,000$, but the platform didn't let me, claiming I would have to open a sale order with bitcoin pricing at least 92,000$.

Isn't it strange? They are forcing you to sell your coins for the instant price they want (cheapest one), since you can't increase it a little, but only to a much more expensive price, nobody is going to purchase soon.

Depend on situation when have selling instantly or separated with selling order little higher price than current price or altcoin and Bitcoin as coin trading, usually with exchange I used for trading there are almost not bigger different between buy and sell order. It is called instant sell for a reason. If someone knows that the price may go up, then why should the sell it instantly in the first place? Because they need the money instantly. So they sell at market price.
Other reason could be the fear of price dump. If someone trade their assets emotionally and think that they made a mistake and wants to keep the remaining assets from going down, then they sell immediately. In this case, this needs to be avoided.
But if someone is in need of money instantly, then they will sell. And also it's their personal choice.

Or you can immediately sell your all your buy using market order it will be sold at the current price. For me, I always use market order when I am selling some of my coins if I needed the funds immediately.

Opening order makes you susceptible to price fall as well, I'd rather just sell instantly at market prices unless the spread is too big or slippage is high.
