One of my favorite topics. HERE it is very interesting to watch some characters who realize in reality what is called "cognitive dissonance" Smiley This is when you see that everything in the country is collapsing, but you cheerfully talk about SUCCESS Smiley
Do you also think that a budget deficit is bad? Your beloved US and every G7 country has been running chronic budget deficits for years. Or is it different?

By itself, the budget deficit is not very good, you have to be able to live within your means. But at the macroeconomic level, the budget deficit is rather the norm. Nobody likes a recession (although there is nothing wrong with a recession, the processes in the economy are usually cyclical) and governments artificially stimulate economic growth by spending more than they earn. And they also stimulate their own citizens, the savings model of behavior again provokes a recession. Therefore, there is no need to dramatize the current budget deficit in Russia, especially since part of it is purely technical in nature (the government now has a trillion rubles of undistributed income - these are still the consequences of the winter transition to a single tax account). But if economic growth indicators matter to you, then the current budget deficit is definitely a success, because it will directly lead to an increase in the percentage of GDP growth in the foreseeable future and right now.

That is why Biden cannot agree on an increase in the debt ceiling - the Republicans are demanding spending cuts, and this will immediately lead to a recession, which is extremely disadvantageous for Biden before the elections. Economic growth is not determined by how much you earn, but by how much you spend.

What a great topic, thanks for the reminder! Smiley
Let's look at what a budget deficit is and how it manifests itself? ?
So - "Budget deficit" is the excess of budget expenditures over its revenues. Those. impossibility to fulfill some of the planned indicators included in the state budget. What should this affect? For anything - a metro line will not be built, 7 new hospitals will be built instead of 10, a previously approved amount will not be allocated for some holiday, etc. In the worst case, this will affect the population, or rather, its wallets - delays in the payment of pensions, salaries of civil servants, reduced spending on social programs ...
And now we look: the countries you listed, with a budget deficit, and as I understand it, "Russia with a deficit-free budget", and ask the question - where is life better, and where has life begun to slide down? I think it's hard to go wrong, right? Smiley
At the same time, in the US and the EU there is no multiple inflation, an increase in the death rate of the population, and a decrease in life expectancy? As well as there are no first places in many diseases that have long been forgotten in the West ... One can go on listing the growing problems for a long time, but these will not be problems of the USA or the EU ...

But let's get back to Russia, shall we? And what do you think the situation looks like in Russia, which "does not have such debts as the United States", and I will assume "there is no budget deficit"? Tell us, listen with pleasure, your truth? Smiley

PS One very important question - why do you have so much attention to the problems of the USA, the EU, Ukraine - but not a word about the mountains of Russia's problems? Smiley

Don't talk nonsense. The budget deficit arose due to a decrease in the level of income, but the expenditure part of the budget did not decrease and even increased. Therefore, all metro lines will be built, all hospitals will be built, all social programs will be implemented in full, and the budget deficit will not affect the well-being of citizens in any way or will affect it for the better. I repeat once again for those who are slow to understand - it is important not how much you earn, but how much you spend. The lack of income is simply compensated from the National Welfare Fund or through domestic borrowing (by issuing federal loan bonds).

And now we look: the countries you listed, with a budget deficit, and as I understand it, "Russia with a deficit-free budget", and ask the question - where is life better, and where has life begun to slide down? I think it's hard to go wrong, right? Smiley

Russia has one important problem - demographic. Against the backdrop of a huge abundance of any kind of resources in Russia, there are very few people, and this is a problem. I do not think that its solution lies entirely in the economic aspect, because this is a common problem for countries with a Western type of mentality (which, with a number of reservations, can include Russia). You can even notice the opposite trend - the more economically developed the country, the lower the birth rate index in it. Western countries solve this problem at the expense of migrants. Russia is trying to solve this problem in every way, both by stimulating the birth rate with maternity capital, and by simplifying the acquisition of citizenship for migrants, but on the whole, so far, it has not been very successful. Although, due to the territories of Crimea and Donbas annexed from Ukraine, the population of Russia has increased quite well.

Everything is a little different. According to Reuters, Russia spent 525.4 billion rubles from its budget on "national defense" in January and February 2022. However, in the first two months of 2023, the Russian government spent 2 trillion rubles, or $26 billion, on defense. According to experts, these funds were directed to the war against Ukraine. In addition, they were supposed to mitigate the impact of Western sanctions on the Russian economy.
At the same time, Russia budgeted for 2023 spending in the amount of 4.98 trillion rubles. But almost 40% of them have already spent in the first 2 months of the year.
Also, according to analysts, the defense spending of the aggressor country in January and February 2023 amounted to 36.2% of total budget spending. This is almost twice as much spending on social programs and almost four times as much - on the "national economy". Do you think this is very good for Russia?
Damn it, of course this is very good for Russia. Loading the military-industrial complex with 100% orders, forcing the defense industry to work in three shifts around the clock and seven days a week - this is the backbone thanks to which the Russian economy did not fall to pieces when turning from the West to the South and East. This is a great, perhaps the best, way to inject money into the economy without causing inflation to spike. In fact, money is just a material equivalent of life force, and Russia has a huge energy surplus, it has to be spent somewhere. And a controlled armed conflict on foreign territory is an ideal option, first destroy everything there, and then rebuild everything anew - a double profit.

The conflict in Ukraine is beneficial to the United States, Russia, India and China. Unfavorable for energy-deficient Europe and Ukraine itself. This is in short.
Yes, it seems that the Russians are really a horde that is trying to cash in on robberies and murders of the population of their neighboring states. Instead of arranging normal living conditions in their own country, they are trying to ruin the lives of their neighbors who dared to live better than them.
You say that "a controlled armed conflict on foreign territory is an ideal option, first destroy everything there, and then rebuild everything anew - double profit"? But don't you think that the Russians can only destroy, but not rebuild? Donbass in Ukraine, where the Russians have entered, has turned into solid ruins and no one is going to rebuild the captured settlements there. They say that there is no point in this, everything is so destroyed.

But can we now talk about the Russian city of Chita, which is now drowning in garbage, feces and sewage? Entire areas live without sewerage and go to toilets with holes. And when the toilets are full, people just dump buckets of shit in their yards. At the same time, despite the general poverty and lack of sewerage, Russia spends billions on the war against Ukraine, ignoring the gigantic problems inside the country.

But don't you think that for the destroyed infrastructure of Ukraine, several generations of Russians will have to pay reparations and this profit from the loot in the war will not cover them?

Again wet erotic fantasies about reparations? Reparations are paid by the losing side, in order to start a substantive dialogue about reparations, Ukraine must first defeat Russia. I estimate the chances of such a scenario as zero.

ps
Yes, it seems that the Russians are really a horde that is trying to cash in on robberies and murders of the population of their neighboring states. Instead of arranging normal living conditions in their own country, they are trying to ruin the lives of their neighbors who dared to live better than them.
Be careful with labels. The United States is the most consistent supporter of this method of stimulating its economy. True, for the conflict they prefer not to choose neighbors, but some small and resource-rich country on another continent. This complicates the logistics, but then the enemy has no chance to strike at your territory.

Does the Russian defense work in 3 shifts? Are you seriously ?

Okay, let's suppose. Then the question is why they go to Ukraine: T62, GAZ66, artillery of the 50-70s of the last century ... And those who are mobilized for uniforms, medical preparations and so on - friends and relatives collect money ?! Why is Russia begging for UAVs, artillery systems and shells from North Korea from IRAN? Smiley
You probably confused with the US military-industrial complex, which works in 4 shifts to produce the required amount of modern weapons that go to Ukraine. And also to countries that have transferred their weapons to Ukraine in order to maintain the combat readiness of their armies? And it's all for sale, and taxes are paid for it, and it all has a price in dollars!

Remind me how the arms race ended when the USSR military-industrial complex also allegedly worked in "3 shifts", although the USSR was noticeably stronger and more self-sufficient than modern Russia. Where is this country? Helped them work in 3 shifts? Smiley

But don't forget that Russia is also a rogue country and an international terrorist country, which this time will be finally weaned from doing such things. The whole world realized that it is impossible to deal with Russia, so they will deal with the new independent republics of the former Russia Smiley
This is a new story where there will be no place for terrorist countries!

In a sense, Ukraine can be viewed as a testing ground, on the one hand, for the natural disposal of old types of weapons and ammunition, on the other, for testing the latest types of weapons. This is a common practice in such limited regional conflicts, so both sides can easily find both frankly outdated weapons and the newest ones that have not really been tested yet. I don't understand what surprises you about this. Moreover, there are interesting hybrid schemes, such as old high-explosive aerial bombs of the middle of the last century, modified with the latest control and planning kits. If your vision were not clouded by propaganda, you would see rational economic expediency in such an approach. Disposing of expired artillery shells is expensive, and firing such a shell towards the enemy is free. An expired expiration date does not mean that the projectile has already been damaged, it just needs to be replaced according to the regulations.

I did not confuse anything, the situation is completely similar. Western countries are loading their military-industrial complex with orders, getting rid of old types of weapons, testing new weapons.

Remind me how the arms race ended when the USSR military-industrial complex also allegedly worked in "3 shifts", although the USSR was noticeably stronger and more self-sufficient than modern Russia. Where is this country? Helped them work in 3 shifts? Smiley

Well, about the benefits of the budget deficit: “The federal budget deficit of Russia in April exceeded the plan for 2023, follows from the preliminary assessment of the Ministry of Finance. In January-April, the budget was executed with a deficit of up to 3.424 trillion rubles, having increased in April by 1.024 trillion rubles at once ."
and manifestations of "benefit":
"Putin has frozen the funded pension for Russians until the end of 2025. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that extends the freezing of the funded part of the pension - the Russians will not receive it until the end of 2025."

And all this with the rapid growth of costs for the failed terrorist special military operation, which the Kremlin zayey, deceiving itself with its inflated greatness, inflated "stable" economy and the same fake army Smiley

The funded part of the pension has been frozen since 2014, take the trouble to look for fresher shit.

I'm always having a good laugh while reading his posts. This guy is so funny! He doesn't even bother to find and re-post some latest news on what's going on in Russia (and there are lots of negative things happening there too). Instead he's spamming all war/sanction threads with some speculation and wild guesses and sometimes outright lies and BS. No facts, no sources provided. Zero credibility guy.  Grin

I am very grateful to you for this post! Smiley
Now explain why, in a country, in your opinion, with a stable and surplus economy, this has been happening for 8 (eight!) years in a row! And this is done by the one who promised to "raise Russia from its knees"? Well, just so that everyone does not laugh on the entire Internet? Please try! Smiley

Aha, that's how we squirm now?! Smiley
That is, real facts from the RUSSIAN media and information channels - are these my fantasies?  Grin Grin Grin

To deny even what the "leaders of the Russian world" say, to deny reality is the only method of the rashist mentality. This is "normal", in clinical psychiatry there is such a manifestation, this is a long-studied disease Smiley

PS. What's up with the Belgorod People's Republic? Who asked Russian and pro-Russian-speaking patriots for protection from the constant shelling and bombing of the Kremlin junta? Smiley

....
Does the Russian defense work in 3 shifts? Are you serious?
Yep.

.....
An expired expiration date does not mean that the projectile has already been damaged, it just needs to be replaced according to the regulations.

....
I did not confuse anything, the situation is completely similar. Western countries are loading their military-industrial complex with orders, getting rid of old types of weapons, testing new weapons.

.....
You already have propaganda coming out of your ears. Boring.

1. Well, what else is left but to repeat the memorized mantra Smiley
2. Yes, let's say. But as you yourself pointed out, they are testing NEW weapons, and not squealing - "give shells, and tanks, there is nothing to fight with," to which, in response, they find ancient rubbish in warehouses, hastily launch them to at least move and send "the second army of the world ", which is allegedly 80% equipped / re-equipped with "unparalleled weapons" Smiley)))
Here, tell us about 2000 Armata tanks in the RF Armed Forces, and other fabulous Terminators and elusive Daggers? Let's laugh at the whole forum! Smiley

3. Propaganda? Well, let me wet your face again in your own lies, prove that Russia is not a pariah country, not an aggressor country generally recognized by the whole world, its leader is an international criminal for whom an international court issued a warrant? I am waiting for evidence that I have propaganda from my ears ... well, or that you are a primitive liar, once again Smiley

While ridiculing the Russian military capabilities, you are conveniently ignoring the fact that NATO weapons have proved to be ineffective in most cases. Every now and then, a lot of hue and cry is raised when NATO provides some new weapon (HIMARS, Leopards 2, Storm Shadow.etc). But the effectiveness lasts for a few days, before the Russians learn how to counter these weapons. Russia is still gaining territory, while Ukraine is losing theirs. And this is despite Ukraine having a numerical advantage over the Russian Armed forces.

dear Sithara007, do not act like Russian supporters of propaganda? Smiley It looks pathetic and funny... You are a smart person!

And I'll EASILY PROVE IT!
So - for starters, give examples proving the FAIRY TALE YOU DEVELOPED, namely - "Western weapons turned out to be" ineffective?

In the meantime, I will list a small part of what was transferred to Ukraine, our friends, to combat rashism!
At the same time, he recalls how BEFORE each delivery they squealed "no, they won't give it to them, and if they give it, we will destroy it instantly."
And after the delivery that took place, wild squeals of fear began throughout Russia, that this is impossible, what is it, "our boys are dying, how can we answer ?!" Smiley

- UAV Bayraktar
- MLRS Hymars (OIN generally turned the tide of the war)
- RPRO and air defense systems (from stingers to Petriots), as a result of which the Russian Air Force is even afraid to fly up to the front line
...
And many other things that make propagandists in Russia piss in their pants Smiley

Yes, and tell us, with examples and evidence - how is Russia now opposing the Petriot and Storm Shadow systems? Smiley

The only thing I can confirm is that yes, Russia has learned to fight the Baraktars ... But - only in 4+ months, despite the fact that according to Russian statements, they always had "no analogue of air defense" Smiley))
Now Bayraktars perform other missions...

And for one thing, tell me - where did Ukraine lose territories, how much, and how many corpses of Russians per square meter? Smiley Under Bakhmut, Russia has already put about 100,000 of its disposable citizens, this is a fact, whether you like it or not. But now Russia is losing the Belgorod Region. By the way - historically belonged to Ukraine, like the Kuban, but they will return to their "native harbor" over time!

Just a fact from today:

"The situation at the checkpoint" Grayvoron "in the Belgorod region
Previously, reinforcements arrived at the RDK fighters. The guys are absolutely calmly digging in.
In the meantime, information appeared that Russia was going to withdraw units of the 3rd motorized rifle division of the 20th combined arms army from the front (Lugansk direction) and transfer them to the Belgorod region.
RDK - Russian patriots who rebelled against the Kemlevsky junta. The inhabitants of Belgorod and the region themselves asked them to protect them from constant shelling and bombing by Russian terrorist troops, as well as to conduct a special military operation to demilitarize the Kremlin occupiers! There is even an official letter! Smiley

And the last sentence - you need to pour it in gold Smiley))
Those. LITTLE UKRAINE, has NUMERICAL superiority over the second army of the world? Are you serious ?

So, for clarity, the ratio of the scale of the terrorist country to Ukraine:

In Russia, the pension system is very difficult to understand, I do not understand it very well. An ordinary pension is divided into several parts, funded, social, insurance, there are some pension points, it is calculated differently depending on whether the pensioner works or not. This is a complex and inefficient system that requires direct subsidies from the budget for its operation. It needs to be reformed, but no one seems to know exactly how to do it. Previous attempts at reform have made it more complex, but no better. This is the case when if you cannot find an independent solution, then it would be good to adopt a successful example from world experience, but in world experience with successful examples everything is also bad. This is a universal problem associated with an increase in life expectancy and an increase in the proportion of pensioners in the total population, and it seems that no one in the world knows how to solve this problem with the inefficiency of the pension system. If you know of a country where the pension system does not experience similar problems, please let me know.

Grin

Everything is logical! And what is left for you but to nervously laugh at the FACTS? Have you been able to refute at least one of them? Here you have to laugh, if you read our dialogues lately. You simply deny, without citing a single verifiable ARGUMENT or FACT Smiley A sort of mental infantilism - do not be offended, this is not offensive, this is normal for supporters of the Russian world Smiley

In the meantime, another portion of FACTS, you can continue to laugh Smiley

- Six regions of Russia have exhausted the balance of budget reserves and entered 2023 with a complete or almost complete lack of funds in their accounts.
- The price of natural gas continues its protracted fall after Russia's failed attempts to manipulate this commodity on the international market.
- The spot price of Urals crude oil once again fell below $60. Let me remind you that this is the price without discounts, which now reach up to 50% of the spot price, due to difficulties with the sale of this oil and sanctions pressure.
- The Central Bank of the Russian Federation discovered a “shortage” of billions of dollars for Russian raw materials sold in circumvention of sanctions. Those. "fraternal China and India" not only "have Russia" in terms of price, but also do not pay for transactions Smiley))
- China has stopped deliveries of components for secret radio stations of the Ministry of Defense. The enterprise for the production of special-purpose radio communications NPO Angstrem, owned by the former Minister of Communications and ex-adviser to the President Leonid Reiman, disrupted the state defense order, RBC reports.

Can you disprove at least one fact? Well, well, as expected, shut up Smiley

There is nothing funnier than the pathetic attempts of lovers of the Russian world to distort reality  Grin

Don't take it to heart. DrBeer is just a politically motivated Ukrainian Russophobe who pollutes the Economics thread for the sole reason that he won't get paid four dollars for another message in the Politics thread as part of a signature campaign. This may be a problem for the bounty manager, because such aggressively politicized behavior casts a shadow on the reputation of the advertised bitcoin mixer, but since the bounty manager thinks everything is in order, this is not a problem.

It is doubly funny that while actively scolding Russia in the English-language branch, he in the Russian-language locale almost as actively advertises the agricultural tokens of some kind of Ukrainian enterprise for the production of cucumbers lol. Grin

"Excellent plan" - write off a fictitious, "far-fetched" accusation to the opponent, whose arguments are true, which you don't like, and the opponent reveals all your attempts to lie Smiley

About Russophobia - it's generally funny. I am RUSSIAN by origin, but not a resident of Russia, but a free Ukraine. Russophobia is a narrative invented by the Kremlin to scare its people and cloud their minds. There is no fear for the Russians. There is an aversion to RASHIZM, but these are different entities Smiley

And once again about the economy going to the bottom, i.e. about Russian Smiley

- China refused to buy Russian wheat despite Putin's requests
The record harvest of grain harvested last year by Russian farmers was not needed by Russia's largest trading partner.
China, which has increased purchases of almost all types of natural resources from Russia - from oil and gas to coal and metals - refuses to buy Russian-made wheat, despite numerous requests voiced by President Vladimir Putin. Instead of Russian wheat, China prefers Australian (59%), Canadian (18%) and American (9%) wheat. The problem arose at the level of China's phytosanitary requirements
And it was one of the notable export items. Oil is sold almost at cost, gas has fallen in price, Russia has lost its markets. Now the grain market and the largest buyer of this product. Undoubtedly, this is the success of Russia Smiley

- Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded that measures be taken in response to the mass emigration of citizens that swept the country after the start of the war and the announcement of mobilization.

- Two news are wonderful:
Putin demanded to protect children from the Internet
-- The governor of Primorye proposed to lure orphans to war with the help of certificates for apartments
Those. steal the opportunity to receive information from children, and at the same time send them to war, kill foreign citizens, and die themselves, and this is much more valuable Smiley

- One of Europe's largest insulin producers, Novo Nordisk, following the American BMS and Eli Lilly plans to enter the Russian market. In Russia itself, at the moment, insulin is produced by a semi-handicraft method, and in very small quantities ....

- With pleas and threats: Russia asked India for salvation from financial isolation - "great Russia" is once again begging for something from its "friends" Smiley

Well, Russophiles, let's talk about the economy? Smiley

The main problem with wheat is the lack of free logistics capacity, phytosanitary difficulties are Bloomberg's Russophobic fantasies. China buys wheat from Russia, just a little (only 30,000 tons), against the backdrop of a general increase in trade by 40% per year, there is simply no room for wheat. Putin instructed the Cabinet of Ministers and the Central Bank to study the possibility of concluding an intergovernmental agreement on a new land grain corridor Russia-China by October 1. I think this issue, among other things, will be discussed at the upcoming business forum in Shanghai.
Well, Russophiles, let's talk about the economy? Smiley

Instead of Russian wheat, China prefers Australian (59%), Canadian (18%) and American (9%) wheat. The problem arose at the level of China's phytosanitary requirements
Smiley
What is the price of cucumbers? Grin

There seems to be limited room for wheat due to the increase in overall trade. I think, Such initiatives also have the potential to address logistical challenges as well as facilitate trade by creating special routes and agreements between the two countries. It seems we need to wait for the results of a government study on the feasibility and implications of the intergovernmental agreement before drawing any conclusive conclusions. For example the price of cucumbers, that is a different subject that deserves separate attention, maybe in a different context. Thank You.

Grin

Smiley

First, before we discuss anything please provide the sources for this info you've posted. No sources - no discussion, because there are no facts to discuss.  Grin

Getting back to economy, I've heard the US is approaching a default: https://edition.cnn.com/2023/05/23/business/prepare-debt-default/index.html among others, the military will be affected, pay delays are possible. Uncle Sam is not even begging, it's just drowning in trillions of debt.  Grin

The classic position of the terrorist country:
- it's not us, give proof!
- here is the evidence!
- this is not evidence! We need other evidence!
- good - here are new proofs for you!
- no, this is not the evidence we need! Where is the signature? Where is the notarial certificate?
- here are documents, here are signatures, here is a photo/video, here is a recording of conversations!
- it's all fake, you haven't proven anything! And we have a witness, he said something completely different, and we believe him

I am not even interested in you, dear be.open, at least he is really trying to find a more or less adequate answer, even if he twisted the information, but at least not so stupidly Smiley

In the meantime, on the topic, new FACTS from Russia Smiley

- The State Duma on Tuesday adopted amendments to the law "On the procedure for exit and entry", expanding the powers of border guards in the work with passports of citizens traveling abroad.
The passport is subject to "seizure within the limits of competence by the court, investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, executive power in the field of internal affairs and its territorial bodies, border bodies of the Federal Security Service, customs authorities," the law states.

Now no one will escape the fate of giving their life to the fantasy of a crazy pathetic parody of the Führer Smiley

- The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, a pitiful parody of the Fuhrer, demanded that measures be taken in response to the mass emigration of citizens that swept the country after the start of the war and the announcement of mobilization (which, according to the patient, had never happened in Russia).
"In connection with this, it is necessary to take additional measures to create attractive financial, social and other mechanisms for preserving human capital, reducing the outflow of the population of the Russian Federation abroad," says the decree.

- News about the growing well-being of Russians Smiley
In Nizhny Tagil, a Uralvagon plant worker cut himself in front of his superiors. According to the worker, he pays the mortgage and feeds his family, but at the same time he received ten times less salary for April - 11 thousand rubles.

PS Uralvagon is the "biggest" according to the Kremlin's propaganda, producing "unparalleled tanks" and other scrap metal. About which be.open spoke, as an object of the military industry of Russia, which works in 3 shifts and by itself, brings excellent income Smiley

- A little about the work of propaganda mass media, which consume huge funds from the Russian budget:
Z-channels made fun of the allegedly killed Ukrainian "Kraken fighter", insulting him in every possible way
Only then did it become clear that this was a Wagnerian who died near Bakhmut, and the photo was sent to the "military officials" by a Ukrainian activist. Everything had to be deleted urgently Smiley

- A few words about society and a beautiful, rich life Smiley
Irkutsk teachers refused to pay their salaries for the "special operation". To understand - everything is so good in Russia and according to plans - that they introduced mandatory, compulsory, deductions from the wages of civil servants, for the failed SVO Smiley

- Pupils of four schools in Moscow will start studying African languages from September 1, 2023. Schoolchildren will study Swahili, Amharic and Yoruba. A little later, they promise to add other African languages.
At this time, African children are learning... English, guess why? Smiley

- The Federal Tax Service faced a collapse in personal income tax collections — a key source of money for regional budgets, which provides subjects with every third ruble of their own income.
According to the results of the first quarter of 2023, personal income tax revenues fell by 20.2%, the Ministry of Finance reported in a preliminary assessment of the implementation of the consolidated budget of the Russian Federation.
In monetary terms, personal income tax collections decreased by 250 billion rubles and amounted to 950 billion, and their fall was the second largest among all types of state income: only oil and gas tax collections fell more strongly - by 45% compared to January-March 2022.

...and you can check every point and make sure of its reality Smiley
