The African population is diverse. It is estimated to be roughly 1.3 billion individuals, but I think this figure is too low. With a population of over 54 nations, many of which are densely populated, Africa is the second most populous continent in the world. It is challenging to determine the accurate population of Africa because each of these nations has its own unique demographics and dynamics.
In estimating the African population, there are few reliable statistics. Since many African nations have limited access to data collection and processing methods, the information they do have is frequently stale or lacking crucial information. Secondly, it is challenging to precisely track population migrations, births, and deaths in many African countries due to the lack of accurate demographic records. This implies that it is challenging to determine accurate population figures for Africa.

I have basically 0 knowledge of how they do a census in Africa, or if there's any scientific method at all to learning the population of Africa.  I would however believe that the population numbers are hilariously wrong.  Not just for the challenge of tracking population, but because the birth rates in African countries are as much as 5x higher than birth rates in some Western countries.  I could see scientists not taking this into account and sticking with their estimates as if they were correct using Western standards.  Africa is quite a bit different than the rest of the world and as smart as scientists are, they can be pretty dumb when they all get on the same wavelength.  Look at the vaccine.  Any self thinking individual could tell that was going to backfire, yet plenty of liberal scientists are still saying it's the right thing to do.  These idiots will literally make fun of anti-vaxxers until they fall over and die from their rushed unsafe vaccines.  I doubt they can accurately count a continent they don't even understand or step outside their established population models to think for themselves.

The way I see it, the African population should be estimated first at local level, then nationwide and then it would be matter of adding numbers. Because how things are evolving around the world and the role of Africa as continent, i would not give much attention to general population estimations there, and rather just collect the information necessary to give people of those countries the opportunities they need to work for their motherland and improve the economy. There are other things which are priorities.

Also, assuming the African people is wrongly estimated, would not that mean there is people in some countries of Africa with out identification documents or birth certification ?

This implies that it is challenging to determine accurate population figures for Africa.
In my country, the population of various states is politicized. Each state or region always overestimates its population so that it could be used to manipulate electoral results during elections. It is also estimated because it would be used as a strong bargaining tool during revenue allocation. The census results are always manipulated to favor the tribe of either the sitting president's region or that of the governor.

Some Africans don't have access to hospitals which has led to many unregistered births and deaths. But many governmental and non-governmental organizations are focused on carrying out reliable analysis, estimation, and prediction of the population of Africa.

All these factors have led to inaccurate or lack of data to correctly estimate Africa's population. I am sure Africa's population would keep increasing due to its cultural and religious beliefs.

The matter is not limited to African countries only, but all countries that are witnessing political and security unrest, with which it is difficult to collect sufficient data. This is in addition to the fact that many regions in Africa live in semi-isolated tribes and ethnic groups that are not able to enumerate death and birth rates, and therefore it will not be possible to determine the percentage of life expectancy at birth.

I believe that the data that comes out in the official reports is based mainly on speculation drawn from statistics that date back to ancient times, including the colonial era.

The last time census was done in Nigeria was around 2006 and it was a paper and pencil method of data collection and since then we have not had any census. Even that which was held in 2006 wasn't accurate because not everyone was counted. I still recall then we were mandated to stay at home so the exercise can be successfully conducted but yet many people went about their usual business and were not counted. Except Africa upgrade to the use of advanced method the total number will never be accurate.

This implies that it is challenging to determine accurate population figures for Africa.
There is massive underdevelopment in majorly all parts of Africa and I believe that not every part of Africa has been explored and even accessible to people from outside to even have a proper head count. Some settlements in Africa are unaccessible and even have not yet been discovered.  For that reason I agree with the topic that the population in Africa is wrongly estimated and will have a huge difference from an actual number if a head count can be actually and properly conducted.

Yabut, if we could find the methods like here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5434478.msg61596209#msg61596209 - Africans being as emotionally inclined as they are, would love it. And nobody would worry about population, because nobody could keep up counting anyway. Cheesy

This is obvious, and I think it's not only Africa with the same kind of problem. Developing countries and regions in Asia and South America may also be faced with the same challenge. In some very remote areas where thing like Births happen at home and no records are made in hospitals, it surely is shard to know the exact number of people or even the population growth rate

This was evident during the COVID-19 pandemic stats tracking and also the immunization data tracking.
What we are looking at are just estimations which might be very far off the exact numbers.

The African continent is one of the most underdeveloped if not the worst underdeveloped continent in the world. With lack of availability to correct and accurate statistical data due to inaccessibility to local areas, the actual number of populations in those regions can’t be determined correctly, it will only be based on assumptions. The birth rate there is increasingly high with people not paying attention to birth control policy. So data of the total population in Africa is arguably incorrect and the population exceeds the amount we are been told they are.

For reasons such as stated in the OP, is why the population counts are always given as an estimate and this doesn't Resides only in Africa, it extends across all the other continents with exception of the Antarctic.

There is no way you can get the accurate population of a continent or even country at any given time. People die as much as they arr been birth. Not to mention, there are tribes that aren't accessible (either landlocked or are just left alone because they haven't been contacted).

I have basically 0 knowledge of how they do a census in Africa, or if there's any scientific method at all to learning the population of Africa.  I would however believe that the population numbers are hilariously wrong.
A head-to-head count is what goes and the results are always going to come out wrong due to factors as stated in OP. These counts aren't done all at once and as to the fact, some persons are usually not available at the time, some others are counted twice and some others aren't accessible. Hence, we just rely on estimates to get a possible result.

Africa is the 2nd largest mainland in the world in terms of both size and population but they lag behind other countries in everything and thus their population isn't counted duly. But africa's population is growing at an impregnable pace and observing the situation, the future of africa's population is dire and intimidating. The population of africa as a total is growing like an explosion. In addition, the population chart of the world ischanging it not be possible to exclude poverty in africa, but it'll also be fully insolvable to give food for so numerous people if this situation continues.

I can't believe all to say Daddy the estimate off population size in Africa can be calculated accurately because in some countries in Africa does not have or conduct a census in their country so to get the estimate value of African continent population size do we take the measure of 5 years before accurate result can be issued

It is possible to have the estimate all the population size of African country but the problem is the time Factor all the time measure that will be taken before they can achieve the process off knowing the total number of people who is living in which of the country before the addition will come up so one country alone cannot be used to compare to other countries the population size so I believe that you take them time for the woman's total aggregate  of population

Time is not the only factor affecting the wrong population estimates in Africa.
They're other factors like poor child birth records, poor Technology, poor roads and ignorance. Are the major problems of wrong population estimates here in Africa.
Hence, western world estimate whosever they like as our estimated population without proper census.most times they do it to reduce Africa population. I know about is bigger than the map they drew as map of Africa. There are so many wrongly estimates in Africa.

What advanced methods would you suggest? Because in Nigeria the present economic situation would not allow people stay at home in order to be counted. And I'm not sure if there's any technological advancement that would be effective in Nigeria as a result of the economic state. So like the OP said, I'm not sure if the total number would be accurate anytime soon.

See, now? To get religion cleaned up - the thread at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5433917.0 - why not make the church the overseer of the counting? It would make them feel important enough that they might clean up their religion act.

African population will always be wrongly estimated reasons because
The census done by the government officials are not always correct, their results are either over populated or under populated, where as some many citizens don't comply, while some will even lie about the number of siblings they have,

Again the numbers of birth and death people in Africa are not documented, some family don't even have a birth/death certificate of their siblings (family members)

So I think the population will be always be estimated wrongly..

The estimated figure of 1.3 billion individuals is far too low. I don't understand why the countries of Africa aren't taking proper measurements to assess the exact figure to count the population of the subjected countries. The governments must take steps against the same.
