I think everyone is aware that ads sometimes have malware injecting something into your computer, and clicking pop-ups might also help stole your crypto if you are not careful, well here is another victim that shows even an experienced person sometimes makes mistakes, and teach us to double check everything before clicking, because once you have done it, there is no turning back, this is for newbies to be more aware of where they click or website they go.

It's not as good as using the uBlock Origin plugin, but the Brave browser works decently in my opinion. Yea it gets a lot of bad rap because they have a token, but you don't really need to have the token for it to work to its full potential.

The main issue with a lot of these so-called "experienced" influencers is the fact that most of them, don't even know the basics...

Since we are dealing with attacks everyday although we don't know that they were still trying to brute force our computer, what should we learn?

• learn to check logs
• Monitor activities in your network, you dont need to be a pro
• Learn how to block ports
• We are in digital currency and making mistakes is no excuse since information is everywhere, like youtube,google
• Use opensource firewall, and watch videos, like im using an opensource firewall

The big mistake is why did he click the ads? For me, if there are ads shown in my search result or app I never click them to avoid potential phishing attacks or malware.
I guess after what happened to him he will learn and change his habit just like what happened to me after being scammed by cloud mining sites I stopped and never invest any more in any investment site(We know all people are the same we always learn from mistakes).

If you're active on faucets better take extra precautions you can use the brave browser which blocked ads and trackers I have been active on three faucets and I am fully aware of these pop-ups which is why I never use short links rewards of the faucets I'm working,  beside Brave Browser I'm using two very efficient antiviruses Kaspersky and Mcafee.

Linux I read is very good I would like to learn that, but right now for you to protect yourself and your wallets from intrusion you have to level up your security, and invest in your security because you are on your own when it comes to securing your assets.

I'm literally adding this ad-block right now. Ads are very risky especially when you click it wrongfully. Having ad-blocker may make the risk lesser.

When it comes to advertisements we should always double check the link or else go to a new tab and search about that ad since you're risking your login credentials.
I use brave browser when it comes to crypto cause it way safer than any browsers out there and I only uses chrome when comes to social media. Protect your self, stay away from shady and not secured websites.

Since there was even mining in ads, I am surprised people still don't use ad blockers (especially ublock origin).
I think that it's only Chrome for Android that doesn't allow extensions/uBlock origin, but one can just install Firefox then.

Ah, and if one knows that he will ever click on an Ad or unsafe website, then he must have his funds on a (properly set up) hardware wallet.
Oh well, mishaps like this are good advertising for what one should learn to do at very least in 2023 in the world of crypto and internet.

What if $1k isn't a big deal for them? Speaking of influencers is a tens of thousands of dollars in one click business, $1k nft collections are part of the small amount they are likely to trade on a daily basis. Maybe this reason is not enough to make them have cold wallets for their collection, until valuable lessons like hacking them experience first.

Yeah maybe the case is like that and this will be a huge lesson for everyone.But..

If that is the case I would prefer a hardware wallet or multi-sig to my hot wallet take example I gonna using Safepal S1 hardware wallet so before any transaction occurred there is always approval first through an hardware wallet.

I'm not sure that Ublock origin can work on a smartphone, looks like it's built for PC users only so, which AdBlock is best for android phone users without getting the phone rooted or exploit because that's what my research is telling me, that ad blocker works better on a rooted android phone and I'm not ready to root mine.

No adblock for android is the most recommended so far for unrooted devices, just found adguard^[1] (if you are willing to pay) which I think is at least what you asked for. While not open source, they do have a github page to track their development activity^[2].

If not willing to pay they can use opera or brave which comes with a built-in ad blocker in their browser so enabling it can save a lot of headaches due to annoying pop-ups and ad page redirection but based on my experience its not completely to avoid ads in android (never used paid apps for blocking ads) so we have to be little more cautious while surfing unfamiliar websites and click back when pop up shows with no regrets at all.

Totally forgot about this one piece of software — when I was a total Android junkie 3 years ago(rooting and with custom ROMs and all), AdAway worked really really well in my experience. It was pretty much like the uBlock Origin but for the entire Android phone instead of a singular browser.

Aside from installing adblockers, using brave browser or any similar browser that automatically adsense ads. Practice how to keep your files safe.
So that whenever you're unaware that there's an app that you've mistakenly installed and there's malware and if it starts to monitor all of your activities, you've got your files protected elsewhere which it can't be monitored based on your browsing activity. All of the suggestions are helpful but there will always be folks that haven't reached by this info on how the be safe from malicious ads, links, emails and stuff.
