Is this platform in in early stage, so developers are working hard to someday gonna work properly to their users?

They've been around for more than two years, so they're definitely not in the early stages of development, but they've always had a lot of bugs ^{[the same thing also applies to their "Stack Duo" app]} and that's why I've rarely used both of their apps in the past few months.

Is tor enabled a default option that is primarily set by devs?

AFAICS, Tor is disabled by default.

Have any of you tried to request a specific payment amount on the receive tab, but when you press a period or comma you get an error stating an invalid amount?

In the country where i live, we use commas instead of dots to separate decimal values, but in addition to giving this error, there is no way to insert the dot depending on the compatibility of the application to make the request, the keyboard only offers the comma option.

Stack Wallet has fixed this bug, at least in the iOS version, now when using a comma as a decimal separator, a QR code with the invoice is generated.



I think this wallet will continue to improve and get better and better.

It appears that Cypher Stack's team has become active again in releasing updates in the past month or so, and in one of their recent updates ^[v2.2.0], they finally added duress mode ^{[not included on Stack Duo (yet)]}: Step-by-step guide ^{[turn your volume all the way up]
Note: Regardless of the added security feature, I still don't recommend keeping a large amount of funds in your mobile wallets!}

Although it's a mobile wallet, I don't like to relying solely on PIN encryption, depending on the pin configuration, can be insecure. (unless theress a limit on failed attempts, after which the data is wiped, similar to most HWs). I'd like PIN to be optional and also could use ASCII character as passwords/passphrases.

It seems the operation of Dures Pin is similar to the plausible deniability feature present in Bluewallet, where it is possible to create an Encrypted Storage.

The reset pin feature on a certain number of failed attempts that some wallets have is a preventive measure against brute-force attempts and IMO it's the last thing someone should trigger when dealing with real-life threats ^{[they'd know you're hiding something (it makes everything worse), so the best way to deal with such situations is to hide it in plain sight (durres mode)]}.

There is also a version of Stack desktop wallet, and you can enter any strong password you want there.
I don't like using any mobile wallets for larger amount of coins, except if they are connected to hardware wallets just for signing transactions.

I just tried downloading it for windows11, but the windows flagged the binary as malware (likely a false positive), so I couldn't test it. The Stack team could make their binaries available signed with their pgp public key, as well as their own public key.

I had tested the desktop version sometime last year. Back then, the wallet only generated taproot bech32m receiving addresses.

A small update for Duo users:

Stack finally released another update after a very long time... It appears that it had something to do with the app store denying their releases ^[source] and Diego having a hard time with how builds were made ^[source].
^{- BTW, it's worth noting that duress mode is now also part of the Stack Duo (not sure why they didn't include it on any of the recent release notes) and they've finally expanded Stack Duo beyond Android and iOS (source).}

You might want to correct your spelling of "duress" to how it should be properly written, because if someone searches for duress in the context of wallets in general or Stack wallet in particular, your post with incorrect durres won't show up in the search hits.

I don't pay attention and visit x.com anymore, so won't read what their issue is with the app store. I just wonder what takes them so long to remedy it, because it's quite an essential thing to be able to swiftly publish app updates if it is needed.

Thank you for spotting the typographical error... It appears that I've made that mistake on two occasions in this topic alone.

They didn't specify the exact problem that the app store had with them, but they did mention it was for "silly reasons". I should've probably rephrased the previous update to make the main culprit clearer for those who prefer not to use X, but it's worth noting that the person who's responsible for making those updates ^[Diego] mentioned the previous build structure was 80% of the reason for the lack of Duo updates.
