What you did is done. You may did one or two mistake or many mistakes but when you had the gut to admit it, I will consider it forgivable. When someone seek opportunity, I am all to give it. If it is first mistake then they get second and may be third chance. But if it was not first mistake but after many mistakes they realized they need to make themselves clean then you have the last chance.

There are many mistakes you did so far. Some may be unknowingly and some willingly. The sent merit to your sister (if it is) then may be a mistake before you realized, As you said you never did that again, good. But the contest was not a mistake. And some other also were not mistakes. You continued because you thought you are not going to get caught. But since you are now under the net, it worth to see what you do after. If you can prove yourself a word keeper then no harm is going to happen. Even if anyone tag you now eventually they will remove it. But if you do the mistake again then I think everyone will realize that you did not learn anything.

By the way, sending merit to wife, child, brother, sister, girlfriend, boyfriend, sexfriend, analfriend, nanny, granny, cat, dog, lion, tiger are not prohibited. It's only discouraged as long as it's your own sMerit. If you were a merit source then it was a different discussion. However the community have a standard and from that standard sending merit to your alt is not something everyone will look from a white area.

Leave the board and stop responding everything. You have nothing to prove now, your action will speak in the future. Accept whatever happen now but make sure next time you are not in the mess again.

To be honest the excuse of brother and sister account is very common here. Because when someone is caught with an alternative account they give this excuse.

So far no one has given you a tag, I doubt anyone will red tag you. This reminds of me of when naim027 was caught doing the same thing and he admitted to it. The community didn’t tag him then but his subsequent actions led him to getting banned. Recently someone raised concerns about the number of accounts (possible farm) that racked merits from the pumpkin contests, yours was one of the account listed. The OP has already admitted creating the accounts in question, which makes them his alt accounts. The act of exchanging merits between these accounts and participating in a contest with multiple accounts constitutes cheating. Should we believe that he no longer has control over these accounts? There is no evidence, such as log records of password changes, to suggest that these accounts have been transferred to other individuals.

There is no remorse other than fear of not being able to use the forum freely. That IMO is not a valid excuse for your actions. You would never have told on yourself had you not been scared of being caught. For this I must treat you like every other cheater and tag you. Maybe I can reconsider the tag later on down the road, but we will cross that bridge at a later date.

I do totally deserve it! If I was honest from the beginning and told everyone the truth, maybe I won't have to see this day... So thank you for tagging me.. This has been a great lesson for me!

I have decided to make my tags neutrals on both the accounts with the understanding that if the user fucks up just once i will reinstate the red tags. I don't want other users to feel like we opened the door for them to apologize and forgive them because it will give the wrong impression of how DT works and also make us all look naive as hell.

I don't think you got anything to prove your point here and maybe the neutral tag will remain for the rest of the lifetime on your account. A neutral tag is completely okay imo, it will atleast remind everyone about your clutter created in the future, to decide for themselves how to deal with you. A friend of mine introduced me to this forum and I introduced many of my friends to it too. This is why I find the friend/relative excuse plausible, depending on the case.
However, all those who invited to join bitcointalk created their accounts and read the rules by themselves. If I had the slightest doubt they aren't smart enough to figure out how to do it by themselves, I would have never invited them in first place.
I can't tell with total certainty whether OP is telling the truth or not, but I shared the above because some members deserve to be given the benefit of the doubt.

They know already. I asked their permission before sharing those information. And nothing of this is hidden as it is already accessible through their bounty works and I don't think this will upset them in any way.
