Yeah, those with firm discipline are the only ones who can beat the casino. But, those are rare people because once you got used to gambling the money, you will keep on coming back without even thinking twice. Like OP said, even jackpot winners had been losing their money in a year or two, there may be cases where the winners ended up not even enjoying the profits but only thinking about going back to the casino to win more, which we know is a bad idea considering the house edge.
