I agree, Figueroa has a very good chin, he was able to absorb the strong punch of Magsayo that's why he keep on coming forward despite being hit. And Brandon strategy is go to the body of Mark because they know that it will take a toll on him in later rounds.

There's nothing to be ashamed of, as Magsayo did his job in the ring to win. It's just that Figueroa was the better fighter there, and he won a unanimous victory. Magsayo also had some problems, as he was deducted points. It's not good for a struggling boxer to win and aggravate the problem more.

When the rematch of this two players will happen,it was not sure the same results will come.The reason for this is the stamina of the player was not same on different day.Magsayo game was different now,he lost two matches is not an expected one.To beat the another boxer,he should keep the stamina by the good food like meat daily and avoid of alcohol.Some boxer was not in concentration on their health.Because health is important one for the boxer as compared to the normal man.With health the stamina of the players should keep in mind.Even the Magsayo come back after the long back,the two loss of the matches not expected one by their fans.

In the unofficial scorecards of the commentators, they scored it 114-112 in favor of Figueroa and if not for the point deductions, it could have been a draw in the unofficial scorecards and that point deduction by the ref is also questionable as he did not warn Magsayo not to hold or whatever that warrant a deduction if he keeps on doing it.

Anyways, that's boxing and it's understandable that the ref and judges will favor Figueroa as he is more popular in the US, also Mark Magsayo was not so impressive in that fight.

They will review the fight for sure, and maybe Magsayo will realize his shortcomings for not listening to his coach.
For his next fight, he should really be prepared and should start by meeting the required weight of the division.

I know right, what the hell was he doing, his stamina is also one of his issues too, he really needs to fix that problem, I hope his coach focuses on his stamina problem. Magsayo could have won this Fight, that being said Figueroa deserves the win. I would love to see a rematch but right now Magsayo needs to check his mental health, a back-to-back loss can have a massive impact on a fighter.

- he didn't fix the issue on his stamina
- bad strategy of keep on holding, first time to see him doing that
- distance, he try to counter but it seems he can't find the distance, majority of his shots are not hitting when the try to counter and that could really led him to being tired late in the rounds
- we said that weight is not an issue when he scale more than the desired weight, but it seems it has affected him as well

It was a brawl and Figueroa took advantage of the clinches to score points taking the round.  I do agree that if Magsayo just fight with his own range, he could have won the fight.  I think Magsayo wanted to KO Figueroa resulting in a toe to toe fight. I was like wth with those barrage of punches done by Magsayo that does little damage and consume lots of energy.

Stamina is always been a problem for Magsayo so it is not surprising that is is already tired on the later part of the fight.  Those multiple punches eats lots of stamina, he could just do a 1 -2 punch, Figueroa isn't that hard to hit especially when Magsayo is in his range.

maybe the feeling of weight drain got on magsayo in the later rounds. but in any case, a lot of users from the forum are rooting for magsayo, but don't know if they actually betted on him. magsayo knew he should have done something more on this fight. the scorecards are also way too wide for me. even with point deductions. so this fight should serve magsayo an inspiration for his next fight and do what he thinks would rise his standing in this division.
