Hi @cygan, @icopress,
I think I am going to join you guys, but I just need to figure out whether I will actually be available on those Sundays.
Do you have an idea when the tournament is going to start roughly in terms of the date/month?
And the price (besides the pool money) is the first version of the Icarus cards that do not yet serve as cold wallets right?
Cheers!

Thank you guys for reviving the poker theme for the Bitcointalk community. suck at poker but I'll put a prize on my head each week to the tune of 0.015BTC which means that if you take me out in any of the weeks you are basically freerolling the rest of the tournament.
This is the best motivation there is!) Thnx)

I don't know if it has already been set, but I would definitely suggest Sundays (not Saturdays) as the date. This way you have the option to play a few more tournaments on the big platforms at the same time. One-tabling a single table for hours is a bit boring in the long run, haha. Doesn't Betnomi also have a bigger Sunday tournament which is open to everyone? And are there actually rules for multi-tabling there? Or can you only open a limited number of tables? Also, I would keep our tournament series shorter rather than longer (and then restart), otherwise some members might not want to participate because they don't have time on one or two Sundays, for example.

Well, even if someone misses a round or two (and I guess each of us missed at least one or two games per series) can still reach the final table. Of course, if he plays well in all other rounds. I guess that's the point in the series, to reach that sponsored final table! I am not sure if there is a limited number of tables, I never played more than 2 or 3 tables at once at Betnomi. I think there is no limit by Betnomi, limit comes from too many opened tabs to follow, in my case, more than 2-3 would be too much for me... As Yahoo says, it's impossible to please everyone... I don't care if it's Saturday or Sunday, it's almost the same for me, I will try to find time in any case.

i think we should plan sunday as our tournament day. on saturdays it can be that one or the other is invited to some party or to his family or simply wants to spend saturday with his sweetheart and as for the number of tables, i would depend on the number of participants in the tournament. for example, if there are 12 participants, 2 tables with 6 players each would be enough - or if there are 15, 3 tables with 5 players each. how high should the buy-in be ... would 0.001 be okay for all? 0.005 would be too high for me in general ... that would therefore deter some participants

What about structure and approximate date of the series? I think 6-8 min is the best option for such tournaments. Hope it will start soon...

Did we already speak about Rebuys/Addons? Will this be a thing aswell? I guess sundays are fine, is there a rough schedule in mind? So we start in March or rather later? Towards the summer it could be more difficult again, because then you like to enjoy the time outside unless you live in a sunny place!

i think we should plan sunday as our tournament day. on saturdays it can be that one or the other is invited to some party or to his family or simply wants to spend saturday with his sweetheart -snip- Sundays would also be best for me. Friday or Saturday there are often other things on my to-do list. and as for the number of tables, i would depend on the number of participants in the tournament. for example, if there are 12 participants, 2 tables with 6 players each would be enough - or if there are 15, 3 tables with 5 players each. -snip-
That sounds good. However, the tables should not be too empty. 4 or 5 players at a table should be the minimum. how high should the buy-in be ... would 0.001 be okay for all? -snip-
Would be okay for me. So we start in March or rather later? -snip-
In my opinion, we shouldn't start later than march. As soon as it gets warm, many people will no longer have time.

But yes, that is exactly the point that I mean. Until then there are still many things to clarify like the structure, official dates and much more. I don't even want to know what still has to be clarified in the background between icopress and Betnomi. I just hope that there won't be any major delays there.

Sunday sounds great then! What about just setting up some dates and see how many people would be able to join. If almost no one joins, we just set different dates. Does Betnomi need some time to set everything up, or would it be possible to start in a few weeks? I would love to start already this sunday! I am actually playing a live event at the Kings Casino this weekend. Some other Bitcoiners there?

Actually, I really like the game of poker, especially participating in tournaments, but unfortunately I don't have enough money to join this competition, but I would be happy if I could watch this poker tournament. Those who will play later are forum users.

-snip- what we have not yet talked about is the distribution of points on the respective tournament days... some suggestions?
My suggestion would be to get points for the first 10 places. 1st place gets 10 points, 2nd place gets 9 points and 10th place gets 1 point. Of course, that's only good if we have at least 15 or more participants. I think that's how it was done in the other poker tournaments.

Of course, that's only good if we have at least 15 or more participants. I think that's how it was done in the other poker tournaments. Yes, it was like that before... I guess it can be the same, the top places get more points, and in the end, the first 6/8/9 (depending on the final table size) will get the seat on the final table. buy-in: 0.001BTC
0.001 is $22.5 at the moment, but we all know that can change. Buy-in is displayed in dollars in my case (or it can be euros, as I remember that needs to be checked upon registration), so it would be easier to set buy-in in dollars, like $20 per game... maybe?! time: 18:00 cet
Well, this time will be tricky for me... I am not sure how others feel about it, but can we move it to earlier or later?

I think 0.001 is fine for all, not too big and not too small. And I agree with you about the 0.005 buy-in, that's just too much for some users, we could say isn't a friendly buy-in at all, if the goal is to have the biggest amount of forum users then let's go for 0.001 or even smaller. Will the tournament have a re-buy option?

Entry of 0.001 BTC is fair for all and I think the only issue for me is the timing being the weekend, as I will be busy throughout the month on weekends but then let's see when the date and time will be on the weekend. -hopefully, I will be able to work my way around it to take part in this round of the poker tournament as I have missed previous ones due to a lack of poker skills.

That still needs to be clarified.
I would say yes, but only for the first 30 or 60 minutes. Either way, there should be a time limit for the re-buy so that the tournament doesn't run indefinitely. That would be my suggestion.

which day/s: always sundays time: 18:00 cet tournament length: 5 weeks (4 games + 1 final table) buy-in: 0.001BTC round length: 8 minutes stake: 8000 chips re-buys: yes/no?
point distribution:
I personally don't like re-buys(especially unlimited) that's why I always play KO tourneys. One rebuy should be normal as Yahoo did in the last series.

so i would also be in favor if a rebuy would be possible but as CoinEraser has already mentioned only for a limited time. i would suggest 45 minutes and after this time would be a rebuy no longer possible - the amount of the rebuy would then also be $20 back to the dollar or bitcoins discussion - icopress told me that the poker interface on betnomi only supports fiat currencies and not crypto (like the free bets) so we would have to send (depending on the BTC price) as much satoshis to our betnomi acc so that at least $20 is available as buyin for the respective tournaments and one more note about the Icarus card. this card will be distributed/sent to all participants at the final table of each tournament and not only at the last final game as some users here might have thought
