I may be ignorant, but I doubt Brazil or Argentina are totalitarian regimes.
A bunch nowadays but most of them in the future. It's something that of course can't happen overnight. They do it because of the US sanctions, but the problem starts when too many countries will be under US sanctions.
And it's not only about sanctions because countries like India have other purposes
Why?
Because it's a matter of to be the "super economic power" worldwide. Countries have been doing it since the end of the cold war. And that's what the USA are aggressively doing since Bill Clinton, more after the financial crisis in 2008, and it was more clear during Trump.
So, countries have been disadvantaged in their economic and financial plans by the use of the dollar
Follow the money. Countries need an alternative for economic and financial reasons.
