Last 40 minutes I spend on this thread and read enough about BSFL I really like this idea now want to ask first and only question may I have chance in Season 9 because I check 3 members are already out due to absences.

If its possible then I can start soon my journey because I like sports related quizzes and competitions and have enough experience about soccer and tennis both are having good space here, and I am sure I can do something good at coming season.

Places in S9 will be awarded to better forum accounts and earlier sign ups. So sooner you sign up the better and you still have some time to work on account as well So far you would be in since we have 4 people out and 2 new sign ins but we can't guarantee a spot anymore since the time we reached full 4 Divisions. So far we never left anyone out if it wasn't brand new account so chances are on your side.

Since Heliovaara/Patten got eliminated from the Australian Open before the deadline, I don't think that part of the tennis question will be counted.

This last second loss against @Rikafip was quite painful to say the least, especially given what the situation in the table was. When questions like waterpolo come up, I am usually lost. I don't know if anyone here follows that, so I think it's the same for pretty much anyone.

Not that it helped me much but I have watched maybe half the games in this Euro, all Croatia games plus all "derby games" and last 4 games (semi-finals + medals). My kid loves Waterpolo and we are planing on going watching some matches live soon.

I still believe Greece should have taken this one, but Hungary against them had incredible shooting stats. Then came the final and they were not even half as good against Serbia so it was one way street.

Yes I think I remember you guys have options to watch water polo right? Big difference is it's huge in Croatia. Just checked the rankings and Croatia is 2nd. Germany is 17th. I actually think it is a cool sport and I would watch it from time to time if Germany was involved with anything of importance on the international stages. But once when we had the first questions about it, I tried to find a stream just to get an idea and damn it was horrible to find a stream that worked even for a minute, so didn't really work out eventually.

Can you guys watch it on free TV or stream?

@maamanda : only 4 different questions, this is rough because we seems to be on the same brain wavelength or something and 3 of the 4 different answers were not even that different to begin with. Except for Inter -Dortmund, all 3 other questions are gonna be settled on weekend so its gonna be a long wait until we get the winner

How are even got the same answers on two 50-50 questions and tennis h2h

In Croatia our national TV is broadcasting water polo games because we are usually pretty good in that sport. But I don't like to watch it because a lot of things happens underwater. I usually can't figure out why was foul awarded - you see a lot of water foam and suddenly a player is suspended for 20 seconds.

As long as it is a part of a question, it remains valid - meaning that 'No' will be graded as correct.
That is why there is VAR - sometimes when we post questions we hope that low odds pairs will pass - otherwise it's really difficult to have questions that vary a bit.

In these situations we are ok with minor advantages given to players that track what's happening.

This is a bit different - this was our mistake. That game was always supposed to be finished before the deadline so voiding it was the best call.
The tennis one had a chance for Heliovaara/Patten to go through, they lost, so we decided to reward those that paid attention.

Mafia does not profit from this decision - our opponents have No as well.

Oh great it was only for the h2h the question about Mane scoring. Im 1 -0 behind in the h2h now but i can recover.

Good news for you, we decided to void that part of the question. We will grade only remaining 4 goal scorers.

If the game was still on at deadline we would have let it stay, but since it was well over, we decided void was most fair solution.

Basically, we don't accept Newbie members. Be active in the thread and meaningfully contribute and I'll rank you up myself if you deserve the merits.
There is plenty of time until the start of new season, so if you prove yourself as a good addition to community, you will surely be a part of BSFL.

We will edit the rules a bit, yeah. Basically - we did not count on us making mistakes

To explain a bit - if it is a H2H question the idea is for it always to stand. So, if a player is knocked out in tennis/snooker/whatever earlier, if a player to score does not play/is injured or suspended, it will be graded.
If it is a mistake in writing the question like it was with Sadio Mane in Round 8 (meaning that at the time of writing the question there is a 100% chance that the answer will be known before the deadline), then we will void that one.

If it is however a regular question (for example if Heliovaara/Patten to win was a Yes/No) and they are out of the tournament before the deadline, then it will be voided.

AFAIK, it's always a bad round for us when we meet your team, we hope this time will be different from the past. I never thought we would both be at the bottom of the table, if our team lose, we'll enter the relegation zone & if your team win, your team might get out of that lowly zone. Tomorrow will be the first to determine who will take the lead, Inter Milan is more favored in terms of odds, that's the reason why I choose them to win & I believe we'll take the first lead.

I have some questions about registration, divisions, and fees. If this has already been asked, I apologize, I haven't been able to keep up...

If a new participant enters through Division 4, can they be promoted to Division 3 in the same season?

Also, is the registration fee for Divisions 1, 2, and 3 always the same, or can it vary from season to season?

If a regular question is settled before the deadline, it will be voided. When it comes to H2H questions, they will be counted even if they are settled before the deadline.
In the unlikely event we make a mistake and ask a question that is guaranteed to be settled before the deadline, it will be voided, whether it's a regular question or part of a H2H question.
