You don't have to upgrade your side job because you want to invest more into BTC, you should want to upgrade your side job if you can because you want to give yourself a good life, and if there is enough of it left, you can put it into BTC investment and accumulate other assets as well.

If 0.1 BTC is the amount you can afford to lose, then it is enough for you. It may be dust for a lot of people in this forum, but when investing in BTC, it is your own pocket you should be looking at, and your own source of income. O.1 BTC is a lot of money right now in my humble opinion, and it would be more in the future, so it is okay for long term holding.

I’m always in support of one having multiple streams of income, it will be a plus if you can find a side hustle you can manage alongside your regular job. It’s good you’re spending your extra income on buying bitcoins, I’m opposed to taking loans to buy bitcoins. 1.  Are you contented to only have 0.1 BTC?
2.  Do you have extra funds to buy more?
3.  Are you comfortable spending the amount of money for an additional amount of BTC?

You see, you are the only one who can decide whether 0.1 BTC is good enough for you.  At some point you get more side jobs for extra income, I believe you will be able to buy more than 0.1 BTC.

You are right, it is a totally wrong decision to take loan to buy bitcoin but any thing other than that is welcome and having multiple streams of income is indeed the fastest way to get wealth fast, but in the search for a side hustle, we should also take in consideration some factors that may impede on that negatively, so let not get carried away.with the fantasy statement about a.side hustle because some of them will overstress you to the point that you lose focus on your ultimate goal of bitcoin accumulation.
It better to build knowledge on financial management before we verge into anything that requires our investment both in time and money and we shou have a scale of preference in a miner that we don't overly stress our mental capacity.

I don't know neither what's enough money according to you, neither what 1 BTC will worth in the long term.

However, I do know this. There will never be more than 21 million bitcoins, and there are currently 8 billion humans, 5 billion of which are aged between 15 and 64, more than half of which don't live decently (with good healthcare, food, shelter etc.). So, about 2.5 billion people make the rules. About 2 percent of those are millionaires according to google. So, mathematically speaking, owning a bitcoin puts you in the 1 percent of the hierarchy. Practically speaking, owning one bitcoin is a shitload amount of money for the most people.

That's of course if we assume that it'll be global reserve asset, in each millionaire's portfolio. So yeah, 0.1 BTC is a good chunk for the long term.

Any amount is enough for long term holding as you get to profit if the price multiplies.
If bitcoin grows by 200%, someone holding $1,000 and one holding $10,000 would each get to double what they had before, which is better than the alternative of having inflation eat away at your holdings.

0.1BTC is about $2,500 in today's market and would give good ROI should bitcoin enter another bullish market.

If owning any more bitcoin puts you in a position where you might get yourself in to financial trouble then I would say you’ve already figured out how much bitcoin that you yourself should own and have “at risk”. We all have to learn to only own as much as we are willing to lose for the most part when it comes to volatile investments. So if .1BTC is that amount, then that is what I would stick with.

If you need more money it's better to have an extra job or side hustle just like what the above said in order to gain more money to add up to your investment. But what can you do in this time where you don't have that extra money?

Don't think of taking a loan just to invest in Bitcoin since it will make you suffer on the interest part plus the monthly payment. Invest only on what you can afford to lose. We never know how much Bitcoin will be worth during the next bull run.

Whatever money you can afford to buy bitcoin, do it. Any amount of bitcoin you own is actually a good thing, regardless if it's 0.1, 0.01, or even 1 and above. At least, you have some, and you acquire them using the money that you are fine losing. I don't know what other people deem 'enough' for their bitcoin ownership, but to me, as long as I have some disposable income, I buy bitcoins regardless of the price.

If you really wanted to invest more in bitcoin, then maybe upgrading your sidejob may do the trick. Mind you, this does not only improve your capability in buying bitcoin but it also allows you to save more since you are receiving more money now so overall it's a win-win for you.

It's certainly not a petty amount; as someone else already mentioned, it's worth about $2,500, which isn't a little, while if you had the same amount of Bitcoin during the previous ATH, you'd have almost $7,000. Not bad, right? I know that it looks like a small amount, but you still have great earning capabilities when the bull market comes. Don't get pressured into buying more Bitcoin than you can afford, and certainly don't change your life just to accumulate more.

There's an ongoing trend pressuring Bitcoin acquisition, something I noticed in newer members way too often because there's the fear of missing out. 0.1 btc is quite a good amount for the initial acceleration of the deposit. Now you need to understand: you will use safe methods, which mainly include holding. Or, as experienced traders often do with such an amount, they tried to increase this amount with aggressive, but more profitable methods, including weekly trading.

In my opinion, there is no limitation of enough or not enough in investing in Bitcoin for long-term period. What we need to think is the money or funds to invest. As long as they are free money without any doubt and we can afford it, this is enough. And every time if we have free money again, why not add the amount to increase the Bitcoin accumulation for the next bullish era preparation? This is good enough moreover if we are using the DCA we may decrease the small missing of chance.

However, once more, this will depend on your own target. Sometimes, people are having certain targets in investing in Bitcoin and they want also altcoin investment. that is why it will depend on your own strategy. The wisest thing is that never put your money into hype coins or shit altcoins although they promise you many things.

Look at our history.  Was 0.1 Bitcoin enough years ago?  There was a time 0.1 could only get you a candy.  There was a time 0.1 could get you a burger.  Then a dumb phone.  Then a smart phone.  Then a high end smart phone.  Then an Apple laptop of your choice.  Now it can get you a pretty decent comfortable used car.  In some countries, even a decently sized lot of land.  In poorer countries, maybe even a house.

If you ask me, I can say that 0.1 BTC is not enough for me since my goal is to have at least 1 BTC in my wallet.  But still just like many replies here, it is up to you whether 0.1 BTC is enough or not.  If you will struggle after accumulating 0.1 BTC then I think better to stop when you fulfilled it first.  Look for an extra job and see if you will be good if you will start accumulating Bitcoin again. 

@OP, you know that people's mind works in a way when a goal is achieved, another goal to surpass what is currently met will eventually form.  In the end, 0.1 BTC might be a starting amount for you and you might aim for more if fund is available.

owning 0.1 Btc as a new person in crypto investment is a good and commendable achievement already, but then, if it is still within your capacity to own more Bitcoins, then why not?, most especially considering the fact that in the end of it all, it is still your money and you can decide to tell it anytime you please..
0.1 bitcoin is good amount to hold for the long term, but if you still have the financial means, then try to double or triple that, or even hold 1 full bitcoin, the more, the better, and so will you make more profit once the price of bitcoin begins to climb.

If the best you can save up, in the long run, is an equivalent of ~$2,300, then your best bet would be to acquire some marketable skills and boost your earnings. That 0.1btc is unlikely to be a "make it" stack - meaning you won't be able to retire on that and will still need to have some other source of income.
So hold some bitcoins but don't put all your hopes in it. Focus on increasing skills and earnings.

On a side note, it only takes BTC0.262 to be in the top 1% of holders of the world population (BTC21 divided by 1% of the total current world population)

Well, I truly believe such amount can make you a millionaire some day. But you'll have to wait (and perhaps it won't happen during your lifetime). No amount is too small. Every satoshi counts.

It's very subjective, you know: it can be a huge amount for some. For some it's just a small investment, but some can go all in for this amount. Without knowing how much you earn, where you live, your net worth, other investments etc you can't say for sure if this is enough for you specifically.

0.1 BTC is said to be enough or not depending on the orientation of thought and economic conditions of each because usually everyone has their own satisfaction with the amount of bitcoin they have which is adjusted according to their abilities, but if you have extra money that still has a lot left maybe that not enough in my opinion, if possible you need to collect it 2-4 times more. but if on the other hand your position is not so fortunate in terms of financial I think that's enough for you, choosing the decision to add a job or look for a side job is a good idea but in my opinion it's not a good idea if it forces yourself to conditions that make you tired.

Do you live in a developed country? holding 0.1 BTC isn't enough because they're can earn more than $10,000 in a year. So it's just an average money for them and it's not that big.

Everyone invests bitcoins according to his ability and no one ever invests his entire assets in bitcoins and invests them in bitcoins at a certain percentage rate.  0.01 Bitcoin is enough for some people, not 0.1.  Since Bitcoin is very popular worldwide and Bitcoin will be used more and more in the future then 0.1 Bitcoin will be a huge amount in terms of Bitcoin supply.  So I personally think 0.1 bitcoin is enough for long time investment.  But if you can afford it, you will be better off holding more than that

I would say it depends on your greed, if you feel enough, it will be enough, if you feel not enough, it is not enough. Human greed has no bottom when we dream of getting 0.1 BTC, and after achieving it, we dream of getting 1 BTC. So it can be said, enough or not is up to you. If you hold 0.1 BTC till next bull season and, let's say bitcoin hits $100k, then with 0.1 BTC you own $10k, and if you are in my country, $10k is a very large amount.

After all, you are making efforts, and be aware that no investment is too small just as no investment is too much. You have to "cut your cloth according to your cloth," just be sure that your investment does not affect your convenience, it's not worth it in that sense.

As for adding more income to what you presently earn, it's up to you, but judging by the size of what you could afford for investment in the long term, it shows that you are not doing well financially.

This is naturally a challenge for you even without the involvement of any investment.

It's not bad at all for a long term holding but, nothing stops you from getting more in the future. Buying or making all your btc investment at once is not a very easy thing to do and your likely not to do much that way.
Like you've said, it would leave you in a tight spot to try going beyond 0.1btc investment on a long term. That's good.

How about not being in that tight spot? How about a gradual growth of your portfolio by gradually buying coins from your spare cash periodically within a year. Of course that could work and I feel its a more better idea to keep investing without being in a tight spot.

There is no limit to investing in bitcoin, especially for the long term because the more bitcoins you can have, the more likely you are to get huge profits. Maybe you can increase the amount of 0.1 BTC to even more to prepare yourself by saving BT for the long term. I don't think there is a ball park figure in our investments, of course it's better if we can get 1 BTC, but still depends on your budget and your risk appetite in your bitcoin investment.

For some saving 0.05 is hard, but there are whales who can simply stash 1 Bitcoin and even more.

So don't force yourself and put too much pressure, just try to accumulate as much as you can. Also remember that this is like a marathon and not a sprint, save for the long run and you will be good.

I think it depends on you. People who can't easily earn that amount of Btc will surely believe that it's enough for investment and there's also not. So if it's not enough for you, you have to get an extra job so that you can add more to your investment. Always use your extra money in investing to avoid stress and that's what I'm doing.

What would you call those who can afford to buy hundreds or tens of thousands of BTC? 1 BTC is not so difficult to reach in developed countries where the standard is quite high, but in some poor countries it is a wealth that hardly anyone can even imagine. Millionaires and billionaires will always be at an advantage to buy BTC, regardless of the price - everyone else will continue to buy, but the amounts will decrease over time.


As for the OP's question, maybe he has read various analyzes somewhere about how much BTC an individual will need in order to become rich in the future and live the lifestyle he wants, but without knowing where the OP lives or where he plans to spend the future, it is difficult to give an answer to his question. 0.1 BTC at the price of 1 BTC = $100,000 is $10,000, and now the question is what someone can do with that money - for some it's a lot, for others it doesn't mean much.

I don't think it is a question about is 0.1BTC enough but how long are you willing to continue going or DCAing? Your extra income is not going to end at a particular time, is it? People that DCA continues to do so because they can afford to spend that amount weekly, monthly or otherwise but unless your side hustle is ending at a particular time which you have calculated will come to 0.1BTC then that is what you have and it also depends on the country you are and the market price. What 0.1BTC is worth now will not be the same during ATH so just keep doing what you can and don't stress about it.

I think no matter how much you invest in btc, it will never be enough. That is, I advise you not to limit yourself to the amount of 0.1BTC and put aside all the extra and free money into it. Much better than if you don't spend money on all sorts of nonsense and knick-knacks that you will eventually forget about and put in a closet drawer, buy btc for them. This will allow you to save money for more valuable and important things. Firstly, because of the profitability of bitcoin, and secondly, you will not want to trade your bitcoin for some junk. If you had money on hand, it would be easier, and this creates an artificial barrier against senseless spending.

A 0.1BTC bar is good, and striving for that mark will get you there faster. Don't limit yourself to this level and come up with the next 0.2BTC value you're trying to reach. I think 0.1BTC is not enough and try to save as much as possible. Either for yourself or for your descendants.

This will always depend on you. You will base how much 0.1 BTC is for you, are you afford to lose 0.1 BTC? If yes, then it's all good. If no, then 0.1 BTC is too much for you.
Always follow the famous line on investing, "Invest what you afford to lose", I always agree to that everytime because, investing is not always guaranteed, there are lot of people already lost their savings or being in too much debt because of their investment went to the wrong side.

There's no need to compare. We have different capabilities as an investor. Bottomline is the amount you will invest should be an amount you can afford to lose if incase. Ofcourse what is ideal to have is bigger capital because it would simply generate bigger profit but also, it could yield to bigger loss. Risk will always be present. If you had a choice between 1 bitcoin and 10 bitcoins, would you choose 1 bitcoin? I believe anyone will choose 10bitcoin without any further thought. This means there will be no concept of enough or not, our greed is bottomless. If you still have the ability to accumulate more than 0.1 bitcoin, then why stop? Keep accumulating to the best of your ability because the more bitcoins you own, your future will be happier. Honestly, I'm holding more than 1 bitcoin, but I never feel enough.

From my perspective investment of long-term in cryptocurrency or bitcoin in particular doesn't have a specific price tag someone or investors can stake for long term investment. Because it's obviously known that Bitcoin investment is determine by your funds and mostly a spare funds if really you want to make profit via the investment of cryptocurrency, so i believe that any amount of value is due for your prospective objectives towards your investment duration.

0.1 BTC is enough if the bitcoin price can get to the price of $ 60k- $ 100k, but that amount is still not enough, especially if you want to make big profits. At the very least, you should have 1 BTC to sell at peak prices. Currently, you can still do DCA because the price is still low. At today's value (currently) of $23,010, 0.1btc is $2,300+, that's more than enough a capital to start up trading. A lot of traders and investors have turned less than that amount to thousands of dollar. What's crucial in trading and investment is the knowledge and this surpasses the capital thrown into it. One can easily blow that same amount without having the basic knowledge of trading. It doesn't really matter the amount put aside for trading. Seek technical knowledge first. It's important.

Impossible to say really because BTC has no fixed price, really the only answer is to regularly be involved in BTC.   I dont think its bad to ever sell BTC, you should be able to do both as the situation merits as a person would with any other asset.   So 0.1 BTC might be far too much capital to hold here or it might be a silly small amount if BTC were to stay under 10k for years.

The memories! $40,000 seemed completely unattainable to me back then, I'd just started out freelancing and accepting Bitcoin payments (but up till that year the majority of clients were only willing to pay in alts if you can believe it!).

Can't remember myself when I first heard of it but fairly certain it was in a chat somewhere, definitely not the forum.

I do look back wistfully having lived through 2 ATHs and not being able to take advantage, but no complaints. I wouldn't recommend it, but technically speaking you could still get rich by trading bitcoin with leverage (margin trading). Or just by active trading, accumulating at the bottoms, and selling the tops - you don't have to time the market perfectly and it may take years (if not decades) to get 'there' - but wherever there's a market, volume, and some price actions - there's also an opportunity to make money.

You're aiming too high. Let's be more down to earth and think what scenarios are likely to happen. I also have quite the same thoughts as you, right now the price of bitcoin can be said to be a little high and of course it takes a lot of capital for us to buy bitcoin, say now it is priced at $20K we keep 1 BTC and at the end of the year BTC may go up around $25K and of course $5K is not a huge profit to be proud of in almost 1 year, it's not wrong to keep 0.1 or 1 BTC for a long period of time but think of it as a savings without expecting to get bigger profits except as you said, we has bought BTC at 2 or 3 digit prices in the past of course surely by now maybe we has become rich.

Everything depends on your need and necessity. For some people at current price, the 0.1 BTC will be sufficient for long term. I would say for investment in any asset it’s always good to fund slowly. If not possible, don’t buy 0.1 BTC directly. Use 30% of your salary in investment, 30% for savings and 40% for monthly needs. Follow this 30:30:40 rule and invest accordingly. In this manner for a long term run, you will definitely make good profit. It is true that bitcoin is probably not going to give 100x in a single bull run anymore, but if you are smart about your entry and exit points you can still make a lot of money if you compound your profits over several bull runs, maybe not enough to buy lambos as many people wish for, but if you invest several years of savings then if you can keep investing in bitcoin during the next 2 or 3 bull cycles then accumulating enough money to retire early should be possible.

Sure, but BTC/ETH is no longer appealing to the "get rich quick" investors. We cannot predict the future; I mean we cannot estimate what higher value bitcoin will have in future. Also no one could estimate your need for your life. So, it would be a wise decision to keep on buying bitcoin whenever you are having excess funds. It's enough and a good start. The target should always be to accumulate atleast one Bitcoin and starting with 0.1 BTC will give you the motivated to do better in the future. If 0.1 BTC is all your pockets can afford then go for it and not hesitate. What do you mean by "properly managed"? Investment in BTC is not supposed to be managed, just keep the custody and keep your keys secure.

OP didn't bother to properly explain what he meant by this, but if we assume that "enough" means achieving financial independence (i.e. being able to retire early), then we have to consider that BTC cannot sustain its past levels of growth (quite obviously). Sure, but my point still stands. That hypothetical $24k is not enough to retire (if that's what OP meant). He would have to use that money to kick off some other project that either provides him a regular income or to multiply that into a more significant amount.

If you want to keep your investment for the next 20 years, then I think you should stay with bitcoin, only bitoin is an asset worth trusting and living for so long. Don't invest in altcoin when it's a long term investment, ETH is good, but it's still centralized, so we can't trust it long term. Even BNB, I don't believe Binance can live another 20 years.

I'm a believer of facts and stats, so I wouldn't blatantly say things which are based solely on assumptions and not on current affairs and stats. If you do tend to read up again on what he had said on which he's targeting out on having 0.1 btc target or goal basing up on what he's earning now which those are assumed amounts of btc that he's aiming or he's capable with on saving it up.Actually its not a small amount for most people and its never been bad to have this set goal because we do know that not each corner of the world does have a good pay when it comes to day jobs that we are dealing with.If you do see that these are the amounts which you are good into saving up totally then its not bad as long you do set up goals.

With all humanity 0.1 btc is almost or 10% of 1 bitcoin and you invested what you think can be afford to lose by you.
