It amplifies the need for investors to do their complete research before investing in newly launched projects. Even the person you had been admiring or following on social media platforms can be just promoting a scam. So apply some common sense next time instead of blindly following the expert financial advice of these gurus. Another platform, where this abuse frequently happens is YouTube where creators promote number of fake projects.

Agree, in general, you shouldn't take financial advice from social media influencers, especially those who have a shady reputation and track record. Most of the time their actions are driven by self-interest, whether that's through paid promotions or creating artificial hype for tokens or NFTs that they will eventually sell to their followers.

Investment is always a personal matter.  And everyone takes only one idea from social media but smart investors always do their own analysis and don't just invest based on someone's advice and that's wise. Because those who promote a project or a product in exchange of money can never be completely trustworthy because they always promote a project or a product in exchange of money. So it is always better to do your own research and then invest somewhere

I will likely say that most of the newly launched projets are scam.

There are a lot of issues like this on Twitter and different social media platforms.
Most of these influencers are only for money, and some of them don't have any idea what they are promoting and it could damage their reputation, even here on our country, a lot of influencers or content creators already experienced this.
I am worried about the next bull run because expect the issue like this will be more in public.

Yeah, it's not new, this all started during the height of ICO craze, social medias + some unscrupulous individual promoting scam.

That's the name of the game, maybe they just developed it since 2017-2018, but still the same MO for this scammers. But the good thing is that there are also group of people trying to exposed this kind of scam so that no one can fall for it. Dillon Danis though, not sure if this his is real name or just hiding it was already exposed here and again, I just do hope that he didn't victimized anyone.

@GreatArkansas - yeah, for sure this kind of attacks will multiple once we hit the bull run next year.

I visited the twitter link and the website itself and I laughed on what's inside that website. Cheesy
On the other hand, I feel sad for those who fell into his promotions. I don't know that influencer or person, but I'm guessing he scammed a lot of investors already.

He really got big time on that one thanks to Coffeezilla and I'll wait for his video on Youtube. This is what you call "Scammer got scammed" and he literally fell into it. They are being called influencers, but they are influencing other people in a negative way.

The FAQ section is kind of funny though. Cheesy

What a way to expose a paid promotion. Imagine paying the one that accepts paid promotion and prove that he is not doing research about the project and just cares all about the money. These influencer things are bad given that projects are just paying them o promote their own shttty project. This kind of influencer promotions has been going for a long time now and people should be awake on how dangerous it is to trust these influencers and not do any research about the project they are into. This shows how worst people can be for the sake of money. This is why I don't trust celebrities or any influential people that has no real knowledge about crypto that is just blindly doing crypto promotions.

Honestly, I can't wait to see the video, hopefully already this week  Grin

I'm baffled how someone can compromise his reputation in such a matter 0 due diligence. Ignorance or stupidity, the line is thin. You can see how young and immature he is, he obviously needed this kind of lesson to (eventually) learn something.

Coffeezilla did a good act there and does show how social media posting is all about money perks. The guy didnt even care about the consequence and might done on his reputation for the sake of $1k for a a very second deed of posting.
He and some other few followed individuals have been trying to expose such fraud for quite some time now, but so many newbies are still so blind to even see such warning. All they think about is getting rich overnight

if the "influencer" himself wasn't able to, just check out the website and realize that the project was fake, and he was being tricked. Now imagine the noobs that just listen to what anyone with even 10K followers on Twitter says.

So this is a coordinated tripping by him and others. Good hoax though, fooling the money grab influencers. My favorite scam buster is zach Ive been checking always his post and seeing a lot of exposed rugpull and so whatnot activity of some influencers, what good on him either they are small or big he doesnt waive. I wish we had like 100 of them.

That is becoming common these days. Don't blindly follow social media influencers whether they are from crypto or other industries that you really love and admire them.

It's because that's not the way on how you'll decide. Yeah, they are influencers and might give you some ideas with the other thoughts that they share but, it doesn't mean that they're always correct.

They can sometimes be wrong with their thoughts and mostly, yeah, advertise a scam project that they did little research before accepting the offer.

Most of the time they have been hired to do those things just like the old bounty managers who were trusted in the past, they are suddenly promoting multiple projects which mostly turned into scams. that was one of the reasons why people don't invest in a project that has been promoted by bounties nowadays because of the past incidents they had witnessed and that's the same reason why ICOs suddenly became lost hope after it was the hype and trend that year. Now we have the same scenario where NFTs are being used as their props to scam people and that would be the worse thing to happen to you if you are a newbie to the crypto industry.

Simply why you should never use social media as the final decision-maker for your investing decisions. Yes, you can refer to social media to see and look up "popular" investments, but you should still take the damn time to actually research and understand what the hell you're investing in. This is why I never have my social media follow stuff like this, I just use official news channels and random forums where I don't bloody know who the hell I'm talking with so that I can take the time to research myself even with their recommendation.

We can get some ideas from social media but when it comes to decision-making, it was us who have the right to do, not by relying on them.
It was not new to having these scenarios, research must be applied in all projects whether it was old or new just to have an overview of the project. In this way, we are able to avoid in investing scam projects.

Many scammers and market manipulators use social media platforms to trick innocent people. It was their advantage as it was easier for them to spread (fake) information and get clients/investors. We need to be vigilant this time otherwise, we just let these people survive and continue their evil doings.

Here is one example of kind of string operation done

It amplifies the need for investors to do their complete research before investing in newly launched projects. Even the person you had been admiring or following on social media platforms can be just promoting a scam. So apply some common sense next time instead of blindly following the expert financial advice of these gurus. Another platform, where this abuse frequently happens is YouTube where creators promote number of fake projects.

I am interested in cryptos since the end of 2017 so more than 5 years now and one of the lessons, that i have learned is, that you should never buy something because some crypto youtuber or crypto twitter influencer is saying that. Back in 2020 and 2021 i joined a few very early project and there i witnessed it first hand, that big crypto influencers get a big allocation in the private sale or even in the seed sale of projects and for that they are shilling those projects "for free". That way the project gets exposure and the influencer gets a big allocation for a very cheap price. Once the project is successful and the prices has risen the influencer then begins to dump and moves on to the next project.

It's not even surprising to me. I have seen a bunch of influencers getting paid by scammers to promote scam tokens. These influencers were also scammers too. They care only about money but not about their followers. Only dumb people who still keep following influencer's advice.

Newbies shall never ever follow any advice from influencers. Almost all influencers were playing mind games to its followers. Caffezilla was only a part of a few trusted influencers that exist on twitter. Most crypto influencers on Twitter were liars and scammers.

I don't know this guy. Though I have been there before, in a similar situation, where I blindly followed those so-called influencers. Generally, it is a bad idea to find a piece of financial advice on social media, the term itself should already suggest. The saying of "not financial advice" is just a bullshit. The influencers and the project owners know that their intent is mainly for publicity. That is where it gets wrong, where the mass is easily deceived by mere publicity.

Im not sure if someone had minted those fake nft project. If so, then they are really dumb for not doing their due diligence.

There is a further explanation just below the main tweet. The project is non-existent, so the mint process just directs the user to https://sourznft.com/dillondanis/ link.
