So while I was fiddling with chatgpt, I ask it about bitcoin and is suppose to answer based on the age of imaginary person.

First I asked it to explain like i'm a 5 yr old

Quote
Okay, let's imagine you have a piggy bank where you keep your money safe. Bitcoin is like a digital piggy bank where you can keep your money safe, but instead of physical coins, you have special numbers that show how much money you have in your piggy bank. People all over the world can use bitcoins to buy things, like toys or candy. Just like you have to be careful with your physical piggy bank, you have to be careful with your digital one too, so that no one else can take your money.

Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency, meaning it operates independently of a central bank. Transactions with bitcoin are recorded on a public ledger called the blockchain, which allows for secure and transparent transfers without the need for intermediaries like banks.

Think of it like a digital cash that you can send and receive without going through a traditional financial institution. However, it's important to note that the value of bitcoin can be highly volatile and there have been instances of large-scale thefts, so it's crucial to keep your bitcoin secure and be careful when using it.

Transactions with bitcoin are verified and recorded on a public ledger called the blockchain, which makes them secure and transparent.

Bitcoin operates differently from traditional currencies as it operates independently of a central bank and is not backed by a government. The supply of bitcoin is limited, with only 21 million bitcoins that can ever be mined, and this scarcity has led to its perceived value.

It's important to understand that the value of bitcoin is highly volatile, and its value can fluctuate greatly in short periods of time. Additionally, there have been instances of large-scale thefts in the past, so it's crucial to properly secure your bitcoin and understand the potential risks involved in using it. Despite these risks, many individuals and businesses are beginning to adopt bitcoin as a form of payment and investment, making it a significant player in the financial world.

Bitcoin is a decentralized form of digital currency that operates on a peer-to-peer network, bypassing the need for intermediaries like banks or financial institutions to process transactions. It's based on a technology called blockchain, which is a public ledger that records and verifies all transactions on the network.

Unlike traditional currencies that are issued and backed by governments, there is no central authority controlling the supply or circulation of bitcoin. Instead, the total supply of bitcoin is limited to 21 million, and new bitcoins are generated through a process called mining.

Investing in bitcoin can be seen as a high-risk, high-reward endeavor, as its value can be highly volatile and has

experienced significant fluctuations in the past. Additionally, because it operates outside of the traditional financial system, it may not be covered by the same consumer protections or insured by the same institutions.

However, despite these risks, many people and businesses are starting to adopt bitcoin as a form of payment or investment. It offers greater financial privacy and the potential for lower transaction fees compared to traditional methods, making it an attractive option for some. It's important to thoroughly understand the technology and associated risks before investing in or using bitcoin.

Great!

Now you need to ask those same questions from Poe (a Quora product) which is only available for iOS and then do the same for Bard (a Google product) then you can evaluate which one is near to the desired outcome. I am hoping Meta and Amazon will also come out with their own version of ChatGPT. The world is going to completely change when AI starts doing everything.

Humans were made lazy by Google, Amazon, and Social Media companies. Now we will become completely redundant as we won't need schools or colleges after the invention of AI chat bots.

The first explanation (for 5yr old) quite contradicts the rest of the definitions... It's important to be always consistent with facts.   Besides, the rest of the definition are technically not correct.
The AI should be smart enough to know that the definition should be based on the whole system and not just the currency, as simple as this: Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. Followed by with an inbuilt currency called bitcoin..

Nobody should ever trust the AI. It's actually not a good AI. Just consider the striked part in the definition for 25yr old and tell me why that is necessary:

Yo man, that's crazy how AI was able to explain it to every age group and it did just well considering the fact that we were expecting humanly answers from the AI. Oh man, it's now more fearful, AI knows what bitcoin is and sooner or later it will figure out how to crack the blockchain and gain the historical data. Lolz (kidding).

I just hope that it remains a joke, about what I said in the last line above because the forum itself is flooded with the ChatGPT topics and there are some amusing topics that are being discussed about it. Some of them are also more detailed and are technical thus making it worrying some about safety of our data.

Anyone feel like this is close to "Eagle Eye" project. ??

AI is making humans too lazy. On the other side, saving time and assisting with any study. Particularly if you want to know something historical like Bitcoin can provide you with some information. But there's always the worry that the information might not be accurate to the letter. because AI is created by humans, as are data inputs. AI can reply with knowledge that has been recorded. No guarantee of accurate information. Soon, AI will pose a threat to humanity.

AI agrees with you.

But truth to be told, considering how young the technology is, it won't surprise me at all if, in short-to-medium-term future, it will completely replace old, traditional sources of information in the likes of wikipedia etc or tools like google translate.

Soon, AI will pose a threat to humanity.

Already does. And it's funny how almost all experts and analysts agree with that, but nothing is being done to prevent this.

I've tried talking to ChatGPT, and I was impressed by its ability to support a conversation. But I also noticed that it seems to have some biases.
Analyzing the responses provided by the op, it chose to tell a 15-year-old about theft but somehow failed to mention that bank robberies also exist, or that if you store your money in your own wallet to which only you have access, and you are not careless with your means of accessing the wallet, it's impossible to hack it. And that thefts largely happen on centralized platforms like exchanges, which with Bitcoin you can avoid, while with digital version of fiat you cannot.
It's also a bit weird how it tells you about the benefit of privacy only at 50 years old, as if a 25-year-old doesn't appreciate privacy or can't understand it. Same goes for lower transaction fees.

That's true to a certain degree but being able to use AI is also not that easy. Most people use AI as a simple chat bot asking stupid simple questions like "how to make money?" etc... When you ask a very complicated question and describe exactly what you want, then AI simply amazes you. What I am telling you is that those who can use AI perfectly in a very professional way, they already know how to get what they want without AI anyway. Stupid people on the other hand, will never be as successful even when they use AI.

I expected that there would but be much of a difference between the explanation for a 25 year old and a 50 year old, considering that at the former, you have maxed a lot of your cognitive abilities and should be able to maintain a level of consistency going forward.

But I guess with the addition of 'traditional currencies', it shows how older people would be more likely fixated on the old system and transition slower than younger ones.

The first explanation (for 5yr old) quite contradicts the rest of the definitions... It's important to be always consistent with facts.
How does the first explanation contradict the others?

Yea it looks like it has all the info and omits or includes what it deems suitable for each
scenario and can even simplify it more for the 5 yo, thats the impressive part, making comparisons!

Funny too how it wants to "warn" people about the "Dangers" or "Pitfalls" in investing in it,
but technically the price fluctuations are not Bitcoin per say.

Anyway its including them because of where its sourcing the information.

Very interesting nonethless.

I find nothing impressive about it. This "AI" just reads a lot of human-made posts and spits out some sort of average of them back at us when requested. If the consensus across the Internet was that Bitcoin is a scam, than this "AI" would tell that Bitcoin is a scam. There is zero original thinking involved. ChatGPT is about as impressive as a talking parrot.

The AI should be smart enough to know that the definition should be based on the whole system and not just the currency, as simple as this: Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. Followed by with an inbuilt currency called bitcoin..

The AI is still learning. And Bitcoin is highly complex, actually. I think that is still gives not-so-bad explanations (not definition). Far from perfect, but not bad.

Nobody should ever trust the AI. It's actually not a good AI.

The point of AI is to (ever) learn. And we, bitcoiners, should know best how this is: AI is still early (sounds familiar?)

Clearly, the answers of now are, by far, not to be trusted. It's risky to rely only on that.
On the other hand:
* most people don't care of bitcoin more than what's in ChatGPT's answer(s)
* it's impressive that it didn't go by the official/newspaper-like narrative (scam, ponzi, overly risky, drug money, ... name it); keep in mind that the system is trained to the data up to.. 2 years ago?

I think this is a very good explanation. They really explained it in an accessible way for all ages. And if a beginner reads these answers, he or she will immediately understand what is bitcoin.

This part is the most interesting part to me. Because the ChatGPT answered the question like you are 5yr old that's why the explanation is pretty much simple and even people without any knowledge or any education can get their answer and understand the basic of what is bitcoin in a simple language this kind of explanation is very important because mostly when someone without any knowledge asks other people about bitcoin they can't give an understandable answer to him. However the answer ChatGPT gave you actually came from the data provided by the humans.

I think this platform helps you if you are in a rush and you need to explain it to someone in a comprehensive way where they gonna easily understand it. But you need to understand, you also need to cut and paste some words and not rely on everything in that AI because one missed information regarding bitcoins is not good and you will gonna suffer from it when they put the blame on you because of your poor explanations. Anyway, we are glad to have this kind of program nowadays because it has been helpful, especially for students all around the world.

I don't know if it's really helpful for students or just makes them lazy, thereby creating a lazier generation. I didn't save that article, but I remember it said that a lot of students used Chatpgt to finish their graduation thesis in a short time. This is not good at all because it is not their knowledge, they just copied someone else's and slightly edited it to make it their own. AI is making students lazy to explore, lazy to think, sedentary and become too dependent on it.

It's already becoming a big problem at all levels of education and beyond. Apparently, AI is already good enough to write convincing research papers that are good enough to fool scientists.

Chat gpt was released only a little over 2 months ago and there are already plenty of articles confirming the problem. Few examples:
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/research-summaries-written-by-ai-fool-scientists/
https://www.insider.com/artificial-intelligence-bot-wrote-scientific-paper-on-itself-2-hours-2022-7
https://thefordhamram.com/89756/news/chatgpt/

The education system will have a very hard time tackling this issue, especially public education which is always slow in making any improvements and adapting to new realities.
Some universities in Australia already decided to return to pen-and-paper style exams:

Haven't tried Poe nor Bard. But I believe they all originate to a specific model.

The first explanation (for 5yr old) quite contradicts the rest of the definitions... It's important to be always consistent with facts.   Besides, the rest of the definition are technically not correct.

But I guess with the addition of 'traditional currencies', it shows how older people would be more likely fixated on the old system and transition slower than younger ones.
How does the first explanation contradict the others?

Which part? Keep in mind that it is told to explain it like I'm a 5 yr old.

Accuracy, hmmm. Well we can't be sure if the History we know is actually accurate. We based it on published or noted writings or testimonials, which makes the widely accepted history has been biased to the victors of wars etc.,

Soon, AI will pose a threat to humanity.

Already does. And it's funny how almost all experts and analysts agree with that, but nothing is being done to prevent this.

:3

I wonder what happens if we ask her to explain bitcoin for a sexually pervert person, would the answer be that people could use bitcoin to buy sex toys, pay prostitutes etc? 🤣🤣
It has a certain level of censorship etc. Also basing on your given location, it might determine if it is proper nor improper to discuss adult contents. (thanks for the idea tho xD)

What I am telling you is that those who can use AI perfectly in a very professional way, they already know how to get what they want without AI anyway. Stupid people on the other hand, will never be as successful even when they use AI.

:3

^
Yea it looks like it has all the info and omits or includes what it deems suitable for each
scenario and can even simplify it more for the 5 yo, thats the impressive part, making comparisons!

Funny too how it wants to "warn" people about the "Dangers" or "Pitfalls" in investing in it,
but technically the price fluctuations are not Bitcoin per say.

Anyway its including them because of where its sourcing the information.

Very interesting nonethless.

BTW, I asked it to refer to the bitcoin whitepaper>>then do the same:

Okay, so what I did is I asked ChatGPT to refer to well known publication. (https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf)
Meaning, if we will ask it to refer to certain writings, it may be able to produce the information we ought to extract from the article, book or series etc.

Perhaps it can also give different inputs from different POVs.

When in doubt, a 2nd opinion wouldn't hurt much.

Google searches -> ChatGPT searches.

It only made the ocean bigger.
