For now I don't think about quitting gambling because I don't really have any problem with gambling currently, I only gamble for fun or when am bored, I don't gamble frequently so am not really addicted to gambling, I will start thinking about how to quit whenever I noticed that am beginning to be addicted to gambling which I don't think it will happen. If someone have been addicted to gambling, it's always difficult to quit, must addicted gamblers really want to stop but they can't, even if they try they will still endup going back to it.

It's pretty common for those gamblers who lose a lot. I am sure that most of us hear this coming from a gambler who has intense emotions due to losses and is complaining to the casino that it is not fair, but after the emotions calm down, you see him again depositing money, and after winning some games, he wouldn't be saying anything. Though mostly the reason for this is that they are just addicted or they just can't quit due to their need to earn money.

Gamblers who often lose will surely make a lot of complaints until they decide to just stop gambling because it’s not healthy for them after all. But everytime they start winning again, their decision changes instantly. Instead, they want to bet more so they can chase their previous losses, and win much bigger profits. Until we see them losing again and promise to quit already gambling, but after that day there they are gambling again trying their luck, hoping to win this time.

This post has brought back memories from my past and my entire history as a gambler. I flash back the one time I used money budgeted for something else to gamble thinking I could double it because I was going through a rough patch in life and needed money terribly.
After that incident, I had a deep personal reflection. I knew tot wasn't who I was and almost came to the conclusion to stop gambling but I enjoy it so much and it make me unhappy quitting. So, instead I decided to become intentional and disciplined about it. It's one of the best decision I have ever made.

There's a saying about being a gambler, stays to someone's blood until he or she fully changed. We find something in gambling that makes us happy and even if we're losing, it doesn't matter. As long as we're satisfied and our cravings to gamble has been given, that's the only thing that we want to see. And to answer the question about how many times did I attempted to quit, well, they were like tons of times and I can't count them. Whenever I lose, I'll tell that I quit but tomorrow I'll be back so I'm sure that something like happens to all of us.

If you are that someone who doesnt still accept that he's that not able to control his gambling activities or which it would be considered to be an addiction then you wont really be stopping gambling no matter what.
You might be able to avoid but you would be still playing in the end because you hadn't been able to accept and determined yourself on quitting.Losing is inevitable and very common on gambling on which everyone
would really be experiencing it.It does really only differ on how someone could be able to tolerate that kind of losing situation which they would neither be ending up on being impulsive

I think that what we should do is, for example, look at your betting habits, what and where you are betting...

In any case, it is pathetic to think that you are an addict because you are a loser, it is a myth to think that those who constantly lose money are addicts, it is a fallacy, the addict is only interested in gambling, it is the pleasure that catches him.

One should leave the game at any time, even if it is not habitual, regular, recreational, etc.

Then, occasionally You have to say the phrase "I have not bet for a long time", if you have never done it, so, "it may be" that you are a candidate for addiction, nah! but whatever, please! you can spend about $100 on a specialist, seriously, an expert psychologist on the subject can clinically detect it.

I also hear this phrase but saw the one saying it quit for a while then sometime later go back to gambling while others just quit completely.   I think the losses triggers the gambler to say this thing and those who came back gambling again doesn't really mean they will quit but rather means they will take a break.

We should always consider gambling what we can afford to lose in order for us to not get affected by gambling losses and get a problem on financing side.

it's not just a phrase that comes from people who experienced a big loss. I've heard the same phrase "I'll stop gambling after this" from gamblers who won a sizable amount of money, they usually go back to gambling again after a week or so. I have a feeling that their reason for gambling again despite them saying they'll stop is because they think they will be lucky again just like the last time but the majority of the time they don't.

If you love watching sports and in the same time you like to bet on it, then it's very hard to completely stop on it, until you have nothing left. I tried to stop every time I got big lost, but when I watch a sport, I feel like I have good feeling on it and it would be a waste if I don't bet lol. This is similar to those which after a night out in which they were drinking alcohol and they are suffering from a major hangover swear they are never going to drink alcohol again, and yet the very next week they are already planning on going out and consume alcohol again, those promises should be taken with a grain of salt since there was never any intention to fulfill them, only those which after thinking about the effects their behavior is having on themselves and the persons around them will make the commitment to stop consuming alcohol, drugs or gambling and make a real attempt to stay away from those activities.

Taking a break from gambling should be a regular thing and practice for every smart gambler because when you gamble excessively you tend to lose control but by taking a break once in a while,  it makes you more relax and independent and free to make the right decisions when and how to make a deposit and playtime.

^I am also a seasonal gambler now not like before when I was fully addicted to playing poker but no I want to bet only in sports betting.
I remember before when I have a huge loss playing poker and I said to myself to stop and never gamble, this attempt has probably happened twice every time when I have a huge loss but after a few months, I still miss gambling. Thinking to quit gambling after a huge loss will probably be a natural reaction in most gamblers but I know deep inside they will never let themselves come up with such a decision. So gamble only what you can afford and enjoy gambling because that is for fun.

Personally, my addiction is not on the point that I should intentionally "stop it" since I can practice its discipline and self-control from the very start.

People who struggle in eliminating and stopping gambling are the ones who are addicted to it to the point that it is destructive to their livelihood. Though that may be the case, they are at least on the first step towards curing their addiction- which is acknowledging that they are indeed addicted to it.

In order to fully eliminate such addiction, sacrifices must be made and sheer amount of patience must be exercised by the person. Not to mention, an active participation of their peers and friends may significantly help and speeding up the process of curing it.

Every time I lose I think I should stop gambling. Whenever a person loses in a game of gambling, it is evident in his mind that he will stop gambling. I myself am not addicted to this kind of gambling, but I have indulged in gambling once or twice in my life. Gambling is one of those addictions where one cannot recover from the addiction once he gets into it. I have seen people addicted to this drug never progress in life. They are making a living very hard. Gambling addicts around us lead very bad lives. So I would like to say that you should never take gambling as a serious addiction. Just take it as fun.

Once and I've succeeded at that. One time in my life I've gambled away more that I could lose. It was early on when I had some spare money because bitcoin was pumping. It was in 2016 or early 2017. If I held on to that money instead of gambling with it I'd be able to gain at least x6 by the end of 2017. That's when I turned my habit into casual gambling and I've never lost big since that day.
I have everything under control now. No dicing, no big deposits, casual sports gambling not more than once a month.

Total stop I never have but reduce or stop playing a game to go a different direction, I have many times.  Mostly boredom determines whether I bet or not, if its not interesting dont kid yourself about making money on it.  The money part is the bonus,  I only intend to play things I feel some interest in and typically I get bored after some period so stopping isnt the problem its finding something I like more

Gambling was never a problem for me. I rarely gamble. But yeah, I have seen people to stop gambling, but they end gambling again after few days or weeks. Those are the kind of people that are addicted to gambling and in the long causes themselves irreversible financial damage. It's like people trying to quit drinking or smoking. They do stop for few days and then once again is back to drinking and smoking and doing drugs. The only way these people can get out the addiction and stop gambling is getting professional help. They need to talk to someone and take their to recover from gambling addiction.
