so that's it, if a gambler is lucky to get a big win from gambling, of course his lifestyle will change and spend more money for everyday life. I mean if a gambler earns a lot of money from gambling, he usually has a more elite lifestyle like buying expensive food, clothes or something that is expensive as if like a rich person.
because the money that is obtained the easy way, usually will also run out quickly.

if they would rather gamble instead of using the money to feed their family, it looks like they are addicted. a lot of addicted gamblers could care less if they have savings or not, as long as they can satisfy their urge to gamble that is enough for them.

If you want to say that they should save the money instead of gamble with it, I'll tell you this: it depends on the amount. You will never convince a person buying a $2 lottery ticket once per month to save the money instead. And I perfectly understand that person. What is the use of saving $24 in one year? It's boring, and I would even say, depressing. Isn't it better to spend the money on having a hope to win a million every month? I think it is.

But spending a lot of money on gambling thinking that some spirits, or whatever, will help to win big is stupid. Well, the majority don't have especially if you are already in addiction but I know some (wise) gamblers do savings.
It is too hard to imagine but most gamblers made gambling their priority over saving or investing. What they have earned has been used to gamble hoping to get lucky and multiply their money.

Mostly their reason is to look good, which is the same with you. I don't understand why they will do it. I prefer saving than taking out a loan or borrowing money to buy my wants, as I know it would make me happy for a short period of time. I usually take out loans for emergencies or invest in equipment like computers for work purposes, but for an iPhone, I don't do that. Though we can't blame them as we don't know what they are thinking, let's just respect them as for sure they are doing hard work just to achieve their wants.

Will you be able to an answer my question who are worthy to save money? As far as I know only those who can keep some money after completing their full month's expenses have the ability to save. Most gamblers don't have savings because they believe that they can be lucky everyday and win money from their bets, some gamblers have this luck on their side and they win most times they pay but others don't and for those who don't, they think tomorrow is always their day so they keep on gambling mostly as they see others winning constantly. Gamblers are also addicted to the activity and it's hard to keep savings when you're addicted.

I also realized Nigeria is a third world country and the major reason why people gamble is because they don't have enough to feed themselves so how then do you expect those that don't have money to save. The little they have they're using to take care of themselves and family and the rest is going into gambling, they consider it sort of an investment.

I am a gamber and we are from the same country, but am saving, so I don't know why you said gamblers can't safe money.

The only thing I know is that addicted gamblers can't safe money, their is a diffence between gambler and addicted gambler. A addicted gamber can do everything possible to get money to gamble, they don't care selling their properties just to make money to gamble, they don't care taking loan just because they want to gamble. A gambler that can take loan just to gamble, how will they have savings? I believe if the are having savings, they will have used it and they won't have to take loan, but if they have used all their money to gamble and they believe the only option left is to take loan then they will go for it.

The characteristics that the OP said generally occur in developing countries, even poor countries. because, for countries that are more developed or modern, most of the people will think more rationally and prioritize the interests of basic needs before having fun with gambling regardless of addiction or not. plus, a narrow-minded way of earning fast income from gambling. also, the unemployment factor that makes many of them choose to gamble, whether it's online casinos, or buying lottery tickets. his aim is nothing but to earn instant income from his gambling and not for fun entertainment. obviously that's why, most of them do not have savings, nor investment for their future plans.
