OP, I am sure that not all gamblers don't have savings. First, who is a gambler? Lol, A gambler is someone who bets on games knowing full well that there is a possibility of losing their money. 

Yea, gambling, just like crypto investment, is advised to be done with what one can afford to lose, and that is also the same advice that goes for gamblers: to always gamble with what they can afford to lose. There are some gamblers that I know who have a good job that they are doing and earning big money from, providing their families with what they need, but each time you see them at the casino, you might not even believe they are rich duds. Based on my research, there are 7 types of gamblers (read about them here), of which compulsive gamblers are the ones most likely to fall into the category you claim, although professional gamblers may have gone through some stages of frustration but with tolerance they scale along. 

Unfortunately, many people do not realize the potential for losing their money at gambling and instead spend more and more of their money. These people really hope to win big money from gambling, which tempts them to keep playing.

But there are indeed gamblers who are still able to save for their future and their family, and these are responsible people in gambling, so they don't risk losing too much money. But gambling can indeed make someone unable to have savings, especially a gambler who is addicted to gambling because he only wants to use his money to gamble without thinking about anything else.

I think gambling is just a game you can't win long-term. I remember when the poker hype went through the roof years and years ago and only a few faces are still around like Daniel Negreanu. Some of the popular faces even went broke even though they were claimed to be the superstars who understand to win consistently. But I think that was just part of the story Pokerstars and others were trying to sell. Gambling is called gambling for a reason. Some of those poker players who won big at some tournaments eventually made more money through their advertisement activities and books and merchandise and whatever else they sold.

I want to ask a question. And I need serious answer from this forum, and my question is WHY DOES A GAMBLER DON'T HAVE A SAVINGS.
In my country (Nigeria) there are many gamblers who don't have savings and it isn't help matters at all. Most of these gamblers can't afford for there families but they can afford money they will use to gamble. So why are they not having savings that they can use to help there families in time of lack. Like they said, we save money so money can save us tomorrow. But these gamblers doesn't know that.

Being a gambler does not mean one will be financially better.  Gambling is not a job that brings a steady source of income , gambling is just a game which people tend to win by luck and not always. You only expect gamblers that has job to have savings ,money from gambling alone is not enough to make a saving.

Is it because gambling is very expensive? Because I noticed this recently when buying lottery tickets. Let's say you are spending $1 daily, and if you add it in a month, it's $31. Living in a third-world country, this is already big, and if we saved it, then that would be huge by the end of the year, but it is not included if you win in the lottery or other games. Though I think it's because we are trying our luck, hoping to win big and improve our lives.

If the gambler has no other income or is not working to make ends meet, it is unlikely that he will not have any savings because of where he gets the money to gamble from. A gambler can be seen from his condition unless he is rich, has a business or other job that generates money. I'm sure they have some savings even if it's not from gambling, and even though there may be a small percentage it will run out again as they continue to play.
and if a gambler's income only relies on winnings from gambling I don't think he has any savings, unless he wins big or the jackpot and he will definitely put it in the bank. However, it will continue to be used for gambling.
Responsible gamblers are simply those who have other sources of income and also limit their gaming to honor their hard earned money.

actually it all depends on the attitude and self-control of a gambler.
for example, if a gambler has a low-paying job but he is able to plan a budget for gambling and to save, it will be much better and he can have savings in the future.
like my friend who works in an office with a salary of only $ 120 and he is also a gambler. but he has good commitment and conviction. the salary he gets from his job he sets aside $ 20 to gamble $ 20 to save and the rest is for daily needs. he only gambled on small bets so he tried to get $ 20 to be used to gamble for 1 month. but if in 1 month the budget is used up, he will also stop gambling not force himself to catch up with what he lost.
and for me, my friend is really a very responsible gambler who is able to control himself to be responsible in gambling and able to have savings for the future.

Everyone needs money, even gamblers are no exception. Gamblers often dream big, finding small savings some times can be boring for them. They want to change their fortunes quickly. This desire and interest of gamblers are very common. A gambler thinks it is more important to increase their bankroll than fiat money because their earnings can be better. Here it is easy to see his attitude of saving but it is different from reality.

A gambler does not have ‍savings but he is able to deposit betting money quickly when he lost. Just as all people are not the same, not all gamblers are created equal. There are some gamblers who can save and some who are not interested in saving.

Indeed. The truth is that gambling should never be relied on as a primary source of income because of the risks involved. Many people I know put all their faith in their gambling earnings and end up losing everything they've worked for.

Although some people rely only on gambling earnings to sustain their way of life, others view it as a kind of entertainment for leisure. These players know how to control their spending and play only within their means, hence they are dubbed responsible gamblers. This way people can experience the excitement of gaming without endangering their financial security. If we think correctly and use a logical way of thinking, then we can find out that gambling is a slightly negative action because it can make someone lose everything when they are crazy about gambling.
Whether they are small people who only have a little money or rich people with lots of money, if they get involved and go crazy with gambling, everything they have can potentially just disappear.
Maybe they have thoughts and beliefs that they can win and can earn big money, but that kind of thinking is just a domain that will make them regret later on because winning with large amounts of money can only be owned by those who are lucky and even then only 1 appeal 1000 people who can get it.

It's normal for people who have turned gambling into an addiction. I think they can get addicted to other habits besides gambling. I mean, they're people who are prone to addiction. That's why in some countries there are limits to the ability to gamble. The most common and well-known of these is the legal age limit. That's why we can't wait for them to make sensible decisions, and that's why some countries have drawn some limits on legal gambling.

Those who don't have savings are people who feel like they don't have anything to lose. And when they win big they spend all that money and do not save a penny, then they will be broke until another big win comes. That's how they roll. Risk it all to go big or go home.

While others play to earn and immediately save some of their winnings, some are very reluctant to save because they think that saving will not grow their money, so might as well gamble it as there are still chances to get lucky and win bigger amount. Yet in the end, they lose all their money and got broke totally. So saving is always a choice, because you know with gambling there are no guarantees to keep on winning the whole time.

We should really be having a savings intended for emergency use cases and never ever consider it out on spending it on gambling because its never been worth on doing so.Its true that there are people who are really that minding that they would be earning more if they do decide on gambling those funds which is really very wrong.Instead of earning then they would be losing it all on most case which we do know that regret do always comes in the end. Normal gamblers wouldn’t risk important money in a very risky game which going to leas them into bad consequences, once you are doing that then in my opinion that person is not longer gambler but addicted and that case need to be treated before losing everything. In countries like Nigeria and even my country I’m sure every penny is important i mean even if you have enough savings and all of that surely much people outside needs it. So think wisely before gambling maybe there’s something better you can do with that money

If a person wants to save money for something or have savings he simply limits his mindless spending until he reaches his goal.

If you can't control your emotions while gambling, you probably won't be able to finish the game after a big win and lose all your money. Learn to leave the casino a winner, it is very important.

I reckon that it's important to leave when you're aiming to save. Because as you gamble and at the same time you also want to save, these two might contradict each other.

As you crave to gamble some more and you win, there will be chances that you'll forget to save because you're in the sensation of winning and confident that everything will be good in execution.

And in that feeling, you will not save because you are thinking that the next time you gamble, you'll win again and that's the time you'll start saving and that's the cycle.

There could be certain factors why gamblers tend to not have any savings for example bad budget management and control which is common to see in a lot of gamblers. Or maybe some of those gamblers in your country don't have much to save after paying their bills so instead of saving, they put that remaining money into gambling and expect to get more out of it. I also agree with the others and there could be a good portion of addicted gamblers that can't help themselves and it's not easy for all gamblers to easily change their habits.

in today's era (not only in Nigeria but in my country and even other parts of the world), many people who don't have savings are not just gamblers but ordinary people too, that's because they don't have good financial control. gambling is not bad but losing control of yourself and finances is bad.

I have often heard in my country a case that tells how a gambler was caught stealing - robbing - even abusing a family just to fulfill their desires at the gambling.

The problem with gambling is that it is not a matter of simple mathematics, it involves, in some cases very much, emotions.

Someone totally rational who earns £500 a week, saves 100, puts 50 into gambling and the other 350 into other expenses is not going to have a problem. They will continue to save, and every now and then they will win from a gambling session and have some extra money.

The problem is that more than one person will gamble the £50, lose it and go on to gamble more. Or even worse: you have a big win and instead of going home with the profits, you keep playing because you think you're on a roll and end up losing everything you've won and more.

This is the answer to the question of whether it is possible to earn money by gambling.

They don't have any savings because gamblers lose everything. Even what is won will eventually be lost anyway. They can't help themselves to get rid of their addiction, let alone help their family and relatives.  For me, this is a serious reason to think about whether gambling is worth it, if gambling takes all the money, not allowing anything to be accumulated, and the whole life begins to spin in one cycle: earn money to lose it in gambling, earn again and lose again in the hope of compensating for losses and improving their financial situation. This is an unhealthy life.
