Locked Account

Hey everyone!

My account: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3499411
Was locked after changed the email address and accidently clicked the lock account link (I didn't read and assumed it was an activation link )

I read a few topics/FAQs here, and noticed you need to sign with a crypto address which you had on your account.

The thing is, I've never posted a crypto address here nor have I got one linked on my account.

What I do have though is:
- Access to the registration email and current email
- Full access to the service/site I sell here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5411315) - Perhaps I could add a signature on the website?
- On the same ISP (but different IP) as registration

Would this be enough information to get the account unlocked?

Check this thread^[1] it may fall to"forgot password or similar", try to email the email mentioned, signed message from your staked address is required. But since you don't have it so explaining what happened might help. Recovery of your account may take time, at least 3-5 days or weeks, so be patient.

Have you ever publicly posted any of your bitcoin addresses here in the forum? If you did, you can share link where you have posted and sign a message. That will be pretty much easier way to get your account unlocked. Otherwise, I can't see an acceptable way to unlock.

i checked all your posts and didn't find any btc or Eth address. now only option you have to unlock you account.
its very good that you have access to both email. i hope these two emaill access is enough to get back your account.
first of all try to log in and it will give you recovery email address. just same message in mail to this email address from your both email. Tell him that you have not staked or used any address yet in this forum. also write the reason why locked happened.
You will have to wait for the email reply to arrive within 48 hours . Sometimes it can be late, so please be patient.

If you forgot the password or similar

Try using the email password reset. Check that the email isn't ending up in your spam folder. If that doesn't work, email recoveries_2021_xxlgg@bitcointalk.org, ideally from the account's email address. Include your username. A signature will likely be required (see below).

Having a digital signature option is not a requirement, particularly when you have access to both email addresses as mentioned. Simply make sure to send an email to support from your old email address.

it's just a security feature in case someone hacked your account and tried to change the email address. It helps lock them out of your account.

I read a few topics/FAQs here, and noticed you need to sign with a crypto address which you had on your account.

The thing is, I've never posted a crypto address here nor have I got one linked on my account.

a staked bitcoin address is necessary, but not mandatory. The recoveries team is flexible.

What I do have though is:
- Access to the registration email and current email
- Full access to the service/site I sell here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5411315) - Perhaps I could add a signature on the website?
- On the same ISP (but different IP) as registration

This is more than enough. The original email address and they will also probably try to check the IP logs to be sure they are coming from a similar location

I've honestly never been aware of the "lock account" feature, so don't know if it can even be recovered independently without the help of the recovery team.

Does that mean you can't also receive a recovery process email if you click the "forgot account" button?

In my opinion, it's best to do it after the instructions from recovery team.

The feature deters unauthorized use of the account.

Let say a hacker accessed your account and tried to change the email address, which is pretty easy if they have your password. A notification will be sent to your old email address containing a link to lock your account. Once clicked on, your account will be locked. Even the hacker won't be able to access it using the new and old email address. Only way of unlocking it by contacting the recoveries team.

Get directions from the recovery team, it's the best way for you to do it now even though some users have suggested you do it. Some evidence is required for the account recovery process, and it may take some time for you to get your account back if the recovery team agrees with your reasons and evidence.

Email registration is required, some other supporting evidence is also needed, especially if you have ever posted something like a bitcoin address or something. I think the bitcoin address you posted via pm is also useful in your case.
