How do we survive food shortages? Easy solution. Try tilling the ground to grow your own food and be self sufficient.
Food shortages is on the increase in an alarming rate and coupled with the recent events involving Ukraine and Russia as well as the steady warming of the earth, it’s only getting worse.
Ideally, the easiest way out of all this is to get a piece of land and cultivate your own foods. That way, you would be self sufficient as well as having some cash crops to put some money in your pockets along the way.

This is easier said than done especially when you are living in an area where there is no space to grow your own food.  This is applicable to people who are living with huge backyards but most who are in urban area has very limited space so you cannot apply this kind of solution in the said area.  Besides not many people can afford to get a piece of land.

If people really want to they could do it, they only need small space for small pots to plant vegetables.
I've seen an apartment before that have pots of eggplants and some veggies that hasn't grown yet so I am unsure what other veggies it might be infront of their apartment.
The only downside that I see on this is that it would take time but at least you know that what you would eat is freshly harvest by yourself.
But I agree with stocking some instant foods and rice.

Bitcoin mining affecting climate change is all propaganda by people who are against Bitcoin.  They wanted to hinder Bitcoin adoption by creating senseless accusations making uninformed people think that Bitcoin is the culprit of these greenhouse effects.  The green house effect or climate change has been an issue way back when I was a gradeschooler, and yet they bring it and blame the event to Bitcoin.  It is laughable to think how shallow these anti-Bitcoin people are.

With regard to food shortage, nothing beats planning ahead and stocking non-perishable goods.  Since we still have time for that event to happen, we can prepare ourselves by growing our own food. may it be vegetables, fruits, or meat.  There should be no excuses of having limited space.  If there is a will there is a way.  Besides, it is easy to grow vine vegetables and doesn't need a huge plot of land since they can be directed to grow upward and even use threads to direct it where we wanted it to spread out and grow.

I don't know either, food shortage is happening worldwide. Having crypto or fiat cannot solve this issue, it you are living in a space where you can plant on your own maybe that could be a good idea but only for you and your family, but I don't know how long it will sustain your needs. Next is hydroponics, it can be a good way to recycle things and make every resource useful.

As a rule of thumb in our household, we tend to keep a good stock of non-perishable goods in the cupboard like cup ramen, canned goods, and things that don't get bad so easily, as well as buy rice in bulk, so we don't have to go to trips to the store as much as possible, and we always stock up especially when there's extra money. I don't believe that there is an area with no ground. Even if not inside our compound, there must be one outside. Even if the space isn't that huge, that should do the job already. We won't be planting the whole vegetable in the alphabet but we should only plant the one that we need or the ones that it's easy to grow.

Eating canned goods is bad even if you say that those canned goods are vegetables because they already gone through preservations or there is already a chemical added to them so that the food will last for a long time. It's always good to eat fresh foods. Not only that but they also taste great especially if you know that you are the ones who plant them.

I’m curious on the African country you visited that despite having no desert lands, and according to you quite fertile lands but the local population literally says they do not want to work and the food should just be rolling in.
I would think that the UN or any NGO sending food and aid to that area would immediately stop sending aid there if the populace says there are not willing to work but are able to. Besides, these charitable organizations normally visit famine prone areas or disaster zones to spread relief and not somewhere that the land is fertile enough for crops to grow.

I quite agree with you on the need for more reasonable consumption as people with the financial muscle could purchase foodstuff that is more than they need and a large chunk of the groceries end up later on in the trash. I believe there are people who after having bought more than needed, would let foodstuffs go bad than donate to someone in need.

I don't understand what it does something to do with climate change and crypto. But let's tackle the food shortages, when the war with Ukraine and Russia has started, this is where it all started for the ingredients like wheat has come into shortage.
And it has impacted other food products that requires wheat and in result, the prices have increased a lot and then affected most food products that has it as a main ingredient for it to be made. But this problem is actually happening in some other nations already where people are starving to death and it's not just being spoken through the mainstream media because they're bias on it.

Start being self-sufficient and start growing greens in your backyard. If you have a small space that you can set up pots and soils on, you can probably start growing your own food and pick up things from there when you need it. In these dire scenarios, you wouldn't really expect anyone to help you as they're already busy helping themselves secure food. It's a thing that many people in richer countries have never had to experience so far and Covid showed that big unexpected shocks to the supply chain can cause many unexpected reactions. Panic buying was very prominent and might possibly be the most dangerous things early on a disaster. There are vast reserves hidden away in warehouses, but if the logistics break down or people buy too much it can turn into a vicious downwards spiral that is harder to exit. How to survive it yourself? Have plenty of tinned and non perishable goods stored up, along with a supply of vitamins and ideally try to grow some of your own vegetables in any garden space - if for no other reason than to learn a few techniques.
