Could we as Nigerians get it right in the oncoming election? Would our votes usher in the right man for the job? Are we next for meaningful change or is it just wishful thinking?

Political leadership is a thing of the personality of the politician and if a country gets blessed with a good leader, 4 years of political tenure is enough to bring a 10 years of posterity, the current president of Zambia is one of such Leader that God has brought for the country economic freedom and as a selfless leader who the welfare and economic situation of the citizens is his utmost concern denying himself the basic salary for his office is a quality, not many politicians can have.
-most contemporary politicians and political officeholders are all after the money there can grab from the government and the welfare of the country and its citizens is not their concern.
-God has blessed a few African countries with such good leaders e.g Nelson Mandela of South Africa 🇿🇦 is one good example of such a good and exemplary leader we can point to his positive thrive and achievement in South Africa and the result transcends beyond his tenure setting the path to growth and development.
-On the side of 9ja own political faith and the possibility of electing the right leader, the answer is still that, the faith of Nigeria 🇳🇬 is in the hand of God, and the only thing we as citizens can do at this moment is to vote wisely.

This goes a long way to vindicate the heated argument that African countries number one sociopolitical and economic problem is that of leadership and not natural the availability of natural resources as our natural ambient is greatly enriched with every natural resources needed to pull out a nation from the shackles of tattered and battered economy. All that's lacking is nothing but good leaders in position of public offices. I hope someday Nigerians can get it right by jettisoning every religious, ethnic and political affiliation and vote in the needed and capable man for the job needed to be done to make Nigeria and Nigerians great again.

When we don't believe that our vote will put the right person in power, that's where we have already started failing. Nigeria is really not as democratic as the preach, but we should always keep in mind that one vote is our power, and casting the right vote can change this country for the better. No body too good but we should try voting for our choice and see there performance, if we don't try we might never know if it's work's.

It is a pity to our country that the good hearted people are not given the opportunity to be in power to let people experience good leadership. Power is given to the same caucus people which all have the same agenda in mind, which is to steal the country's funds to themselves and their families, leaving the people to ravish in hunger and poverty. I just hope opportunities should be given to good people just the way Zambia voted a good man that is only after the welfare and growth of his citizens. Our votes can count,if majority votes for one same candidate, I guess it will be hard to manipulate but if the votes are shared amongst the parties, then it becomes easy to manipulate. Imagine how much a senator is paid monthly in Nigeria,it is enough to take care of 10 families in Nigeria.

What Nigeria lacks that led us into the current mess is basically good leaders, so if we get it right this time, hope will come and things will start changing from bad to good, but this will take time. The country has been battered for decades, and it can't be fixed easily, yet a good leader now is desperately needed that will set things back to what they should be before other good leaders will start building on it.

I hope this will happen one day, but I am certain that it will never happen with the PDP and APC candidates. If the two enters, then we continue from where we stopped.

I just wish our leaders can replicate this and and do what is right for us as a great nation we always clamor that we are. If a country like Zambia can achieve this in two years of choosing the right leader into office, then I believe Nigeria can also do that even though it will take a tenure (4 years) to achieve that. We are blessed as a nation, we have the resources just like other great nations have. What we lack is a good leader, and I hope we get it right this time around as OP said.
