Scarcity of new naira notes..! Them still dey collect old notes for your area??

Omo my area them done change am for us o, them no dey collect of naira notes again, and the new notes we no dey even see am, I no know waiting them want us to do , CBN talk say as from 10th of February the old naira notes seized to be a legal tender in the country, and some banks no dey take am again, even some eatry no dey take am .they just accept transfer and payment through POS, so the matter the serious by the day , the funny thing be say when you go POS dem no go give you the old naira notes, some POS wey get new naira notes , if you wan collect 3k for old notes dem go charge you 1k but for new Naira na 1500 dem they charge, na wa o make dem hear our cry naa

Well, for my area here, people still dey collect old naira note ooh, business people no get choice na, customers no get the new note, and some of the customers no even sabi do transfer from their phone, you wey dey sell market, if you sit down dey wait for who go carry new note come give you before you sell your market, na im be say you no go sell anything through out that day, and if na perishable goods you con the sell, na that one come even worst, so they really no get choice, they still dey accept the old notes here, even filing stations they accept the old notes, except rain oil wey kwechili, say they no take the old note again.

OP this one no be say how e be for my area, nah almost everywhere. One Filling station wey dy my side dy make this whole exchange of old and new moni dy hard for piple, if them get mind tell us say them no go take old moni that means say we go use our mouth chop our moni nah bcos if you no spend am how you wan take get wetin you need...? CBN done dey give procedures to deposit money for their branches all over the 36states and FCT as commercial banks no dey receive old notes for counter again,The procedure just too much Abeg, I pity who still hold old cash for hand , as to deposit am now go really take time and energy, but wait o the old money nai still dey circulate for market o, the new money never come I just wonder how them wan do am o, becos people still plenty wey hold old cash ,
Shops wey dey my area no wan carry eye see old money o, na new money them want or u do transfer for them , e just make life hard.

I just see the circular wey CBN release about how people go deposit money for their accounts through the CBN. Seeing that you gatz go online generate some kind of token, the layman or an illiterate person cannot do all that process and the activity is just for 3 days, from Wednesday to Friday under stipulated time. Last last, most people go lose money seriously, I pray God replenish it back for them in the soonest.

With the rate at which our country is going, I think our leaders are just forgetting the main reasons, why they are up there. The decision makers no longer make good decisions, as long as it benefits them. As at yesterday, i withdrew a small amount of money in Old notes of which I was supposed to use in the evening. As at evening, I found out that the old notes where no longer collected in the market it was so frustrating. I decided to deposit it back to my account through the same pos I withdrew from, but unfortunately she said that she won't collect old notes. I tried explaining to her that I withdrew the money from her but she refused and said that it was in the morning and there was nothing she could do for me. It was so funny and frustrating as same time. Please we should all come out and vote for good leadership ooohhhh it's this month that decides the future of Nigeria in the next 5 years.

No be lie weh you talk on that procedure thing. Even when you read the guidelines for the thing you self go understand say CBN no want to collect the old naira again. I no see how the thing go fit to pass through all that validation process after so many days of submitting it except say the person deh connected.

Hausa traders weh deh my state, Imo still deh collect the old naira notes till yesterday o. If them stop na him be say na today them stop. I know come know wetin give them the courage to accept the old notes when even most filling stations for Imo stopped collecting on February 10th.

As of all other days, today own worst, to buy something turn problem for my area, even fuel station way been they help our life they take the old money, today dem abandon us. nah just later 4 d evening after Banks them don say mke  we carry the old note come b4 dem come they take am small small, if not nah transfer I they carry pay since morning, even for fast food way I go buy I pay #400 with transfer. That way you go avoid stress and use less of cards because the kind debit wey dey happen this days of unsuccessful transaction ehh. I dun call my customer care to the extent they sabi my number now lol.

Na true , sha but e depends on the area wey you dey , for my area you fit run transfer give only super stores , but this market people no dey allow transfer at all, them go say dem need the cash , what if you wan come enter transport, most keke napep drivers no go collect transfer, the cashless policy I believe if we give am time e go work out well but for now the negative effects wey e get on our society too much, and we no been really prepare for am, we been think say na to just go bank go deposit your old notes collect new ones ,

These days I no d even send whether the new naira notes or the old naira the exist sef. Na transfer I d run on a reg for wetin I d buy. Although na for supermarket wey I d buy almost everything wey I need. The only cash wey d d my hand na for small movements (transportation). I no get time to d follow this POS talk cos their mata d vex me.

Before this deadlines of old and new currency even reach, I was able to spend all my old currency before hand cos I know how the matter go be if I no prepare sef ahead by saving up 100naira, 50naira for transportation cos peso no fit the transfer such amount for transportation. Up till now, I still d save up 50naira and 100naira like tomorrow no d for transportation.

I know how hard the situation be for the country right now. Infact make I share my own small experience today.
So after I roamed up and kept my eyes peeled out for any POS with available cash to dispense, I finally stumbled upon one that had cash and was the only one for a long distance. I paid the agreed charge which was more than 10% and he wanted to give me more old notes and fewer new ones. Thank God I declined and only took a thousand naira in two 500naira piece.
I spent one on food, but when I got to the market, everyone refused to accept the old notes all of a sudden and I had to start doing transfer o. Thank God again for microfinance bank, OPAY. I for hear whiiim today, mostly as aboki cut my meat, I no get cash and network no come agree to work again o.
The transfer finally worked and I just carry my small foodstuff run to my house. All effort to use the other 500naira note has been futile as no one agreed to accept it.
Which way Naija. Never thought we would go back to trade by barter system or buying naira for naira.
I will frame the note and hang it on my wall as a reminder of a country called Nigeria.

E good say govt dey try make d contri go cashless but if them wan do dat wan, e for beta to make the online transactions run smoothly nau. For days my moni I do transfer, I receive debit bit person neva receive the alert and nah so moni just hang. Try say you wan go bank, that wan go be different story. The thing be say, if we govt want make we go cashless, make them secure online transactions because the frustration of no cash fit kili person o.
