It is everywhere, and yes we need to double-check everything when it comes to the internet. The virus can enter to our computer in many ways including what OP said "Mortal Kombat that contain viruses".

There is a virus through email and there is through and ads or Phishing websites. I will share a tips including using VPN and Adblocker and never open and link or item that have been send to your Email, telegram or discord that you don't know the person is.

Know that viruses are one of the types of malware, but malware are many. Viruses even only causes damage to devices and it also makes devices to function abnormally. But the malware that are used as clipboard malware are more related to trojan.

You are talking about clipboard malware. I too do not really know how it replaced original address to a fake one, but you can read a little more about it on the link that I provided above. We should never download random or random applications because that will cause malware viruses to arrive without us realizing it. In essence, we have to be careful, especially when storing bitcoins in a hot wallet, of course anything can happen with a malware virus that can clipboard your coin address.

Because of the warnings giving by users to avoid links and ads I am even afraid to click links even if the lick is provided by a user here. Malware is something virus creators normally send to the internet  and not everyone is aware that the message that is send to them is a malware until them confirm the link and when the system malfunction. Most of the time these malware threads are presented to the receiver in a very good manner. Sometime it is a very pretty girl is used to present in the message which would convinced the bearer of the message. These malware threads always seen in spam box in the message box.
But this is the first time I am hearing Mortal Kombat ransomware. Thank you for the information.
