I don't get you being a enthusiast and asking for a suggestion here and declaring that you have a minimal knowledge. Enthusiast should even have at least the common knowledge on how things work and don't really ask question like this. I believe that you are just trying to learn crypto for some time now just because you know people living a good life because they do well on crypto. I think you should be more determined first on learning it since I think you will lose motivation at the moment you lose some money into crypto, I believe that it is a bad way to start your journey. The minimal knowledge of buying low and selling high is enough to make profit in this sector as far as I have seen. But you have to keep yourself limited to bitcoin in that path. Try going for altcoins, there will be no end to your suffering specially if you are going for the newly developed and launched projects, they need at least a good couple of years before being evaluated critically.

It’s subjective, it all depends what you’re looking for & what your risk level is. Personally I prefer bitcoin only, I mean I have other coins but negligible amounts.

If you are a newbie, then your first objective has to be “learning “. If you chase for profits in such early stage, then definitely you gonna make miserable losses. At first try to understand the market first. See when the market moves up and goes down. What is marketcap and why it’s important factor, when we are thinking to buy a coin. As a start I would suggest you to invest in BTC, ETH and Ripple. These coins are good and not so volatile. They have good marketcap and are doing pretty well from the past few years. Just don’t get greedy, and set a selling target for the coins.
