I have just been reading up on the bomb story in the Harvey's Resort Hotel. What impresses me is how the guy constructed this bomb. He must have paid some professionals. If you read about it, as the author in your excerpt describes, there was no way for the bomb disposal squad to shut it down safely. We all know so many movies where there is at least this one cable you have to cut and then you are fine.

Everyone who saw the series "Bodyguard" on Netflix or "The Hurt Locker" with Jeremy Renner. Every time they defused a bomb I asked myself why those bombs are not just build in a way that they simply can't be defused.

Now I read about this story and this guy made it! But when an FBI professional team can't defuse it, I doubt that John Birges himself could have done it.

The best about the story is that nobody was harmed physically. As a hotel owner it must feel bad. I wonder if an insurance pays for a bomb attack like that?

Lol when I read the title of this thread I thought that the words I can read is damn serious and can earn in legitimate ways but smiling while reading those crazy methods.

I think kidnapping the owner's daughter is funniest and interesting but the thing is, if it has lot of chaperone around them that will be a different story. You need a full proof plan to do it. These are totally not for the faint hearted and I don't think this is a good thing to do unless you are on your worst to get that money.

Hard to do this especially if you don't have a team since this need proper team work and excellent plan before you can make this plan to succeed. For sure those people are well guarded and random people cannot easily penetrate with them especially if they are newbie criminals.

I didn't know what to expect but I certainly did not expect the number 5 and 2. The rest are rather normal-ish in terms of having an idea of doing something to get the money in a bad way, but those two? Didn't expect it. 5 had the surprise factor since I didn't know what the post was, and 2 were just straight new to me (but hacking through the local access via wireless connections is understandable).

A rather new type of post I must say, I expected the dumb strategy post once again which, to no surprise, includes martingale again. Glad it wasn't.

I thought casinos included electronic or chip identifiers in their high-value chips? So in case of a heist of this nature the Casino would not actually get losses?

Also, If I was a casino I would certainly offer some NFC application for Android and IOS mobile phone to easily identify stolen chips.

This happened a long time ago and as you can see, the image looks very blurry so I am sure that there is no such thing as as that back in time but those things are now not surprising, knowing how things have evolved. Out of the 5 stories, it looks like everyone in the room agrees that the number one is the most funniest of them all.

There are truly some robbers who are dumb and don't planned their moves properly, which is why they could get caught easily. If only that guy just continue what he was doing, which is selling the chips inside the casino than the online forums, then I think he will surely cashed out all of it in no time but he got greedy and wants to make a bigger deal.

Number 1 is the funniest because it is so damn sophisticated and consequent, hell man it is consequent!

You go and play there, lose the money, then say fuck it I am going to blow this whole thing up!

And eventually, you don't just think that way, but you execute the plan in a way that even the FBI can't stopping you from pulling it off. I would still like to know how he managed to build this unstoppable bomb. I did a bit of googling but couldn't find anything about that. The dedication is funny in some way. If I wanted to build a bomb because I am mad, first I wouldn't know where to start and then I couldn't execute it even if I find plans on the Internet, but then to even build one that can't be defused, that is impressive...
It also need big balls to build a 1,000 pounds bomb in your basement or wherever and then drive it to the hotel. He probably played at the casino tables with the same confidence and lost it all!

You may be right, I simply assumed that casinos implemented those security measures as soon as the electronics were available, for example, cameras and phones.
But I assume they did not expect someone to be as daring enough to steal that much from them.

Also, It seems that people in general tend to get greedy when comes to casino chips, whether those were gotten in a legitimate way or not.

Kidnapping the owner's daughter is something that I can immediately think about because when we kidnap the owner's daughter and can take her heart to love us, there is a possibility that we will be the son-in-law of the casino owner hahaha.

But it will be strange because it is impossible. Moreover, his parents will hire a secret agent to look for where is his daughter. And they can also kill us because we have kidnapped the casino owner's daughter.

Or maybe just kidnap the owner’s daughter and demand a ransom, that will still give you an instant fortune but I’m not sure if you will really end up being fortunate, otherwise you will only end up being imprisoned for couple of years. So whatever crime you committed, you will always pay for that so never start one. If you want to be wealthy, work for it, it could be gambling I guess hitting the jackpot, but never resort into criminal acts.

Kudos to this woman as she stick to what she believe is right, and so she end up getting the money she deserves. Yo, its messed up how casinos are gettin hit, not just the old-skool heist, but also thru hackin! I mean, thatz straight-up illegal and not cool for all the hard-workin peeps in the gamblin industry. In my humble opinion, the reason these robberies are happenin is cuz of the weak-ass security measurs and protocals that aint doin the job of protectin both the casinos and their customers. Thats why I think the gamblin industry should step up and invest in some next-level technologee to beef up their cyberscurity and avoid gettin jacked. These are just situations of "what if" if you can't win against the casino and you still want to win against them without doing the traditional way of gambling.

Working there is really one of the ways that you're not required to gamble and get paid from casino's profit. That's actually a profession that's on the seats now and making a decent living for those that have been there.

Aside on doing the legal or ethical stuff then it would be particularly talking about playing literally but if you do go into the other side of things on which you do find yourself on doing criminal acts then it could
possible but does it really worth it on the risk on putting yourself or life in danger or getting imprisoned for the rest of your life? The key on here is that you shouldn't really that make yourself that being
mindful on how you would make yourself rich on the fastest way around because of desperation you might really be ending up on going on the wrong path which would lead into a huge problem.

all that planning just to screw up on giving directions hahaha. kudos to the son's girlfriend for giving the police a tip on his whereabouts and I'm glad he got life imprisonment, he could have killed a lot of people for what he did. I wonder if Harvey got a lien on John Birge's property/s(if he ever had one) after doing all that damage on his casino.

In the 5th story, the guy who planned everything is both smart and an idiot at the same time. He did everything so well and then messed up the drop location. Or, I also feel that maybe he did it because he knew he'd be having a visit from the FBI before the money. However, he still couldn't manage to save himself from the punishment.

I find story #4 a bit inspiring, and just like Eng, I believe that we should always fight for our rights. Marina Bay is a pretty big name in the restaurant and casino industries. It's quite unbelievable that they did something like that.

There’s also an incidents like this in my country before, but many died because of the incidents and robbery, this might look like an easy money but its not fun to me, this is illegal and a big crimes which I believe you can’t easily escape since the casinos always have the connection and they will do anything to avoid this as much as possible.

The only way to make money in casino without gambling is to work with them and be part of that casino, I guess this is more safe and practical, you don’t have to commit crimes just to make money.
