I am quite surprised that you mention poker as the one game where this should be the case. Poker is such a competitive game that I would have expected it to be the other way round, professional poker players who only focus on winning should be taking advantage of gamblers who only play a little for fun. I know this from the home casino in my city, and also in Las Vegas there are a lot of regular poker players that want to take advantage of the tourists who only come in town for a few days. In my opinion being not very competitive and focusing on winning is a problem in poker, because you need to stay focused for a long period of time. In poker there is no house edge, we only play against other gamblers, and the one that stays mentally strong the longest is likely going to win. Luck plays a big role at the beginning in poker, but the longer we play the smaller becomes the impact of luck and the more important is our strategy.

This is an amazing observation, and I think it is very accurate that for playing poker successfully you need a relaxed mind. And you are right, it works both for land-based casinos and online ones. Anyway, chasing for money is just a waste. I mean why gamble for the sake of money if you can gamble for the sake of fun right?

Gambling just to chase money will just lead you to bad decisions especially when you are losing, you tend to decide worse thus, letting you lose money even more. If you're gambling because it's your stress reliever then losing your money doesn't matter that much to you. As for me, I'm only gambling for fun, and it makes me even more excited to watch sports game (since I'm betting mostly on sports). I don't watch games that much if I'm not gambling.

Just don't chase winnings especially when it comes to gambling where there is a high chance that you might lose your money.

I agree. Betting for fun is way less stressing than betting big. And it gives you the gambling dopamine rush without so much the gambling money loss aspect of the casino experience 

The amount of money you should gamble is something that nobody else can decide for you. You should look at how much of your monthly income you can spare and not go beyond that number. For me, 10% from the "fun funds" of the income pie is just right.

Meaning also we don't get hurt when we lose because we just play it for fun and we are not expecting a return that will make us disappointed. It is really stressful if you expect to win but turns out you are on lose streak this will lead to your emotion triggering that you'll need to chase up losses. I agree that gambling for fun helps you think better or be more level-headed when gambling or playing poker but it doesn't really help you win with "less effort". One cannot be able to predict the outcome of games even when we have carried out enough analysis. Losing might lead to uncontrollable anger,  drug use, ill health, and even death. I think this is a fact you should take note of in gambling, the more desperate you're in winning the more you attempts on loosing, but you you gambles with passion and total interest, you do some things which may sound nasty on other gambler as risk taking but you're taking that for fun after which the luck comes in through those means you took.

Yes and there's no explanation for this than trying it out yourself, gambling itself is all about fun, if you don't get the fun you can't have the win.
