Almost all airdrop videos on YouTube are all scams, do not try hunting for airdrops using YouTube videos, those airdrops links in Youtube videos are all fake links and once you connect your wallet your tokens will be wiped out.

Find the project team or the o projects official telegram group and ask them if they are doing any airdrops or giveaways, this is the perfect way to expose or know the truth about any airdrop campaign.

Not only should you never trust any airdrop where you need to link your wallet. You should ALWAYS double check even the official telegram group. Any telegram group that's offering you free stuff is most likely a fake group. I know some fake telegram groups made for mid level cryptocurrencies that claim to be an official groups and they have even more members then actual official one.

That being said. I don't hunt for airdrops. I usually get them just by being an early supporter of some projects. And they have been paying a lot in the past.

If it doesn't require me a lot then I'd just sign up for it but to say that I'm hunting for it, is not in that situation. I've got real-life friends that have a lot of time doing all of those things required by a project that's giving airdrops. There is no guarantee with it and yet they spend their time on it in hope that one day it will be like those projects that have got some buff and managed to get listed in various exchanges adding value and price to their tokens. I've given them my word already that if it asks for their personal information it might later be sold somewhere they didn't know in exchange only for that hope and potential token that might give them pennies in value. I can't blame them for that since they look enjoying of what they do but enough is enough and I've given them some words already.

Yes I agree with what was said, the official channel doesn't guarantee it will actually be a promising project (don't end up being a scam). Everything is still a possibility that it can still happen, it's just that there may be a smaller chance of becoming a fraudulent project.

That's wrong. When you consider that over 90% of projects turn out to be shams or scams the chance of them becoming fraudulent and misusing your information is very high.

As I recommended earlier, avoid applying for multiple airdrops as you risk your funds and privacy.

Even if you do find the project team, official telegram, LinkedIn pages of each team with a lots of followers, they are not entirely the indicator of something of "not a scam". A scummy team would pretend to be another team just to make the public believe that they are legitimate cause who in the legitimate team would check it anyway, right?

I would steer clear of airdrops if I were you. It is not just worth it. Upgrade00 also mentioned "identity theft" and believe me, it almost happened to me back then as well with just an icing on the top of the cake of phishing website.

I couldn't think it joining anymore but by chance given the opportunity and seeing that airdrop is worth participating in, then why not? But if we are talking about hunting them and spending/wasting our time digging into hundreds or thousands of airdrops, I don't think so.

It is a no brainer if you're connecting your main wallet for the airdrops and it is also a no brainer if you use your main wallet to participate in any giveaways like airdrops.
I don't even see any risk if you're using a dummy wallet to participate in any airdrops. I'm kinda confuse as to why you're still afraid of the risk in connecting your other wallet, when of course it does not have any crypto stored on it.

Airdrop hunters should practice having a wallet that is only intended for wallets and giveaways like this.  You can possibly lose some assets depending on the situation you have. Most of the airdrop hunters use one wallet for their airdrop hunting activity, This is for them to be organized and be move way easier than keep changing wallet each time they join airdrops. The risk in this is your airdrop wallet be hacked with a valuable token inside you get from another airdrop that you don't know like forgetting to check the value of coins you receive or you don't check the coins you receive. There's always a risk in every move you make especially if you don't really focus on things you do on crypto.

And that is the problems with airdrops, even if the amount was small as long as people could get that amount in a reliable way then their efforts as bounty hunters will not be wasted, but since many of those airdrops are scams or the never pay their bounty hunters then looking for airdrops has become a complete waste of time, which explains why over the years the interest on bounty hunting seems to have dropped considerably.

I still participate in airdrop events; and i participate in the credible ones. Such as retroactive airdrops and testnet airdrops; i also run testnet nodes for different projects in return for incentives at main launch. When it involves retroactive airdrops, you should use metamask and your pc, and you would need some funds. When its testnet event; you need to use brand new wallet to protect yourself. For nodes, you need your pc and an attentive mind to set up easily.

Airdrops are rewarding; just always remember that projects that will pay have the easiest instructions in an airdrop event

It is wasting your time and effort. There are only a few, almost none, that you can earn in airdrops right now, unlike before, like, 5 years ago, when it was really good. We called it before "There's money in garbage" because we could earn money from it. There will be times when you get lucky and earn a lot of money, but it will be on a weekly basis. But now most of them are scams, so it would be better to focus your time on others than join those, unless you have plenty of time.

The word "stupid" is a harsh description for those people that are still trying to do those though. Let's just call it "inexperienced" instead. There are some recent replies pointing out that there are somehow still legitimate airdrops going on, but I ain't going to try to attempt them regardless since I do not have the time to do another airdrop hunts again like I usually do before.

It's just not worth it in my own time. Others might enjoy it though so good for them.

But indeed for now the comparison is one in a hundred and maybe even a thousand because indeed for Airdrop at this time most of it is just other than shitcoin, namely fraud, nothing more than that.

The era of airdrops that could bring us huge profits has long been over. Currently, most airdrops will turn out to be scams. Although some airdrops can be profitable, it may not be worth it because they have to wait for the token to find a place on exchanges. And from day to day, token holders must keep waiting for further information from the project when they can sell their tokens.

Maybe they can still look for the airdrops, but it's better not to force them to participate, especially if the airdrop program requires complete KYC because we don't know how strong they can protect our data.
