Hello guys my curiosity has really gotten the best of me. I was so eager to get involved in the trending Bitcoin currency that is everywhere in my locality. Bitcoin is acceptable in so many small scale business around me in my locality, I mean I had to just ask what was this all about and finally I was introduced here and since my coming I have Learnt alot and still in the process of learning. But I came to understand few things here which gave me the courage to wanting to purchase Bitcoin and keep it so I can see some tangible profit when the price go up . Although the purchase is small but you won't blame me as it's a first timer situation and in addition to the fact that the funds are not available enough for me but I just want to let everyone know am also a Bitcoin holder now and willing to purchase more as bitcoin is also a financial gateway to freedom of saving fund. But I really had to take my Time to understand the whole volatility of Bitcoin before taking this bold step.

As irritating as this is beginning to look in my eyes, I would say, you've done yourself solid by buying a few sats. That's nice but, is it really something we should celebrate? Like why should we...? You bought your first bitcoin and then what?

This is a trend that I have seen to go around one too many times and it's already polarised at my end. Do we have to see this sort of thread over and over again; i bought my first bitcoin,  i purchased goods with bitcoin, I started accepting bitcoin in my business and lots of those similar threads.

This makes me see reason why mega threads are been put in place to house this sort of festivity. Do we have one? I think it hould be made elaborate and let's have all these directed there.
Don't take this personal as its got nothing personal about it, am just not feeling the vibe no more for these trends.

I hope you are holding your coins in a safe wallet. Is that a Binance P2P purchase on the picture? Did you leave your coins on Binance or did you withdraw them elsewhere?
First of all, I would never advice anyone to hold coins on an exchange but (there is always a but) in your case, it makes more sense than withdrawing them. Let me explain why. You own 0.00027... BTC. Binance's withdrawal fee (I am assuming that is Binance on the image) over the real Bitcoin blockchain is 0.0002 BTC. Not only that, but you don't have enough for a withdrawal. But you have enough to withdraw fake bitcoins. Don't let Binance trick you into withdrawing bitcoin over some alternative networks like its native Smart Chain or as a BEP2 token. Those are centralized and pegged BTC tokens and not the real bitcoin.

Congratulation on your first purchase of Bitcoin, and welcome to the Bitcoin community.  It might be a small amount but who knows, after a decade that amount might grow 100-fold once adoption mass adoption took place.  It is somehow unadvisable to transfer your fund if it is sitting in an exchange because it will be just eaten by the transaction fee.  Better accumulate a good amount first before withdrawing it to your wallet.

If you have an extra fund, you can always accumulate Bitcoin in a small chunk, that is at least a proven strategy for people who has no huge amount of money but wanted to invest.

Welcome onboard mate, nice step you took here in buying Bitcoin. A little bit larger than mine at the first time purchase but we all start our bitcoin journey somewhere so I will just advice you keep holding on strong, and make sure you buy more so your chances of getting some profits will be high when the price pump up during the bull season. One thing that is always advice here is not to forget to move your coins off the exchange you use in buying and take it to a more safer environment which is a non custodial wallet like the electrum wallet and remember to always keep your seed phrase safe and saving it offline is more preferably as it will be free from any cyber attacks.

Small or big amount are the same. If you have the courage to invest then feel free to do so but if you are just carried away by the hype this industry is having, ease down and learn things first. Managing the risks won't be as easy as it may sound; the market price moves a lot and you have to prepare yourself on every decline of its value. If that is on the centralized wallet which I think is based on the image you've shown, you're not safe because you didn't have full control over your coins, the golden rule that always to remember, "Not your keys, not your coin".  Just quickly move your Bitcoin to a safe wallet, Electrum would be the best for beginners because it is free to install.

One thing that you must be always remembered, never to panic and sell and never sell under the price where you purchase, that's insane.

With small amount, you can apply Dollar Cost Averaging. With time and DCA, you will spend very big net capital by DCA and you will accumulate considerable Bitcoin.

It is a good start no matter how big or small your investment is, as long as it is open to your heart. We don't know how big your profit will be in the future. Try to accumulate bitcoin overtime, like buying small sats every time you receive your salary, so that you can accumulate bigger bitcoin overtime. Also, I am not sure if you are aware, but it is safe if you transfer your bitcoin away from exchanges, as you know from the cases that happened last year about exchanges, and it is not safe.

I'm glad to hear that many businesses are accepting Bitcoin in your local area. I can't say the same thing about my local area.
I wouldn't say that buying a small amount of BTC is a bold step. A bold step would be to put all your life savings into Bitcoin. I wouldn't recommend that, because the price volatility and all the ups and downs might influence you into making some wrong financial decisions.
You should remember that strong hands are the ones that will win and weak hands will always lose at the end.

Congratulations for making your first crypto purchases. You made the right decision and in a few years you will look back at this moment and see that should have not worry so much about it. It's always good to first fully understand something before your invest your money into it. Volatility is back deal in the bitcoin market which worries some investors, but it's also that high volatility which lets the bitcoin price jump upwards 50% in a few months. Without volatility we wouldn't make a lot of money of it. Two things I recommend you to focus on, first of all make sure you have a secure wallet so that you don't face the risk of losing your coins. The Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu said "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step". The OP has taken the hardest step i.e. the first one. Once you actually jump into bitcoin you feel the freedom it has over the traditional financial system. Right now the price of Bitcoin is ideal for investment, as it wont go much down from here.
Keep accumulating Bitcoin in small chunks is the key to success in this sector. Its not how much you accumulate rather the consistency with which you accumulate aka DCA.

Actually, this is the recommended way to invest in bitcoins when you are not the sons of the senators,  what I mean by that is when you are not really rich and you are just earning minimal income but when you have a big dream like this, you can actually make a huge stepping forward when you constantly buy bitcoins at its lower price because we all know that when the price will rise up to new ATH, there will be no other who will gonna benefit it but us bitcoins holders. Continue buying and don't listen to the critics, after all, it's your money and your dream.

Nigeria is starting to take more advanced steps compared to other countries around it, the large use of bitcoin as a means of payment in the country especially micro businesses shows that the interest of Nigerians in bitcoin is quite large at this time, as we know that El Salvador was the first country to adopt bitcoin absolutely at the moment but in my opinion Nigeria will probably follow El Salvador lead if later the Nigerian people can experience greater benefits from the use of bitcoin in their environment, especially since previously the Nigerian government has imposed restrictions on withdrawing fiat money at ATMs and this is aimed to accelerate the transition from using fiat money to using cashless (digital), thereby enabling the Nigerian government to make bitcoin an alternative means of transaction in the future.

Congratulations guy, I don't care how many bitcoins you get what you earn from the fiat you use, it's a good move as a beginner, and to be honest I'm in the buying phase the first time buying bitcoins takes a very long time because of the environment I'm not very new to bitcoin and don't even seem to know the name bitcoin, maybe you can say that you are luckier than me. First off, that's great to hear about your local town having lots of small scale businesses whom are accepting bitcoin as payment.  That is what it's all about in my opinion.  It's important in my mind that bitcoin be used as a means of trade, a currency.  There's quite a few people I know who disagree with that sentiment, but I think they are dead wrong.  That being said, bitcoin is more about the technology and the breakthrough that it is, versus "making profits".  I would continue to learn about bitcoin and understand how it all works before you really start to worry about making money.  Just my 2.

I hope you are holding your coins in a safe wallet. Is that a Binance P2P purchase on the picture? Did you leave your coins on Binance or did you withdraw them elsewhere?
First of all, I would never advice anyone to hold coins on an exchange but (there is always a but) in your case, it makes more sense than withdrawing them. Let me explain why. You own 0.00027... BTC. Binance's withdrawal fee (I am assuming that is Binance on the image) over the real Bitcoin blockchain is 0.0002 BTC. Not only that, but you don't have enough for a withdrawal. But you have enough to withdraw fake bitcoins. Don't let Binance trick you into withdrawing bitcoin over some alternative networks like its native Smart Chain or as a BEP2 token. Those are centralized and pegged BTC tokens and not the real bitcoin. 

As much as I love bitcoin this example shows that it's not the best way for the poor to save money. If $5 is a lot of money for our OP and it has to be because he's willing to celebrate the purchase and I bought a cappuccino at starbucks today for $4 and then had to spend $50 to "feed" my car.

What we've learned today?

You spend pennies on bitcoin at a centralized platform, you'll spend it all on fees.
You think you bought $20 of bitcoin, but in reality you have probably 5 left, unless you get yourself fooled again and change it to a stable coin or some shitcoin in search of lower fee.
I see no way for these exchanges to be attractive in poor countries unless they drop these ridiculous fees.

It's common for most of us to try buying bitcoin with just a small amount, My friends also still have some doubts before when I introduced bitcoin to them that's why they bought small amount just like yours that's why there's nothing to be sorry for. It's nice that the adoption in your local place is advancing, Sooner or later it will be for the most small scale businesses as they will notice that people are using bitcoin and will adopt to it as well. As irritating as this is beginning to look in my eyes, I would say, you've done yourself solid by buying a few sats. That's nice but, is it really something we should celebrate? Like why should we...? You bought your first bitcoin and then what?

This is a trend that I have seen to go around one too many times and it's already polarised at my end. Do we have to see this sort of thread over and over again; i bought my first bitcoin,  i purchased goods with bitcoin, I started accepting bitcoin in my business and lots of those similar threads.

This makes me see reason why mega threads are been put in place to house this sort of festivity. Do we have one? I think it hould be made elaborate and let's have all these directed there.

I can imagine how overwhelmed you felt after making your first bitcoin investment. But, you should be aware that due to its price, investing in bitcoin demands a sizable amount of money before you can make a decent profit from it.

According to the image you uploaded, you invested 5000 naira(Nigeria currency), which at the time the bitcoin price was $18,338k was equivalent to around 0.00027264 BTC. That's to say you invested $4 in BTC if you add up the money you received in BTC and its price at the time (18k+). which is too little to invest in bitcoin.

The last phrase is a big no, no matter how likely and big the profits are in the future because even if holding these coins for a long-time bases is good, it doesn't erase the fact that these coins are so volatile that it can move in an unexpected manner and it doesn't guarantee us profits at all. The safest type of wallets are the ones that are non-custodial and open source: that means you have your keys and recovery phrase, and you can also verify the code of the wallet to be sure the developers are not doing anything harmful behind the scenes. You can also buy a hardware wallet for offline storage, but never keep your coins in a custodial wallet were a third party has your keys.

Electrum wallet is recommended, it is non-custodial and open source, but it is a hot wallet or cold storage depending on how you use it, if you need a wallet for storing a small amount of BTC, you can use electrum as a hot wallet, but if you need a wallet to store a large amount of BTC and for the long run, maybe you should learn how to set up an electrum wallet as a cold storage (1 or 2), or buy a hardware wallet.

I hope you know that your funds are not only safe because of the wallet you use, but also by how you use it, if you expose your seed phrase or keys your funds would be stolen, so as you learn more about wallets, also learn how to use them in a safe enviroment.

Yes, it's true that no one blames us here when investing in bitcoin either in large amounts or in small amounts because we can buy any fraction of bitcoins for us to hold in the long term, but if you want to get big profits then it's better if you continue to do DCA when you have have funds to invest in bitcoin, the greater the amount of bitcoin that we hold, the greater the profit we will get when bitcoin later increases to a higher level.

But I really don't like trading bitcoin if I don't have upto $1k capital and above, I'm this type of person that will want to appreciate any  profit I got on any trade and in order for that to happen I don't go trading bitcoin with little capital, instead of that use ur $100 - $1000 and look for low gem coins and buy. You can split your capital into 3 projects and buy once it moves up, you will definitely appreciate your profit, rather than buying bitcoin with $500 and in one year you haven't made $100 profit.

There are some threads that are just written without any proof, like photos, which is really skeptical and just posted for sake of merit, and there are also others that have photos on them, though whatever their reason, I hope they can benefit from it. Also, I've seen threads about teaching students or children about bitcoin; some are fishy, while others are also nice and a great idea. If their intentions are true and it is not for merit that they join campaigns, then it is really helpful to others as they really want to spread awareness about bitcoin, but if it is not , then they won't last long here in the forum as for sure they got busted by the veterans here.

Maybe i think the mods and admins has to look into this, please they shouldn't quote me wrongly but something needs to be done, we can welcome and accepts a seminar presentation or even hosting a meeting with villagers, communities and companies, this sounds very good and promotional, creating a paths for bitcoin within the localities and their grassroot.

There are some people who are still procrastinating on buying bitcoin since February that the price was around 18+ but didn't use the opportunity to buy. Presently that the price is 29k you must have made little profit. I must convey my candid words to describe how courageous you are OP, to have made a move to invest in BTC and you still didn't stop at just learning how to and getting your first asset. One other thing I think that made your learning and acquisition remarkable, is that BTC  is recognized and used for business transaction in your locale. There is not a lot to understand about bitcoin's volatility: the crypto world still nowadays is relatively small so there are several news that can affect it. I agree, I remember the first day when I got my first bitcoin, not sure if I shared it here or not I can't remember it but I know that I was sharing with everyone and most people didn't even know what a bitcoin is at the time, yet I was still sharing it and it was a great moment in my life, I could easily say that it was the day my life changed completely and I am living a much much better life because of it, bitcoin always rewards those who stick with it.

Well, congratulation on your first buy, I mean this is already a good start so that you could start to accumulate Bitcoin, to be honest, this is already a good amount to start, It wasn't really about how much you bought since you could collect more in the future, most of the investors are going to recommend dollar cost average or maybe you could modify it a little bit so that it would fit your liking. It is indeed if investors happen to invest at a cheaper price of the cycle.  but if the investors invest on the peak, I do not know if we can consider Bitcoin to have a bigger return than traditional investment.  Right now those who invested at the peak of 2021 have a negative balance of more than 50%, I think it is also a bigger lose than the traditional investment in terms of the time frame.

Even the stock market, which is quite similar to cryptocurrencies, is completely different. Even though real estate is deemed a safe investment, due to the increasing demand for housing, whether for short-term or long-term leasing, it requires a large amount of capital that the majority of us can't afford. Thus, resorting to taking a loan is not only increasing the risk but also putting you in debt, which is dragging your investment many years behind.

I thought that was a normal thing to do for you to save more money and also at investing. I always do the 50 30 20 where I applied it in investing so when I invest in the main thing I want to invest which is Bitcoin probably it would be the 50% and the rest are some other investment such as altcoins. Couldn't have said it any better. This is what I do with my own finance. I divide everything according to the risk and how much possible profit I will get based on their own timeline. This way I know I will be able to still have money even if one investment doesn't work. This is a good planning and financing strategy. You just have to be smart in knowing and assessing which investment should you prioritize and which one you should avoid.

These are very smart suggestions. I strongly believe in cryptos but we always need to take into considerations that there are long bear markets and things don't always go as we hope they do, so I would never recommend to anybody to go all-in with cryptos. Buy also some ETFs, or even real estate if you can afford it. Maybe in 30 years we'll regret the fact that we should have invested more in cryptos but who knows, I prefer to be able to sleep at night now, not in 30 years.

Bitcoin's returns are bigger than all traditional investments and that's why we all choose bitcoin over other investments.  but the higher the return, the higher the risk, there is no asset that offers high returns that is safe. therefore, investing more in bitcoin will give you a better chance of getting a bigger profit, but don't forget that if you fail, the loss will also be bigger.  Bitcoin no matter how good is risky so only invest with money you can lose and don't affect your life.

Firstly, I did not say that the risks are the same. Real estate itself contains many different risks, there is a property that can only bring losses, if it is in a bad area and you cannot rent it out, it will definitely fall in value. And there is real estate that you can buy at the construction stage and sell when the facility is put into operation. There are a lot of options for investing in real estate, and it depends only on you whether you can earn in this direction, or lose money. Hello guys my curiosity has really gotten the best of me. I was so eager to get involved in the trending Bitcoin currency that is everywhere in my locality. Bitcoin is acceptable in so many small scale business around me in my locality, I mean I had to just ask what was this all about and finally I was introduced here and since my coming I have Learnt alot and still in the process of learning. But I came to understand few things here which gave me the courage to wanting to purchase Bitcoin and keep it so I can see some tangible profit when the price go up . Although the purchase is small but you won't blame me as it's a first timer situation and in addition to the fact that the funds are not available enough for me but I just want to let everyone know am also a Bitcoin holder now and willing to purchase more as bitcoin is also a financial gateway to freedom of saving fund.
