It all started as a joke, I was with a friend of mine discussing the marketcaps of cryptocurrency in our Paramount ruler palace, our discussion got to their ears and chief told me that he has heard of bitcoin changing lives and finances but is like lately the project wasn't doing great he guess. I say YES you're right and he said can you train the villagers, youths and women who will be interesting, I will pay you and I said that's fine sir.

So today we went to lay foundation of bitcoin and altcoin from our little ideas, we taught the basics important threads o terms of bitcoin like wallets, transactions, hash, price, buying and selling, keys and password, exchange rates and values. To my greatest amazement when are done chief was glad hearing youths ready to do something with their time than parading with villages with issues of cultism.

Is nice to learn with others it will give you hedges to learn more and prepared for further tasks. Chief actually show humility by fulfilling his promised of giving us $400 but we gladly turn it down because that's our community people, our home and our youths.

That's really a great project that you have taken in your hands. Knowledge is wisdom and sharing it will never let you go out of it, but will keep increasing while you'll also get revised of those terms every time you teach it to your village friends. It was also a nice gesture to let the money go and instead, help those villagers learn everything one by one as chapters about crypto. Helping others will also help you in some manner in near future and sometimes, when we are talking about something and it gets heard by the right person, you will get yourself taken higher from the level you are at present. Nicely done my man, I wish there was something I could do to help you guys advance in your lives, if I had a total of 1000 BTC I would have traveled there and would have spent at least 25 BTC to build the necessary infrastructures for your community.
I believe bitcoin whales should do this kind of stuff regularly especially old time miners, hodlers to spread the news and awareness and as well to show the other side of the coin, you know.

However I believe small amounts like 2000-3000$ could give you guys a head start, hopefully forum philanthropists stumble upon such topics.😉

Well done, you're doing something good, and I'm sure useful for your community! It's really cool that your boss has kept his word, and is open to what you're proposing.

 Even aside from the "BTC /crypto" aspect, educating people about the financial system and how it works is something priceless.
Those who take a close interest in bitcoin, have from my point of view, a better understanding of the system they are subjected to on a daily basis: inflation, basic concepts of supply and demand etc..

I hope you will continue to get together from time to time and discuss how Bitcoin really works, it could be of great benefit to your community.

Another question, are you thinking of continuing these lessons? Are you interested in how the Lightning Network works and its potential application in your community? Don't you think filming your meetings and brainstorming could be useful? It would allow other people to benefit from it, and for you to keep a record of it.

I can't imagine how hard is to teach or explain bitcoin in a place without electricity or without the internet. The project is awesome, every human in earth should know about bitcoin. But there are some basic needs that should be covered before all humans start using bitcoin, and that's Internet and Energy for all.

I wish I could help my local community just as you do, but sadly I live in a place where is better to be on a low profile because you can easily become a target.

That is truly terrific. I think some of the best ways to engage and continue to engage communities like yours are to get everyone set up on a site like Steemit together. Some place where everyone can post, interact, and learn about crypto further, but they can also earn crypto while doing it. When you can learn and earn, it's very easy to stay engaged.

Last time I checked sites like steemit don't easily give out accounts, because people look out to buying steemit accounts. Well if that's the case these villagers would need few weeks or months of intense bitcoin class to be able to write about bitcoin and earn too. I was thinking, if Op sets up a site or forum for the villagers don't know if that's what you suggest. The Chief can sponsor programmers to write scripts and launch a site where the villagers can learn at the comfort of their homes and interact with fellow village on issues regarding bitcoin. The site can rank on google within few years of consistency, which can as well help the villagers to make money from adverts and other deals and traffics from different people who are not from the village. Such project can yield long term profits for them and strong knowledge of bitcoin.

Investing in Bitcoin is one thing and learning the basics of economics is something else. Most of us need to learn how the economy works and then automatically can see the importance of Bitcoin, but it is a step in the right direction.

I'm involved with a cryptocurrency project (not a cryptocurrency), and I'm generating some revenue from that project. Though it's very small, I have taken one step to do something for the community. A part of our revenue is being stored for creating social awareness regarding bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Well we are very far from that since bitcoin is illegal here but for sure I'll do something with the fund. For now, we don't have a lot of plan but we will save it and spend when we will have opportunities.

I don't know where that is convenient for you to post this but i suggest you should take it to bitcoin discussion section here, i think you could get more engagement rather than the section you posted it. I understand what it takes teaching 1 person compared of 30 person and above is very stressful, my little suggestion is that whenever you are having such volume of people asked the village chief to provide a free hall for you guys and also rent or hire a projector were you could make it as a presentation prepared on Mspoint. This would lessen the stress on how you would have wasted more energy to speak.

Well, to the best of my knowledge I think Bitcoin is doing fine at the moment. It may have dipped from its ATH of $68k+ to $22k+ now but it's still in a nice place of profit for those who started hodling in 2020.

Remember this, yourself, your family, your relatives and friends always come first, if you have more than you need, just help those closest to you and then if there was more, look in the neighborhood. If all people in the world did this, we would have no poverty anymore. We are doing the opposite, for example my aunt lives in dubai, her son in laws are in car/ real estate/ oil company business, practically billionaires, once she told the richest of them that some one needs a little financial assist to start a new life, he told her: if someone doesn't have the money to start a career and get married, they should never think about it, why would I give them money?

While a single dinner night out cost them 3000$, they wouldn't bother to help a relative family member with a 50,000$.
So yeah, everyone should do that, while OP had never asked anything money related but anyone with a big pocket must support such communities, drop by drop we become an ocean, crypto needs such drops, because they are the most devoted and most motivated people that could become valuable assets in the future.

Great job OP, it's not easy teaching people about bitcoin, especially people that don't have basic internet skills. I don't know why you tuned down the chief selfless gift because it would have been used to empower some community members. $400 can buy up to 6 android phones in my country which would have assisted some of them to have access to bitcoin education.

Telling people about Bitcoin can be very risky in some nations that are going through security challenges and where they are high rates of poverty. People will generally think that you are very rich if they know you own bitcoin. Most of them don't know that bitcoin can be bought in bits, they think that you own one or more coins.

The indigenous people are the ones who have a hard time learning about Cryptocurrency, but with solar energy and available solar panels, and the determination of people like OP we can make a big difference in the life of these people, they want to help themselves and we can do this by educating them about Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency.
Compared to other people who already live in the city, the indigenous people are more eager to learn as long as it can help them improve their living conditions.
I hope here in our country we'll have the campaign to educate indigenous people.

I also commend the OP’s efforts in taking bitcoin education to the grassroot but I always see this kind of task being a hard one because some of these people have basic or no internet knowledge at. With this you have to grow the stress of getting them acquainted with the internet before proceeding to teaching them about cryptocurrency. With their low level of internet access they could easily get scammed through either phishing or other malicious means.
Another difficulty could be the access to network services which is key to cryptocurrency and some of these communities do not have access to it and going to a nearby community to get service could be stressful and discourages people about the whole idea.

The OP needs to show more resilient because this is one hard of a task.

Well done, you're doing it with a perfect cause and that's to make the youths and your neighbors there to be aware of what bitcoin is. It's good that you've been there so those people that might have known bitcoin the wrong way, they'll get to understand what really it is.
A seminar like this is desirable because it's not just teaching about bitcoin is an investment but also the other things that lies on it which you've said about wallets and being aware of their passwords and also the market. I'm sure that the villagers are happy to acquire new knowledge from you and the chief really sees that you're pure in doing this.

How I wish our community would do the same, not just some seminars with ulterior motives and some investment schemes. This only proves that there are still who believes that knowledge is free in this world. Although it contradicts the idea that learning a new skill or knowledge needs money, but sometimes there are also free stuffs you can learn.

Just for example, there are so many places in the world that doesn't have access to internet, so even if we say that you can learn new and free ideas online, how are they able to learn it if there is no internet? This is mostly the case on low economic countries like mine. Doing this kind of free seminars can also broaden the perspective of the community and also provide them financial education.

A friendly piece of advice, since you stuck a 'become independent trader' label on your second picture. Trading is not only a highly speculative endeavor, but also an actual profession that requires special education and experience at the very least. I don't know why it is often included in 'beginner Bitcoin courses' like what you are doing here, because that's like a whole different league of risk, required knowledge and required starting capital.

I really recommend skipping 'trading' completely at first, focusing on the fundamentals, technical basics, and building a local community. You may even be able to create a somewhat circular economy based completely on Bitcoin in your local community. That would allow you to become completely independent from the legacy financial system and fulfill Bitcoin's original goal.

Do make sure to go through the Bitcoin whitepaper, since it is just 9 pages long and a pretty easy read, while covering all the fundamentals.
