The supreme court on Friday nullified the ban by the central bank of Naija CBN on the use of the old #200, #500, and #1000 bank Notes as legal tenders. It was a great celebration in my area today for the pronouncement of the judgement because, some people still have old naira notes with them that made them to feel  this is the best opportunity for them to make use of them. Who will not be happy with this declaration, atleast now we'll have our cash with us and avoid all this bank wahala that's ongoing due to the poor Nigeria banking system. But I'm angry that the current government played Nigeria in this way. From the rumours I heard, I understand that this policy was targeted at Tinubu as Atiku is the person behind this lack of cash flow policy by the CBN. I heard Atiku vice was from the same region as the CBN governor and they tried to make money not available to tinubu for rigging of the election but guess their plans failed as he still successfully rigged it and has been declared the President elect.

When you reason this rumours and see how the supreme court running came immediately after the presidential election you go begin see some point for the matter. You do understand that No be CBN reversed the matter, it was the supreme court verdict, however, who knows how these politicians they take our head play. The same person that was alleged to be the bain of the whole money saga eventually turned out to be the winner of the election, at least for the main time   until he is sown in, but I believe it was good news overall that was get to continue to spend the rest of the denominations.

One of the major reasons of the naira redesign was to checkmate electoral fraud but since this could not be achieved in the just concluded presidential election, I see no reason subjecting the citizens to more hardship for a fruitless course. But what's CBN position on the supreme's order? Would they comply? Would the old notes be released for use by commercial bank? Because they are with 90% of the old naira notes.

When I been first here about the supreme court’s judgement say make them return the use of the old naira note up till 31st of December this year, I was really glad because the situation of no availability of cash has really been a disaster.

But my fear here is that the country has shown no respect for the supreme court’s decision on different occasions and I am thinking they may also do so this time around.

I know too well that there must be way out because I can't just believe CBN governor to just sweep all old notes within the period of 1 to 2 months without considering the total number of her citizens. Putting it into consideration we are about +200m did he think is only 200m plus are just in circulation?

Buhari and Tinibu are both APC members, I think as a Muslim Buhari will be more open to Muslim-Muslim ticket because it supposedly favors the north. Despite the information circulated in the media, I do not believe the President made any decision to negatively affect Tinibu’s campaign. Me i no believe this one, na true say Ifeanyi Okowa and Godwin Emefiele are both from Delta state and from the same South-South region, but which power wey Ifeanyi Okowa and Atiku get to influence the CBN governor on this policy of hardship, even if we agree say na Okowa and Atiku influence Emefiele make e do this thing, who come influence Buhari? Because as president and Commander-in- Chief, na him get the final say on matters like this, without his approval CBN cannot commence with this useless policy. But Buhari approved of the policy, and even when APC governors were pleading with him to do something, baba kept mute and only agreed to make old 200 naira note legal tender again, the whole matter they confusing sev.

I was happy and still am upon hearing this news, but am yet to spend the old 500naira notes still in my wallet from before, because in my area, no one wants to collect it yet.
If you ask me what they are waiting for, I wouldn't know. No one has agreed to spend it yet.
The CBN has to in agreement with President Buhari, make it openly okay to the general public to accept the old notes.
 I however doubt pride would let this our big ogas admit their error in their financial policy lately and be apologetic toward the plight of the average Nigerian.

I am not happy or sad about anything. I am just tired of the country. There is nothing Supreme about the supreme court because their ruling keeps getting flouted and ignored by the people in power. I bet you that by December 31, 2025 both the new currency and old currency would still be in circulation because the court would have forgotten about their ruling. You would think they have the people and the economy of the nation at heart with the whole speech by the CBN governor and president, but when you look deeply you would see that it is a case of political witch-hunting

To dey happy about this mata no be the issue oh, the main palava now be say for your area people dey gree to accept the old note despite this supreme court ruling bcos this mata dey bring serious confrontation between persons Dem for my area lik dis. The people dey say president and CBN govnor Neva talk so Dem no go colet others they say Dem must colet becos supreme court don rule say de currency old note denominations dey valid as legal tender.
All of these contradictions between the tow institutions of the government just de cos untold hardship for the ordinary man inside de country. So how happy person wan com dey about this mata, cos it be lik combination of happy-sad at same time.
