The news wey I d receive be sae the governor of Lagos state Sanwo-Olu don follow em oga on top wey be Tinubu to approve cryptocurrency for youths in few days to election.
Quote
Despite the indefinite ban placed on cryptocurrency commercial trading by the Buhari regime and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is enticing youths in the state by floating the idea of cryptocurrency approval as he embarks on missions to canvass votes in a bid for re-election.

Wetin I wan ask be sae for all this things wey our politicians the do? Why em d be sae when em reach for election, politicians go begin to d act good, d implement wetin d no implement at the early stage of their office? No be ojoro be that?

But you look this one na unlike the unrealistic promises wey our politicians dey promise ua and dem no dey fulfil am, you think say this one gi be one of them when the only thing dem go do to make the policy dey very effective na just to dey friends to blockchain technology. Immediately dem dey, boys go carry am firm there. When I see things like then I dey understand why Buhari and Tinubu no work because dem get different reasonings. Shall all this go still fit just be politics but I hope e no be and dem finally pass the law wey go encourage blockchain developed as e no go only create new jobs opportunity but also give man daily bread.

Meanwhile wetin other aspirate they talk about blockchain adoption abi dem no dey reason us wey dey this side of the hustle abi dem dey consider us minority and we no fit give them vote to enter office, Wetin other presidential aspirate be talk concerning blockchain. Una know say Buhari government follow for why many citizens never get the message as if blockchain been dey welcome na so so seminars we for they see and e for fit help some people start life through investing, trading, mining etc as depending solely on the government no fit solve Nigeria problem, we too plenty.

The man has really won the heart of the youths with this Blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies in Nigeria, but with his old age, can him be able to fulfill all those promises him made during the campaign because, I saw all those words like something that has ended after the INEC has declared Bola Tinubu president elect in Nigeria. Even though, the man is willing to do it for the growth of the youths, I don't think the cambers in the Aso Rock  will allow him to make it legal because, they will feel it will affect their corruptions business in Nigeria.

Leaving old age out of this, if a leader wants to work for its country, age is not a barrier to what he/she can achieve for the country. Since he mentioned about blockchain technology during campaign and also after emerging winner, let’s be optimistic he’ll put that into his top consideration when he’s been sweared in as the president of Nigeria.

And I also hope and pray the so called cabal in those Aso Rock does not limit him to certain things that will make life better for the average Nigerians and youths in the country. Although I have a believe the recent cabals in the Aso Rock will be flushed out and new ones will take over, let’s hope they do the needful of them.

I think this will likely hold base on this article Andy Umana is improving the real estate experience with the blockchain. It's about an interview with Andy Umana, the founder and head growth of Relsify, a fractional real estate platform that uses Blockchain technology to allow people, jointly fund and own part of properties. Here is a part of the article that speaks of the possibility of this:
Quote
We are building a highly-regulated product; we have to work with the government of the day. One of the challenges that we face—and why we’ve not broken into the market with full strength from day one—is that we have had to wait and talk to the SEC in Nigeria to secure a provisional licence for us to carry out what we’re trying to do. Despite numerous challenges, we were able to follow up until they recently crafted one that suits us. But now we await approvals to pull it through. They are telling us that they are waiting for the new government to come through before they [the SEC] start issuing this licence, because they want to understand [the new government’s tone and approach to policy first].

Dis mater dey tire person oo. If Tinubu want use di E-naira effective make im just add bitcoin inside di app which can be convert bitcoin to naira and naira to bitcoin without any extra fees and you go see sae plenty piple and many of us go use am. I just Nigeria I know before to come back again and I no no wether that go dey possible again.
My problem with their speech no bi di tok tok but di action. And no be to accept bitcoin in in di banking system, nothing concern me with bank. Make im adopt bitcoin as a legal tender which will be use in all ramifications of di economy both producers, wholesalers, retailers and the final consumers. Nai go make di accept more reliable and make sense.

If Tinubu according to his statement confirmed they would train youths on the use of blockchain technology, does it also mean he would incorporate it as a legal tender along side the Naira?
Will they also allow it be a decentralized platform as it is and not force agencies on it to monitor accounts and transactions?
Moreso, will they fund those without funds to invest in cryptocurrency until they can payback or afford to handle the Blockchain investment themselves?

We don see many talk from these politicians gone awry. They just say what would be of interest to the youths and expect them to vote them in, knowing fully well that once they set foot in Aso rock, no one can tell them nonsense or even force them to fulfil their campaign pledge.
Until we see progress made and effort put in this regard, I won't take anything said during the campaign seriously.

Quote
President-Elect Bola Tinubu mentioned in his manifesto that he has plans aimed at encouraging the use of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies in Nigeria's finance and banking sector. The policy is intended to promote the prudent use of these technologies to improve identity management, revenue collection, and the use of crypto assets As part of the policy, the government will establish an advisory committee to review the existing regulatory environment governing blockchain technology and virtual asset services. The committee will be tasked with suggesting changes to create a more efficient and business-friendly regulatory framework, where necessary. The government hopes that this will help to attract more investment in the sector and stimulate economic growth. Additionally, the government plans to encourage the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to expand the use of the country's digital currency, the E-Naira. This move is part of a broader effort to promote financial inclusion and create a more accessible and efficient payment system in the country. He also believes that the policy will help to position the country as a leader in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry, creating new opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs in the sector.

See excerpts "We will reform government policy to encourage the prudent use of blockchain technology in finance and banking, identity management, revenue collection, and the use of crypto assets. As part of our reforms, we will establish an advisory committee to review the existing regulatory environment governing blockchain technology and virtual asset services and, where necessary, suggest changes create a more efficient and business-friendly regulatory framework. We will also encourage the CBN to expand the use of our digital currency, the Enaira."

What this means:

The policy of encouraging the adoption of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, as outlined in the excerpt, is related to the new Nigerian regulation on digital assets, which was introduced by the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in 2021. The new regulation provides a framework for the regulation of digital assets, including cryptocurrencies and
other digital tokens, in Nigeria. The regulation requires digital assets to be registered with the SEC and mandates that all digital asset offerings and investments must comply with SEC regulations.

The manifesto suggests a review of the existing SEC regulation on digital assets will be conducted with a view to making it more business-friendly.
For more details read; https://nairametrics.com/2023/03/03/tinubus-plan-for-blockchain-and-enaira-is-appealing-despite-lacking-details/

Una sorry for the lengthy thread but I been wan put as much details as possible so discussion go flow properly. So from my understanding this na wetin Tinubu talk for him acceptance speech as INEC been declare am President elect but I guess none of us hear am as we no watch the acceptance speech due to the fact he wasn't majority of us candidate. Make we leave the election matters aside and try discuss wetin him talk here. You feel say this na another bobo juice talk or tinubu truely mean am say him administration go look positive towards Bitcoin and cryptocurency in general?

Bare in mind say tinubu been dun talk this thing before when him dey campaign, you fit read am here Tinubu to youths: We will encourage use of blockchain technology in crypto assets so from wetin you think, you feel him government go dey friendly assuming he stays as our president or you feel this na another bobo juice talk to appeal the youths and nothing come out?

I believe say na matter of interest, if em feel say im government go benefit from blockhain businesses, why not, em go implement am. Even if I no be Tinubu supporter, but I know say em get plenty experience for politics and em dey very intelligent. So if em reason , say bitcoin and cryptocurrency business go favour em government, nobody go fit to stop am, based on say him na very powerful politician. But the problem be say we no trust our politicians, dem fit talk anything to get people to support dem government.

But if im implement am, I go dey very happy, based on say na business wey I want to enter. Bitcoin business go encourage more people to enter crypto businesses, and e go reduce unemployment for our country.

Abeg I want to ask my senior members, why dem ban bitcoin for Nigeria, in the first place?

My broda I can understand your reasons to be so specific on your take with government promises, but like there is a saying we can't actually judge a book by its cover, I know it's quite clear that he rigged the election but that does not mean he won't work to his best although our previous government have all failed when its comes to administrative works during their time in the seat as president but the cause of these problems shouldn't only be blamed on the number citizen of the country because to say the truth today we Nigerians and I mean all of us are the problem of this great country, we tend to divide the country through religious problem and blame it all in one person when actually everyone has a fair share of the cause.

I cannot doubt the possibilities to this because the blockchain technology is already going wide across the nooks and crannies of the entire world and both government and organisations were all in support of this development, as for the new government regime about to emerge in the country Nigeria, we can see that possibilities that the new emerge president is giving the youth more areas of concentration for his administration to tackle the most challenging factors that can mitigate youths from partaking from the advanced technology of blockchain and possibly being extended to bitcoin if the president elect sees this an an additional efforts to carry the youth along.

Nigeria really need for the government to push for the adoption of blockchain technology, even though dem no gree accept Bitcoin but atleast make dem no dey discourage blockchain technology developments for the country because boys need am to work and I mean legit work oh no be street something. Alot of job opportunity dey this side and if government put some effort dem fit help bring about the next generation of blockchain millionaire from the country because we plenty wey dey learn how this side go help us get daily bread. Government dem self supposed dey reason say this sector so dem never show am love yet see as e dun grow for the country.

Now make dem just imagine how e go be if dem show the sector small love, like empower youths dem so dem go learn well and get small funding center to they help new start ups. Tinubu enter office today, if him wan fail for any promises wey him talk, make him no fail for this one because person fit craze, I dey expect am to lift both the bans on Bitcoin and cryptocurency in general. Make dem no make the country toxic to all this blockchain project instead make dem welcome dem so dem fit based here and when dem based here, na better job creation dem dey bring so and boys go fit commot streets come work legit work wey go fit pay them welle.

He met with the outgoing CBN Governor today at the villa; as we all know, Tinubu was not a big supporter of the E-naira, cashless policy, and Naira redesign projects; hopefully, the next Governor is not someone who believes bitcoin was created out of thin air, as the current CBN does. The lifting of the ban on crypto transactions will not happen immediately since there are more pressing concerns with the CNB and banking industry that must be addressed first. If I were you, I would lower my expectations on crypto ban lift..

I lack interest in the recent decision by the country to lift the ban on cryptocurrency. Currently, most transactions are smoothly conducted through peer-to-peer (P2P) methods, and I fear that removing the ban will subject traders to stringent regulations imposed by exchanges. This may have adverse effects on P2P transactions, leading to increased transaction fees and heightened monitoring of traders' activities. Furthermore, the implications of the Central Bank of Nigeria's (CBN) decision are not being adequately discussed. It raises concerns about the fate of traders under a government that has been making questionable decisions in recent times.
