Good evening dear Bitcoin community Smiley
I need your help because I can't get any further with my setup at the moment.

For Bitcoin I use Electrum + EPS as Watch Only Address and the whole thing is signed on a PC without any connection to the outside world.

Can the whole thing also be done for USDC / USDT?
Are there also reputable and secure desktop wallets for USDC / USDT that can be set up as a watch only address and can be signed on the PC where there is no internet connection?

A big thank you that there is such a great community like you.

As for an ERC20-based wallet that can be handled on a PC when there is no internet connection, I don't know whether it exists or not. But you can try a number of ERC20 wallet models which are still very safe to use and from several sources I have seen, it turns out that Atomic Wallet is in first place for you to try before you try some of the others. Because in Atomic Wallet you can download the wallet you want and it's available for desktop too.

I will share some of these resources here so that you can immediately access them and hopefully this can help your work which may be pending preparation at this time.

You can add a Watch-only wallet with Myetherwallet.
https://help.myetherwallet.com/en/articles/6473348-adding-a-watch-only-account-using-mew-wallet

I don't know Metamask, Trust wallet supports that Watch-only feature.

Basically with Watch-only wallet, you only import its public address and without private key, you can not sign any transaction.

From what I have seen, it is doable. OP just need to do some extra steps to make it work.

Although I have never signed a transaction in an offline computer, myetherwallet has a nice tutorial article for downloading the MEW website offline and be able to send and sign a specific transaction on your airgapped device.

Can't provide any more information about the nitty gritty of the process though.

You asked a bunch of questions in last few days and you talked about hardware wallets, so you can use them for this purpose as watch only wallet.
Trezor Suite can work without Trezor hardware wallet if you only want to use it for watching balance of your coins, but you will need to connect your device if you want to make transaction.
I am not sure if this is possible for ledger live, but I don't recommend this wallet anyway.

I'm a little confused and it's not exactly clear to me what exactly you want to get. how do you even think that you can get precise information about funds at an address without an internet connection?
you don't need a specific wallet to be able to watch an address, but if you want to see all the changes, you can't get that offline. For example, if you think about ERC20, it is enough to register on etherscan.io and enter the address or several addresses you want to track. from there you will receive a report on every change via email or telegram.

There are also very good Telegram bots that will monitor changes in addresses and make it easier for you to follow them, regardless of the type of wallet or whether they are your addresses at all.

I am not sure if this is possible for ledger live, but I don't recommend this wallet anyway.
I will use hardware wallets for my daily use, but I want to keep my coins, which I will hodl and almost never touch, even more securely.

I think if I create 2 Electrum wallets
1= watch only on computer 1 with Internet
1= for signing on a computer without internet it would be safer than any hardware wallet.
Because so far I haven't found a hardware wallet that I can trust 100% and creating a MultiSig wallet with several HWW would just be a security risk and also difficult to implement when I think about inheriting my coins somehow when I'm no longer on the world

That's why I'm converting my computer into a hardware wallet where I can be 100% sure that nothing strange is running in the background.
For me it would be the only system that I can trust 100%.

I would like to turn my computer into a hardware wallet.

For my setup I use 2 computers.
1 with Internet connection where Electrum acts as Watch Only Address.
1 computer without internet connection and encrypted.
The Electrum Wallet is used on this computer to sign payments offline.

Scenario:
I'm making a payment using my Watch Only Address.
Extract the transaction and add it to my 2nd computer to sign the transaction.
After that I add the signed transaction back to the 1st computer and the payment goes out.

The whole thing works wonderfully with Electrum but unfortunately only for Bitcoin.
That's why I'm now looking for a wallet with which exactly the same can be achieved to secure my USDC / USDT in the same way.

One option for a secure desktop wallet for USDC/USDT is Ledger Live, which supports multiple cryptocurrencies including USDC and USDT. You can set up a watch-only address and sign transactions offline using a Ledger hardware wallet. Another option is Exodus, which is a desktop wallet that also supports USDC and USDT and can be used in a similar way.

You can link your ERC20 address to your etherscan account for tracking purposes only, and of course that without importing the privatekey either. Etherscan also allows users to sign messages offline by first connecting to the metamask. I've done a small test and it worked.
This process used offline mode since I clicked "sign message"

Unfortunately, MEW does not have a desktop version, I still have to check TrustWallet.
MEW has got former teammates that built their wallet too and that's MyCrypto. They've made an article about it but I haven't used them for a long time but maybe this will help.

So basically you're looking to set up offline transactions signing capability with Ethereum. There are several options if you look around the internet, some of them are:
- https://support.mycrypto.com/how-to/sending/how-to-make-an-offline-transaction/
- https://help.myetherwallet.com/en/articles/6512619-using-mew-offline-current-mew-version-6 (already mentioned above)

There is also Parity Signer for Polkadot but it is out of date and has a lot of issues according to recent reviews on Play Store. Most of these are developed for mobile devices so if you want to exclusively use your computers, I guess you need to run an emulator to do it. If that's a no-go for you, then you can use your phone for the online device while you run an emulator on your computer. Use the Android Studio app to run the app if you don't want to risk using a third-party emulator that is mainly developed for gaming such as Bluestack, etc. If that is still not good enough for you, I guess you're limited to MEW, AirGap, or MyCrypto for offline signing.

Don't forget to do your own research. I personally use MEW and MyCrypto in the past but have no experience with the other two I linked above.

Thanks, friends.

After days of research, I came to the conclusion that ERC20 tokens cannot be secured like Bitcoin.
I also wrote to some wallet providers like Atomic TrustWallet Exodus MEW MyCrypto and Guarda and many of my plans were not possible, and 2 only was possible to a limited extent with ETH but not with USDC / USDT.

I will secure my altcoins via hardware wallet until finally a provider has come up with the smart idea of a function for AirGrap + MultiSig + hardware wallet connection.

Thanks again for your help Smiley
