Yesterday I received an email saying that all my files images and other information's are being controlled or see what I'm doing, some would react and be paranoid that their files were gone, he told me that he gain access to my router, and installed an exploit or a rootkit.
When receiving emails like this always be calm and collect yourself before reacting, all of his/her statement were false, because I'm using a firewall, which blocking incoming connection from unknown or deny and will alert me, he also is trying to ask for a bitcoin payment, but for every newbies or with little knowledge on how to protect your computer, or devices, never click popups, links, and open adult content site on your computer and mobiles devices specially if you are doing trading, online banking or anything that will, allow hackers to infiltrate's your network, hackers and scammers will do anything to get what they want, in some cases some people got their pc infected and encrypted all their file while hackers asking for ransom, so be careful opening files, or emails, from unknown people or even from an infected pc, if its suspicious never open or click anything, besides if you ever transact with them you are not sure if they will comply

I never open email from strangers especially if that email is filter automatically into Spam folder.

Prevention is better than cure and I want to prioritize for prevention first. It is better than clicking on strange email, then curiously click on strange links and hope that your computer won't be infected with hazardous elements from hackers. It is unrealistic and risky to believe that Internet Security software or Antivirus software will be able to protect you against those threats completely.

Your habit when using Internet is more important than any AV software.

Hackers don't just hijack your computer like that, you are the one that did something stupid, either by clicking on links sent through email or websites.

I do a lot of browsing almost all day, and this is why I believe that I am still not completely safe from scammers and hackers, not even with anti-malware software and antivirus installed on my PC.

This is why I don't store my assets on my PC, I don't have any wallet installed on my PC, and even my files are stored offline.  With a PC, you can never be sure of what could happen at any time,  it doesn't matter how careful you are.

Thank you @Op for this wonderful advice you gave in a clear and simple manner for people to understand, you will make a good teacher. Last time I got a link from an inlaw that came back from another country and I Immediately clicked the link. I thought since it came from him and because he is coming from a developed nation, it was safe, I later discovered that they were scammers. It is not good to click on popups whether you are trading or not because scammers are everywhere. Don't click on any link regardless of how close a person is to you, his account might have been hacked. Like OP said we should calm down and act slow when we receive these popups.

You made me laugh. How can you be sure which country scammers are from? They can tell you thousands of fairy tales to win your trust. In addition, people are the same everywhere. Everywhere, in both developed and developing countries, scammers seek to deceive. Think: who knows your email address? Create complex logins for mail so that it is difficult to parse them.

The creation of several emails is not a problem for those who like to subscribe everywhere, someday dreaming of getting a good offer. While people themselves value this hope, not to mention the fact that some gullible people click on the sentences sent from scammers, the threat of hacking and theft of data will hang over them all the time.
But if a person knows that no one can write to him, he will never fall into the trap of hackers.

It was probably a false claim since it's not that easy to get access to someone's desktop or files, I mean you know to yourself that you didn't do anything wrong or do something that is going to allow someone to probably get that access you should probably be fine and just ignore that email. I mean it is easy to get your email and send this kind of message to you, at the first place they will probably send proof if they actually have that since their goal was to get the ransom money for your files.

Your first line of defense against unsolicited messages is protecting your personal contact information  If scammers cannot reach you, you would not have to deal with their scam attempts at all.

I agree, I mean just think before putting your information to any websites that you don't really know, It wasn't really that easy so hackers make way to get your information and when they do that's where they start to try to get access to your computer when you do open some of the fishy links and put your sensitive information there.

Also received a similar mail years back.
Where the sender claim to have control over both my mail and private pictures and requested I pay a fee of about 100$ or so if not all my pictures and private information will be posted on my social medial account's. To some point I was some how scared which I made a quick move by changing my mail and other social account password. But I totally ignored the mail and didn't reply it. The mail keeps on coming in even as I have reported and moved it to my spam box.  till the sender gots tired and decided to stop.

I got that email also before and I understood quickly that it was like an extortion email. Those that have been said is just like a script that they send to the emails that they've got in their database. Because it's not just one or two emails that I've received with exactly the same content for those emails so, I already got what it is all about. They scare the hell you out that they've got everything but don't believe it and don't click any linking sites that they've got at the end of their message because when you do then that's going to be the start of the disaster. Thanks for reminding us about this type of scam.

I don't open any message received in my email account from unknow and usually seems malware due kindness sending form, usually they sent with picture and several link but I am not excited for opening from unknow sender and seems not official. Better don't open up any email message receiving from unknow sender. If your email have been popular with many kinds malware sent every day, better change your email and use another email more private without use for anything from joined airdrop until registering on several site.

Its seems terrible after your email become popular and sending many kinds of malware every day, I worry when your children or your wife open it without understand well about malware file seems most terrible.

It all start from a click. Yes whatever that is sent to an email or pop-up on your phone, your would be asked to click a link that will be sent to you, so avoid clicking to be safe from the aftermath.

My simple advise is if you are not expecting any message from anyone then don't click. I think the people who go on clicking on link they are not expecting are greedy, they get attracted by the promises on what is flashed to them.

The most important thing is awareness and knowledge of how hackers work and in case there is a breach you should know what to do and how to proceed don't be too comfortable that your anti-virus and anti-malware will take care of everything.
Your action, while you are online, will have an effect on your safety, Cryptocurrency investors should level up their security and awareness because they are the most targeted by hackers.

Its good OP brought this to the public notice because alot of people fall for such tricks I believe it will help lots of people especially newbies who are not knowledgeable enough. To survive this Cryto world and not fall for scams one needs to be knowledgeable not just about how to make profits and prosper but also how to avoid being scammed, we need to be vigilant and avoid clicking random links.

Your first line of defense against unsolicited messages is protecting your personal contact information  If scammers cannot reach you, you would not have to deal with their scam attempts at all.

• Do not register on random websites using your email address
• Use a throw away address which would only be used once for random sites,
• Limit your social platforms to those that do not store user information,
• Do not sign up for random airdrops.
Never use your email to register on every website you come across always verify the legitimacy of the website first. If you are unsure of the legitimacy of the website, it is safer to use an alternative email.
The first step to avoid being a scam target is to make sure that scammers cannot contact you if they do not have access to your personal information.

Lesson need to learn from this is never share your private email to public to avoid such thing which can cause big stress to us. But if happens that same situation came the same what OP mention and what you stated better ignore it especially if they can't show something to back up their claims. Maybe take a action if there's harmful elements release and this is the time where you need to go to proper authority to file necessary action.

Yesterday I received an email saying that all my files images and other information's are being controlled or see what I'm doing, some would react and be paranoid that their files were gone, he told me that he gain access to my router, and installed an exploit or a rootkit.
When receiving emails like this always be calm and collect yourself before reacting

Absolutely agree with you.

This is exactly what I wanted to say, that it is best not to open or read letters from a dubious addressee or simply unfamiliar senders. Prevention, not cure, rules.

Also, you don't need to indicate your only mailing address everywhere. It makes more sense to have several and use each to perform certain tasks: 1 - to communicate with family and friends, 2 - for work, 3 - for other tasks (for example, online shopping and registering in social networks), and so on. Thus, you can weed out the extra flow of spam and secure yourself.

Better yet, have a separate PC to work with crypto and for entertainment and everyday tasks. It is not necessary to buy a powerful PC and it is possible to assemble a PC from old hardware to interact only with crypto.

Regarding the letter that OP writes about: you need to be more prudent and not succumb to emotions when you see similar letters or messages. All malefactors try to manipulate on it.

Never use your email to register on every website you come across always verify the legitimacy of the website first. If you are unsure of the legitimacy of the website, it is safer to use an alternative email.
The first step to avoid being a scam target is to make sure that scammers cannot contact you if they do not have access to your personal information.
I would like to add this:
- Never use the same password & email for crypto exchanges and signing up for other websites.
- Avoid clicking links from unknown sources.
- Do not try to sell/transfer tokens in your wallet you don't know how it came about.

... never click popups, links, and open adult content site on your computer and mobiles devices specially if you are doing trading, online banking or anything that will, allow hackers to infiltrate's your network, hackers and scammers will do anything to get what they want
In addition to your habits online, you also need to be cautious about your habits offline too. Keeping you PC safe offline (when not on the internet) is as important as your online habits. The people who we call scammers and hackers are not imaginary people from other planets, they are humans, and people around us, and unfortunately because of the habit of easily trusting people, we take in some of these people as friends without even truly knowing who they are, what they are capable of, and what intentions they may have for us. Avoid letting other people use your PC where you carry out your crypto activity, Do not let people plug in flash drives and USB devices to your PC without your notice and you vetting it, do not give someone else your PC to keep safe for you.

Damn, you should have messed with them a little since you opened and read the email anyway. Ask the scammers to unlock and return your private collection of overweight shemale videos. Tell them it's a sign of good faith, and if they do, you will pay for the return of the rest of the hacked content.

but for every newbies or with little knowledge on how to protect your computer, or devices, never click popups, links, and open adult content site on your computer and mobiles devices specially if you are doing trading, online banking or anything that will, allow hackers to infiltrate's your network
Separate your devices if you can afford it. Use one for your financials only, and whatever has to do with any form of money. Use a second one for work and your private correspondence. Finally, the third one could be for more riskier stuff like torrents, XXX, dubious software, airdrops, and whatever else you are interested in.

You can have separate Google accounts and emails on those devices.

When receiving emails like this always be calm and collect yourself before reacting, all of his/her statement were false, because I'm using a firewall, which blocking incoming connection from unknown or deny and will alert me, he also is trying to ask for a bitcoin payment, but for every newbies or with little knowledge on how to protect your computer, or devices, never click popups, links, and open adult content site on your computer and mobiles devices specially if you are doing trading, online banking or anything that will, allow hackers to infiltrate's your network, hackers and scammers will do anything to get what they want, in some cases some people got their pc infected and encrypted all their file while hackers asking for ransom, so be careful opening files, or emails, from unknown people or even from an infected pc, if its suspicious never open or click anything, besides if you ever transact with them you are not sure if they will comply
all this kind of messages or emails are just the work and influence of scammers to falsely lead and convince any one who they are targeting, so let's be cautious and careful of any popup Ads from our phones or system and let's stop accessing or entering links that is being sent to us by unauthorized and unknown persons or servers...
