If the OP could pull it off as per the title of this thread, and have a decent job that pays well worth it. then do it, at least it's better than you wasting it. let's reflect for a moment, around us, there are many people who are not well off. even to meet their standard of living, they have to look for additional work. since post-covid, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, its impact on the economy has been felt in all sectors. it's hard to find a job, even if there is one, the salary we get is below the minimum wage.
In other parts of the world, there are still many hungry people. don't save, just to get food today, it's very difficult for those who are lacking. so, share those of you who still have decent jobs.

You'll missed your child getting bigger which is true because of we keep chasing the money we forgot to have time in our family but again we do the hardwork for our family we work hard just to make their life comfortable even we keep sacrificing our time for them. Even my self if i do have a high salary right now i prefer to be with my family but the opportunity is not possible because i need to do a side hustle just to give them what they want but even i work hard it is still not enough. We really need to sacrifice things even we dont want to as we prefer struggling than they are struggling

For me, saving is important and imperative, although I don't have a goal for that, but in life, there are always surprises that we can't anticipate, it will help us in that case.  Currently, my income is quite stable compared to the average income in my country. But I never thought that I would stop saving because I have a better income than others. As you said, there will come a time when we, too, have to choose between making less money and spending time on other things. Because life is very short, but there are many things to take care of, not just work or money.

When our finances are stable and have consistent income, sometimes we really forget to take advantage of this situation to save more. I think it's not that simple as that. Being occupied by work all the time, making money so that your kid "won't be struggling", while he/she is growing up without you around, it's not good. You have to find a "life-work balance", as @FireDAOJackie_Z says. It's not easy to do, but it's very important to not ignore lest you end up with spoiled rich kid in the end.

What happened to your friend is a result of inflation in your country. You have a good heart to help your friend as you can. That is the right thing to do save some money while you can because we may never know what the future will bring. The job the we have right now is not permanent so therefore save while we still can. It is hard if the source of income that we have will be cut off, it will really affect our family's daily needs. Parents are always children’s “heroes” and if we do nothing positive in life, they will be more likely to be less disciplined and live a miserable life. Nowadays kids are way easy to be spoiled and we, as parents, should both provide a good financial support, more time with kids, and draw a line not to spoil them for the sake of their healthy growth. Well I agree with this. Because saving when we have a stable income is the most appropriate thing and must be done consistently. We must learn from the cases of the Pandemic that befell us some time ago. At that time people who do not have savings are the most suffering. because during a pandemic our activities were limited. many even take time off from work. the point is that income during a pandemic has dropped dramatically. but for those who have savings such as an emergency fund, even when a pandemic comes they can remain calm because they have prepared well. The quicker you believe that it's not the end for you the faster you will get out of your bad situation, when life challenges comes into peoples life they sometimes feel unmotivated and they just give up, as long as you are still breathing do not believe that you can't bring changes into your life again, regrets, pain and fear are bad for a living soul, if you are trapped in one you have to break through.

Saving money should be a necessity for anyone because of eventualities like accident, lose of job, old age, children education, the list is endless. Every body loves to save but problems arises when your income can not even take care of your miscellaneous expenses. What do you do? You must find a side business or investment, by all means. Otherwise depending on one source of income becomes a risk. Because what ever happens to that business is one way ticket to poverty.

Saving for a reason should be a necessity and that reason should be for investing. If the inflation in your country is not high then the country's economy would have been normal. Every country is control by the national resources and national resources are from the national economy, so why things are still difficult for the citizens. If the price of goods and services are in the increasing side then the inflation in the country is also very high. The inflation of a country determine the prices of things.
