Never put all your eggs in one basket. You have practiced this well. I like your 5:5 Btc/Alt ratio because it looks safer than solely investing in one coin. Despite the fact that investing in Altcoins is too risky, especially for new projects but can't deny that it was even more profitable than Bitcoin (based on my experienced). You'll somehow be thinking about what hyped projects can do for the investors, 1000x profit is quite possible if they got lucky which we can't get from Bitcoin or even ETH. Might be thinking that altcoins are just following the trend of BTC price but people still have the guts to invest in them because of such profit views which are more interesting.

Altcoins are like lottery tickets honestly. I've got little success with investing in altcoins if it's all about those tremendous gains from different altcoins. I've got some alts but they're the popular ones like ETH and that's where I can say that I've got a good time.

But for those altcoins and those investors that have been gaining a lot from their investments through it and got tremendous gains. It's either they've been lucky just like the others or they're dedicated into the search for those type of projects.

And another drawback on it is how much they've lost first before getting into those successful altcoin picks.

I myself tend to choose Altcoin investments over Bitcoin, in my opinion investing in altcoins as an opportunity to increase the number of other altcoins at low prices. by investing in altcoins I think the return is also faster if the investment is small.
but there is one thing that makes me worried about investing in Altcoins, namely my fear that if I choose the wrong Altcoin, and of course the altcoin will disappear in the market or the price will continue to decline. this is a fear that sometimes becomes an obstacle for me

Most of these investors you're talking about are making the most common mistake among crypto investors. They buy altcoins when they start to rise, the same is true for bitcoin investors. Surprisingly, people bypass cheap coins and happily pay attention to coins that have become more expensive than they were yesterday. It's some kind of crypto paradox, no other way around it. Any investor should buy when things are down, when prices are in the red zone, and sell when things are up. But many investors, for some reason, do exactly the opposite.

It's a known fact in crypto that Bitcoin is the best crypto currency to hold in a bear market, because most altcoins won't have the ability to survive the pressure of the news and sell off that could happen, so Bitcoin is the most trusted one during this period. These days, the price of Bitcoin has taken good action by crossing the 200 WMA. Let us see if it can sustain this rise, so that could mark the beginning of another bull market, although that's mostly excluded in this period.
Another reason that holds me back from investing in some altcoins is the uncertainty  about the future of some sort of altcoins. Some news talked about the terminating of POS coins, even ETH was mentioned in some pieces of news. Therefore, I prefer to wait until the start of the next bull to have a clearer picture of the regulations and the future of these altcoins.

Basically, each person will have their own story about understanding the market. I don't like what's too original to the framework, it's better to adapt to the present and don't be disappointed.
With this market it has provided so many life changing opportunities so I am very grateful and appreciative of that. The humility of many super rich people, and also the exposure of the lie about reputation . All in all, a great environment that I find more valuable than the old school lessons.

You have good points though, investing with altcoin is kind of confusing these days. They are trying to create something in different industries. Finance, banking, AI, gaming, and more. I think what's best is to find that one project that you could easily understand. Agreed. Analyzing the market well is key to perfect timing. Actually, knowing the perfect timing is not enough because having the courage and capital to invest is what brings timing to fruitful outcome. I've seen many people who could analyze the market systematically end up in nowhere because they lack the decisiveness to invest and the enough capital to invest with. At last, they just complained about the bad luck and proved to other people that what they predicted was right. To them, nothing was gained.

Nothing holds me back from investing in altcoin. In fact, if it will count for anything, I've more invested cash in alts than I've in Bitcoin. Those who are staying away from alts do so because they're adverse to risk. Investments in alts are riskier than that in Bitcoin.
