With Bitcoin, you won't have to wait 5 or 7 years. It has a halving cycle that appears every four year. The last halving happened in 2020 and now we are in 2023, one more year till its next halving. I don't think you have to wait more than 2 more years to harvest sweet profit if you buy Bitcoin today and are able to hold it for a while (about 2 years).

The time was right yesterday for bitcoin investment, not today. The people that will enjoy the returns on their investment the most are not those that will invest today but those that invested yesterday.

They always say HODL for as long as you can, but nobody tells you how long you are expected to HODL, you decide that yourself, that is how long you intend to HODL and your target. For some people 5-7years is just fine and okay to HODL, but maybe not to everyone.

If you can actually plant a tree to mark the duration of HODLing from planting to maturation of the tree, that can work and help you in your discipline. Just pick the tree you want if you have a space for it, some trees take a year, some two, others three and so on to maturation, Pick your tree and do some planting, planting trees are even advised.

Planting a tree is commonly used to describe what investing is. That's what the people that I've talked to for a lot of years have explained and even my mother when she's teaching me how to invest. I'm glad that there were those people that have opened my eyes to investing and fortunately, I fell in love with investing and that's through bitcoin. 5-7 years does not equate a long term investment. In other words, it's not really that long.
We look back to how cheap Bitcoin was in 2010 and how high it got in 2017, which is a timespan of about 7 years.

An example isn't bad by the way. The summary is we should have Patience when dealing with Bitcoin. Bitcoin isn't something that makes quick money. We have seen always holders become gainers but for that need patience. Someone it takes a couple of years to recover the price or hit the ATH. So yea, it's something like tree plantation. Can't expect quick results always. Sometimes a few lucky people can earn a decent amount within a short time. But everyone isn't lucky enough. I think it's comparable, both are appreciating assets if taking good care and will yield results as time goes by. But there are investors that can't wait that long though, 5-7? nah? Tree differs. There are trees you plant, and within a short period, it has grown more than expected. That depends on when you plant the seed(rainy or dry season).

Having said that, each cryptocurrency investor has a window of time during which they will buy and sell their bitcoin. Your assertion is brilliant, investment takes a long time for it to yield tangible result. Bitcoin investment has a lot to do with patients, patient they say is a virtue, it propels the drive for excellence, because whatever that is good doesn't come easy.

The two involved patience before you can earn something good in it, which is very important for traders to learn how to be patience whenever there is bear market. The more the tree spend more years the more you have hope of harvesting a lot of fruits from that tree when it is time to produce in the land. In BTC investment, there are long term investment and short term investment which the two is for profits making but it's advisable to involve in long term investment which require many years to hold before you can sell to smile. But short term investment also require patience to get it right when the price increase higher within one or six months before you can sell.

You sounded undoubtedly a good analogy with a tree. It is impossible to get results instantly and you can't do without waiting in investments. Bitcoin has to "sprout" in your wallet in order to bear the "fruits" of the investment, and this will take time. 5-7 months is not enough here, and "growth" will take more than one year. Bitcoin chart (easy to look at CMC) for the entire period of existence of btc shows well the past "harvest" years.
