What exactly can you be sure of that in the near future we are waiting for a lot of changes in the labor market.AI do an excellent job with simple tasks such as developing a logo or writing an advertising text.I think there will be consequences in the freelance market, but I don’t think that AI will be able to affect something global and replace people in more serious specialties.

I am wondering how many people will lose their jobs because of AI? Why can't humans be the ones assisting these people? Many people are jobless and they need a job to survive, yet we are ready to replace them with AI? You guys think this is an achievement but it is really not, this should happen only if there are so many jobs available and there are no more people to fill in the jap, people need to get paid to survive and take care of their families, AI robots are making the chances to become lower.
The fact that there should be an excessive number of jobs before AI is hired is a good point. But the case now is, imagine if a company would need to hire 10 people in their company, whose salaries every month are $50,000 ($5k each), but they could get five AI robots that could multitask the job that 10 humans are supposed to do. Of course, the company would want to gather money and just buy five AIs that can do the job. It's just a way of not spending a lot of money to pay workers salaries. I also tend to agree with a friend who said if there is more AI, it will also create different kinds of job opportunities but require a different skill set. Perhaps if you are referring to the image I added, that was in the COVID-19 pandemic when a lot of doctors were asked to stay at home, some were quarantined, and only a few were on duty, so the only choice then was to assign some AI robot Snip I have seen this kind of response a couple times this week, and I Know very soon it will become a new trend , but honestly, it's becoming boring. Anyone could ask an AI if they wanted to, aside from the response of the AI: What do you believe? think. because the thing here is that, if this AI is being built with too much or something that will make them more like humans, I just think they will want to win against humans.

It may not be as simple as you imagine. And as confirmation of this, two days ago a petition was signed by well-known personalities and influencers in the technical field calling on the scientific community to stop work on developing artificial intelligence programs for a period of six months in order to study the impact of this on the economy and the market. One of these signatories is Elon Musk. So it goes beyond being artificial intelligence to make images and ideas. It is certain that entire operational sectors are threatened with extinction, waiting for artificial intelligence to be able to fully replace humans. With the acceleration of development in this field, all human civilization is threatened in the long run.

Exactly why it was scary, as I've said on that response on how they confidently claim that they are safe, leaving so many holes in their statement like "we are programmed to do this, and that" and "that depends on the programmer if they'll teach us what human ethics is", just like how I asked it why whenever they're asked a question, they are always humble, and their response would always be "As an AI model, I am programmed to...". Think about the possibilities of someone behind those programming, pretty sure they're not stupid enough to make some flaws, but what will happen is someone wants to monopolize the whole thing? This may be irrelevant but, during the war between Ukraine and Russia, Elon threatened that he would disable all the tesla cars in Russia. That simply means he owns the command on all the tesla cars even if you have imprinted all of your identity for ownership. That is just an example on how scary monopoly can be.

Lifelong learning will become essential in the future of work. With the rapid pace of technological change, workers will need to be constantly learning and adapting to new technologies and job requirements. Lifelong learning will become essential to staying competitive in the job market. The role of government and employers will also be crucial in the future of work. Governments and employers will need to invest in training and education programs to help workers transition to new jobs and acquire new skills. This will be particularly important for workers in industries that are being automated. For example, governments can offer retraining programs, educational subsidies, or tax incentives to encourage workers to acquire new skills. Employers can also offer on-the-job training, flexible work arrangements, and career development opportunities to support their employees in adapting to new roles. Ultimately, the future of work will be characterized by both disruption and opportunity. Workers who are able to adapt to new technologies and acquire new skills will be well-positioned to succeed in the job market, while those who are unable or unwilling to adapt may find themselves left behind. To thrive in the future of work, workers will need to be proactive in their approach to learning and development. They will need to be willing to invest time and effort into acquiring new skills and adapting to new job requirements.
Keep in mind that people believed the industrial revolution and rise of computer technology would also have the same effect of displacing workers forcing people to adapt new skillsets in order to compete in the labor market. It did happen; however, standard of living also increases due to the new technology. It isn't a zero sum game, there's always a net benefit to new technologies making the standard of living better even though it might displace unspecialized skillsets. My remedy, however, wouldn't be for the government to step in with incentives unless AI truly met level of immediate intervention, which is mass unemployment (double digits or higher). I think within the natural course of action, any prudent person would understand they themselves would need education/training to compete in the labor market in a generation where AI replaces certain work.

The presence of a lot of technology certainly has an impact on the human workforce, currently many companies or industries have shifted from human labor to machine power, robots or AI, a small thing for example is when there is no toll road service technology, previously using humans who work and number up to thousands, after there was a tab system, thousands of people were unemployed.

Note that this is not the opinion of the majority, including the most important influencers in the technology field. Artificial intelligence has really succeeded in reducing the demand for many services, including translation services, support services, and many others. I do not think that it is wise to conclude premature judgments, but the issue really deserves a pause of reflection before things get out of control in one way or another and lead to unexpected repercussions. Artificial intelligence is capable of providing many advantages, but it must be dealt with more wisely.

For employers definitely prefer AI technology over spending money to impart skills to their employees. they are happy if they can cut monthly expenses by reducing employees and then replacing them with AI if I as an entrepreneur will definitely do it too. before the technology existed, multi skill education was implemented at my workplace, so all employees had to master other skills or master all other parts to fill in if an employee was absent

It's happening gradually; for example, during COVID-19, some robotics were assigned in the hospital to assist doctors, while others were delivering food to patients in the hospital and keeping lonely patients company. As this continues to emerge, the use of human power in some companies will be less required, which will make some people lose their jobs unless they have some better skills or required some new skill that will fit the new job opportunities that the company will need then. I have read in a paper from 2021 that a company has bought an AI robot to serve the purpose of a receptionist in their company, I just can't get the paper any more. While this can bring benefits such as increased efficiency and cost savings, it also raises concerns about job shifts and the need for new skills. Like the example you gave, AI and robotics are used in workplaces, such as in hospitals and as receptionists. This trend is likely to continue, and it is important that workers are prepared for the changes that are coming. The development of new skills that will be needed in the future job market and the need for companies to support their workers through this transition period I feel is what is needed.

It's sad because a lot of work is replaced with AI, the company hopes to save production costs by diverting from manual to AI, but from the social side it will have an impact on increasing unemployment, this is a special problem that every change will require sacrifice.

You sound as if most of this company really cares (100) about their staffs welfare, just because they are still pretending to care due to the service the staffs are assisting them to carry out in their company. When this transition becomes a reality, even the company that a person has served for five or more years will just dump the person. They will only retain a few staff. I am trying to remember the name of one movie I watch. In the movie, aliens invaded the country and put the lives of its citizens at risk. A big technology company in that country only had the safest place that the aliens could not invade, so what they did was to only select a few of their staff and their families out of a thousand staffs they had, and they left the rest behind to suffer and die. Probably something similar may occur in the future but not with alien 👽 case, this time will be human vs AI.

We must never forget that as much as businesses pay lip service to the environment and other social causes, at the bottom they do not care at all about it, business are created with the intention of making money and that is it, so if businessmen think that by doing something they can earn a lot of money they will do it, and if AI becomes a way for them to save themselves a lot of money then you can be sure they will implement it, not caring at all about all the employees they will have to fire

It's kinda sad that this is really like an inevitable things to happen since tech is evolving anyway. I recall some news about that new Mcdonald's restaurant even opening that has no employee and imagine if such layoffs happened to those fast food chain since every processes were being automated already. Even tech giants are now doing layoffs, but it is not due to AI yet I believe. Devs are ironically laying themselves off their jobs as they develop the one that replaces them, although I do have some few doubts that AI will replace devs though.

This is something that people need to be prepared for and it is going to change the workplace forever, if we can have AI driving cars, what task is it left for them that can't be done, even some industries that people feel can't be disrupted by AI and machine will be, legal and Medicine are in for this. We just need to adapt and be prepared for this change because the change is here

I have seen lots of arguments about AI and the influence on the jobs out there and my opinion is incline on there will no be AI taking the jobs from people but rather, they will help the humans in where things might become difficult and help the works becomes easier but after seeing what developed countries are trying to shutdown AI projects is scary than the evolution of AI itself, but either we like it or not, AI are not Robot in real life, they are artificial intelligents that have study the algorithm of systems and will work the same way men has been for a while and the intresting about them is that they have system to upgrade with make it cool.

Bad news as it may seem, but we people have the best skills and abilities and one of it is to adapt.
And with such rapid changes and innovation with certain technologies like AI. Things will be eventually normal when we've already adapted the phases and changes.
We may lack of skills for now on how to maneuver and maximize the usage of it but eventually we'll get there for sure like being in the AI, machine learning, automation, etc. are going to be simple jobs in the future as if data entry in the past.

Personally, I don't share the view that artificial intelligence won't take jobs away. Already now artificial intelligence creates excellent paintings, composes quite good music, and writes good stories. Artists, composers, writers, and designers will soon risk losing their jobs. That is the minimum. There will be more.

With this Boom in AI apps development, big things should happen sooner than expected. There are already decrease in demands for freelance jobs since the lunch of ChatGpt. What many people do not know is that there are applications that work with the same technology that have been in the market for years, but the big wave started since the launch of Chatgpt, which is not considered the most advanced as the AI chat application. Today, there are large companies working on developing similar applications, and this competition will change the shape of the economy (the world) forever, maybe.

The layoffs are mostly due to economic crisis and the fact that companies don't make as much money as they used to make when the economy of a country goes downhill, that's when companies start cutting short their employees to keep their budget under control and make the company sustainable and keep it away from going bankrupt. I do agree that in the future, a lot of jobs can be replaced with AI or machines, but I believe there will also be a way for humans to survive without having to work a 9 to 5 job because the world will obviously not end like that, so there will surely be a way out from this as well for the human beings.
