Hi, guys! Is there any other mixer where I can send BTC and get another BTC with private keys with past date? For me, this was the only way I can be 100% sure those are not my coins. I see bunch of mixers claiming that I'll receive coins from other people using their pool, but how can I be sure of that? As of now I think the only way to keep my privacy is to use swap exchangers (BTC to XMR from one and then XMR to BTC from another). Thanks!

I can't find any mixer with the same concept as ChipMixer since it was seized by the government no alternative can give clean coins with past dates.

Why not create a new non-custodial wallet and send your mixed coins to that wallet and let it hold for a couple of days or weeks? Then send it anywhere you want it will likely be the same as Chipmixer where they mixed coins and hold BTC to any unique addresses with a private key.

Solving blocks can't be solved without my rigs.

I actually do have a Ledger Nano X laying around somewhere, which I now Googled and it says that it's "non-custodial". But what does that mean? If I remember correctly it can give me a standard wallet address where I can send the crypto. So if I buy crypto from the ATM, send it to that wallet and buy something a few days later, isn't that the same as Electrum wallet - easily traceable?

Yes, it is the same. If you buy cryptocurrency from an ATM, send it to a wallet, and then use that cryptocurrency to purchase something a few days later, it can still be traced.

You can use CoinJoin to improve the privacy. When you use CoinJoin, your transaction is combined with other transactions from other users, making it difficult to identify which input belongs to which user. An alternative choice is to use a different mixing service, such as one listed in the 2023 List of Bitcoin Mixers and Bitcoin Tumblers Websites. However, none of these options offer the same features as ChipMixer.

It means you only those who know or own the private key of the wallet can control what goes on in the wallet, unlike centralized exchanges where you only have passwords to login to the exchange and not to the wallet.
And I think you're missing something here, non-custodial doesn't only apply to hardware wallet only, for example Electrum is not a hardware wallet yet it's a non-custodial wallet, as long you are able to control your cryptocurrency through your private key then that wallet is non-custodial.

And just as they have recommended above for you, if you can't find any mixer that provide you with chips then all you have to do is to create a new wallet address and let the mixer send your mixed coin to the new wallet, that way you'll get the best result from the mixer.

Even if you somehow encounter a similar mixer, the chances are very high that your are going to get scammed by them. Chipmixer had years of experience and reputation. A random mixer will never have the same amount of trust unless it proves itself first. And even though all the reputation CM had, people still discuss if CM were logging their users or not because of the 7tb seized data by the FBI. Are you going to trust another crypto mixer so blindly after what happened?

If I were you, be careful with the decision you make, maybe later you won't know that the person you are talking to is a scammer. Apart from that there is nothing like the chipmixer.

That's why you say that it's a group of mixers, that's a bit worrying because you don't know that it's a group of scammers just trying to bite you with nice words, so be careful, friend.

No, there is no other mixer right now with the same concept as ChipMixer, and probably this is one of the biggest reasons why they remain on top until they were seized by the authorities. I know it's hard to really know if this mixers are getting clean bitcoin as they claim and it come directly to their mining pool or any other pool for that miner. So if you really wanted to remain anonymous and private, then you have to 'trust' those current mixers that we have today, and t hat their coins are not tainted in anyway. Or if you have questions about the whole 'trust' then yeah just continue or your mixing strategy.

I tend to agree with this, there's no other alternative that has the same concept as Chipmixer, it's a big loss for those who concern about their privacy since it was seized.  AFAIK, tumblers/mixers typically rely on a central party to operate the service, which means that there's some level of trust required, and most mixers now that have left was new in this business and it's likely can't be trusted IMO.

Talking about Coinjoin I think that is much better even though it's not a perfect solution and may not be completely effective in all cases but at least it enhanced your privacy.  You can use the Wasabi wallet or the Samourai wallet which offer Conjoin services, they are also open-source wallets.

OP, there are lots of mixers out there that are with good features for your secured privacy. I understand the fact that chipmixer was good and guarantees customer privacy with optimum care. However, chipmixer is no more as it has been seized by the government and there is no two ways about it as there are lots of others currently in operation and their services are guaranteed with utmost privacy. You can look out for these mixers and try them yourself; [banned mixer], coinomize, whirlwind.money etc

If you use it more than once, it is possible you receive your own coins again.

There's none right now...though I am sure someone will take the idea and bring it back soon enough. ChipMixer only failed because the operator had poor operational security. Some of the information leaked about his practices were appalling. That does not mean that running a service like this is condoned nor something that imposes no risk even with great operational security. It just means that it's possible for the concept to eventually come back under better management.

Are you referring to Chipmixer, or mixers in general? If you're referring to Chipmixer mixing method, I believe you can just check the history of each chip to see whether your past transactions/addresses are linked or not. This should apply to any mixer that follows a similar mixing method, CMIIW. As for others, some of them develop a code that you need to save to make sure your coins don't get mixed with your past transactions. Time will tell how effective it is, but these prevention exist for now. You can probably use both mixer and coinjoin to add another layer of obfuscation, although I can't tell how effective it would be.

For sure, we should not trust any mixing service blindly as many are popping up after the chipmixer closure. I would not use any service unless and until I have some good feedback about it.

If you use it more than once, it is possible you receive your own coins again.

It does not matter if we receive our own coins back as there is no one's name written on any coin. The main purpose is to mix the coins so that the coin we received is not traceable.  Smiley

You don't have to be that sure, do you know what data was seized by the FBI? Why were they keeping all this data for such a long period of time? What is their purpose in keeping the data?

These questions all need to be answered before we can say that chipmixer was really trustworthy!!!

Yes, chipmixer was trusted by everyone for a long time, but after this incident, I personally no longer have confidence in any third-party services because you don't know if they really keep your privacy or not.
