Personally, I fell into this trap a few days ago, even though I am well aware of it. I gave access to connect my Metamask wallet with a new project website and totally forgot about it. Later, after two days, I sent some BNB to my wallet, but it disappeared instantly and was sent to another wallet because of my stupid mistake.
This is new to me. Normally when a web3 project ask you to connect your metamask wallet or sort of wallet extensions on the browser isn't it that's what we do? We connecte the wallet and do our things like deposit, withdraw etc. What changed in your case that they still had the access and moved your funds from the wallet?

I don't think it has anything to do with how old the project is. If there are hole to take your coins then it's risky to avoid connecting your wallet. But since it's already out there, there must be some secure way. How would we know?

This method existed just a few months or less after the first Dapp from Ethereum was launched, but it wasn't really known or used until last year with the beginning of Web3.0 Airdrops claiming and Dapp presales. People used to purchase and connect their wallets safely to swap or other services, but they didn't used to read the terms and use before agreeing and attaching the wallet connect. So the solution to not fall into this scam is to read the contracts well before connecting your wallet to any service or Dapp and also do some research about the website and project you are willing to participate in.

 Unfortunately, there are no warnings or ways to stop these kinds of traps, but you can always check the wallet connect inside your Metamask or Trustwallet and disconnect it. Here's a link where you can find all the contracts attached to your wallet, and you can disconnect them:

~~~
they'll surely be an ignorant victim, most gamblers are in a haste to make money and as well do what probably others are doing and even without thoughts, the jump into every opportunity.
I wouldn't say enough publicity be made because publicity is made on a daily people just want to get quick wealth.
Yeah, they will surely be those that will fall for this type of scam but the more awareness we create the lesser the chance of them falling for it, just take a look at this thread for example if a newbie should stumble upon this thread there's no way he will still be willing to go ahead to unknown casino and still connect its wallet there.
And also everyone should remain vigilant because the more scammers and hackers are exposed the more the keep on creating more means to scam, and this one just happened to be one of those means. Before you know there will be another thread again warning us about a new type of scam or a new way in which hackers now use to gain access to our wallet or system as a whole.
Hey!
So this guy started a thread requesting "help" with bumping his so-called withdrawal!
https://i.imgur.com/1GoolWa.png
Not providing TX-ID or anything.
1) He finds a reply of a big win
2) He advertises the "casino name" in the thread
3) He is self-moderating the thread
Once you click the casino name, it gives you the option to "connect your wallet" once you connect your wallet, your funds are 100% lost.
A simple click bait scam.
I warned others, my reply got removed and thread has been closed.
Rather than only connect they also add in a permission to do whatever they like and if you give them that permission, they can take any funds in your wallet. If you are a curious person who wants to try anyway, despite knowing its 99.99% definitely a scam, then at the very least use a new and empty wallet. But it would be better not to give any permissions at all, in my opinion. Nobody needs to connect to your wallet to send you crypto. All they need is to know is your public wallet address.
Anything that seems too good to be true, probably is. Just remember that the next time you or anyone else makes 200k in winnings.
Thanks, for alerting this to the gambling community here.
I once had a bad thing happen to my MetaMask wallet, after I accessed a new casino that I found out on the internet, without thinking twice, I was tempted by the bonuses and wins that I saw on their casino site, luckily I didn't have much balance in my MetaMask wallet, in short, what you said happened to me, without playing, the contents of the wallet on MetaMask disappeared without being able to say anything else after I saw the balance on MetaMask disappeared in a matter of minutes.
That's the worst experience I've ever had after accessing the casino to my MetaMask wallet, until now I really can't believe on behalf of the casino that I can directly access my wallet.
Metamask is prone to phishing and one wrong click might lead you into hacking. There were plenty of users who have experienced it so we better be careful in clicking links or as much as possible ignore suspicious sites. I've experienced it before as well when I tried to access a specific site where I didn't notice that it was just a phishing site. It's also a good thing that I wasn't storing my funds in Metamask. It's better if we will secure our funds in a safer wallet to have better assurance.
Isn't this kind of scam existed for years now?  This is not a new way of scamming,   many people fell to this kind of scam since years ago, they are just creating new strategy to make people take the bait and connect their wallets to the scam site.
So we should always stay vigilant and be wary of possible scams when some unknown site prompts us to connect our wallet.  Unless the site is reputable and existed and well used by other people, I do not think we should put our trust easily.
I don't really think that this kind of scams existed for years since wallet connecting feature hasn't really been around for very long, and it is a relatively new technology that came to being after the introduction of decentralized platforms. Scammers are smart, and they use methods that are popular and used by a large quantity of people from everywhere.
They chose to use a decentralized platform technique this time to scam newbies by making them believe that they can get a lot of money by gambling on their platform or by playing some games available on their platform, but none of it is true and all they need is a wallet getting connected and that's it.
Unfortunately all these new people in the space falls the victim for it.
Even if the user is new and he or she is not greedy to get money in very quick way, he or she would not fall for it. But for those who are greedy and planning to get rich quick will fall for it. Though joblessness also make people to fall for this kind of trap. Scammers are always advancing in their method, but those who are smart enough are detect them when they (scammers) brought any way to scam people.
Actually, it is quite obvious that this person is known for scamming.
A beginner account claiming that he won "xxx" number of money from betting and he would advertise a casino with some random links is shady in itself. Though that may be the case, it is still dangerous for the untrained eye as they may fall from this kind of deception.
From my point of view, just stay loyal at your current gambling website. If you have invested money in a certain online casino, then that heavily implies that it will lasts for a long-time due to its proven name on the market.
Okay now you are scaring me. I have tron wallet to save some USDT shit, ETH wallet which has tokens and either. As far as I remember I connected them via metamask, coin98 extension etc with many web3 applications to transfer token or ETH. All were long ago. I never thought how it works even no idea about the revoke thing. Are you telling me I fucked up somewhere? If I did then how would I save myself except moving them to a new wallet? It's my ledger and it has so many other wallets that it will take me days to find out those other wallets one by one and move the coins.
I even have bitcoin on that same ledger device. I am sure there are no risk for the private key to be exposed?
I'm not trying to scare you, but I wanted to warn you and share my experience with this kind of scam so that people don't fall for it. Based on what you said about having many Web3 applications connected to your wallet I suggest that you revoke them from your wallet settings. If you don't have that option you can use the website I shared with you in my previous reply.
It's so important for everyone to understand how Web3 Dapps work and to be careful before granting access to your wallet with any services, including swaps, Dapp casinos, or anything that connects to your wallet. I also recommend watching educational videos on how to verify if contracts can access your assets. It's as simple as swaps, where you exchange tokens or coins, but the sale process can be a scam if the website is fraudulent. Once you grant access to your wallet, they can do whatever they want with your assets.
Okay now you are scaring me. I have tron wallet to save some USDT shit, ETH wallet which has tokens and either. As far as I remember I connected them via metamask, coin98 extension etc with many web3 applications to transfer token or ETH. All were long ago. I never thought how it works even no idea about the revoke thing. Are you telling me I fucked up somewhere? If I did then how would I save myself except moving them to a new wallet? It's my ledger and it has so many other wallets that it will take me days to find out those other wallets one by one and move the coins.
I even have bitcoin on that same ledger device. I am sure there are no risk for the private key to be exposed?
I'm not trying to scare you, but I wanted to warn you and share my experience with this kind of scam so that people don't fall for it. Based on what you said about having many Web3 applications connected to your wallet I suggest that you revoke them from your wallet settings. If you don't have that option you can use the website I shared with you in my previous reply.
It's so important for everyone to understand how Web3 Dapps work and to be careful before granting access to your wallet with any services, including swaps, Dapp casinos, or anything that connects to your wallet. I also recommend watching educational videos on how to verify if contracts can access your assets. It's as simple as swaps, where you exchange tokens or coins, but the sale process can be a scam if the website is fraudulent. Once you grant access to your wallet, they can do whatever they want with your assets.
To be honest for us bitcoiners understanding this web3 techs are too much I guess. Not everyone have sound technical knowledge in all niche. Do you have any good resources to know how to revoke the connection from a Ledger [not recommended anymore, scammers] wallet?
Thank you.
