I only have two Bitcoin wallet on my Android phone both of them works fine but I don't which is the best.

I'm talking about Electrum and schildbach wallet I never experience any issues yet but I mostly use Electrum on mobile the only downside of using Electrum on Mobile you can't able to sign/verify messages.

On desktop, I prefer Electrum. In fact, Electrum desktop wallet still remain the best bitcoin wallet. But on Android, mobile Bluewallet has more features than mobile Electrum. But mobile Electrum is light to load than mobile Bluewallet.

If you just want to make transaction, and also be able to pump the fee which are the two most important thing that people using bitcoin are looking for in a wallet, use Electrum. But If you need more features like coin control, use mobile Bluewallet.

To my knowledge, Electrum for Android also supports coin control. You can navigate to the address screen, sort the addresses using various filters, and then select and freeze specific ones.

Freezing of address and coin control are similar but not the same. With address freeze, you can freeze all inputs of an address. But with coin control, you can fix specific number of inputs of your choice of the address.

Assuming a good guy sent bitcoin to address A (input 1) and bad guy sent dust amount to the same address A (input 2). You can decide to use coin control to freeze input 2 while input 1 is not freezed. But with address freeze, you have no option than to freeze input 1 and input 2.

Bitcoin.org website is offering several options for Bitcoin Android wallets, including few of them that fork with some shitcoins.
Blue wallet is missing from that list and it's not a bad wallet, but don't use any closed source wallets please, and maybe best option is to combine Android wallet with your hardware wallet for better security.
Otherwise, I wouldn't keep any significant amount of coins on any smartphone hot wallet.

There is one wallet I do not recommend, just because it only has encrypted file backup, and no way to backup your seed phrase by writing it down on paper or on steel or stainless sheet.

But the wallet is perfect for those that knows how risky it can be for someone to only depend on wallet file.

This can be confusing as OP can think that Bluewallet is close source. @tread93, Bluewallet is completely an open source wallet.

How to do conclude that Apple is simple to use, just try to copy the videos and music from Apple iPhone to PC and try the same from Android to PC and you will know the difference

If you were using the Apple iPhone, you must be using the famous blue wallet, the same wallet work in Android as well and you may use it. You may use Electrum wallet too on your mobile but i don't like it because of its limited features on the phone. It works well on desktop / Laptop.

Well, I understand Apple can be very attractive because its ease of use and how fluently their hardware works with their software, but the freedom a good android phone can give is also very worth the change if you ask me.

I have messed with Android before, installing ROMs, customized kernels, etc. It is more open and that is something anyone into Bitcoin and free software should appreciate a bit.

As for the wallet, I also recommend you to try the schildbach wallet, but be aware that wallet has a different mechanism to back your wallet up. It does not show your seed as other wallets do, instead it creates an encrypted file which contains your seed/private keys.

Once you encrypted that file, you are supposed to upload it to your personal cloud or save it in your PC, so if you lose your phone, you can download the app again, transfer the file to the new phone and decipher the keys.

In other to do those things, you must not forget both your encrypting password and the pin for payments.  

If you have any other question about that wallet, let me know. I used it for several months.

Blue Wallet will be my recommendation for you as a bitcoin wallet on Android.

But you can also choose your own bitcoin wallet that suits your needs by opening the bitcoin.org site.
The method is quite easy. You will be directed yourself in choosing a wallet.

Select wallet >> Next >> select android version >> Next.
When it comes to that stage, the question will arise how much we know about bitcoin. New or experienced.
I think you are in the experienced category.

Proceed by pressing it the experienced option. After that we just have to tick everything and according to the Next command we will arrive at the desired selection.

AFAIK the last update on the wallet lists happened 6 months ago, which was an update to the Electrum wallet description. So they probably don't have the time to update/add new ones that fill the criteria[1], or the developer of the said wallet has not yet opened an issue for that. CMIIW.

Correct. In the choice of a new user type, blue wallet does not enter the name into bitcoin.org.
Even without checking each column what criteria are required (optionally) from Control to Fees and what features are you looking for from 2FA to SegWit, only four wallets appeared according to the instructions namely Bitcoin Wallet, BitPay, Electrum, and Unstoppable.



I recommend Blue Wallet and started using it on Android after the announcement made by @theymos at November 15, 2022, 02:36:52 AM (Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts) after an incident that happened to one of the major exchanges with the intention of making funds more secure.

Choosing and using Electrum is also very good, but in my experience, Blue Wallet is easier to use on Android than Electrum.

What we need to say is that the OP can make his own choices via the path we provide via a bitcoin.org search.

Over the past 6 months, there has not been any update, just an update to the Electrum wallet description.
Maybe some developers are busy with other work. Bitcoin core also has no updates and is still in version 23.1 Published on December 21, 2022.

For wallet updates, you can submit directly manually and make sure the wallet meets all the requirements listed on GitHub

I'm also a Blue Wallet user and it's quite easy to use compared to Electrum, and it also has more features.
But now Blue Wallet no longer supports the Bitcoin Lightning Network and has stopped lightning node connection to Lndhub.

The service will be shut down on April 30, 2023, so it is imperative for BlueWallet users to move their sat to another service or wallet of their choice.
However, regular Bitcoin wallets will not be affected by this change.

Which Bitcoin wallet were you using in your Apple iOS ?

You can use blue wallet or Electrum in your Android phone. Blue Wallet has a more user friendly interface as compared to the Electrum Andriod version.

Apple has the highest security features which Andriod lacks but i still believe that Andriod is more convenient to use unless you are living in an Apple ecosystem.

Avoid Bitcoin wallets that are closed sources because they are prone to unexpected things or hacking and so on, as has been stated a lot.

Choosing a wallet for Android actually has many choices starting from Bitcoin Wallet, Electrum, Mycelium, Sparrow Wallet, Unstoppable Wallet, Blue Wallet, Samourai Wallet.
Of all these wallets, you can see the advantages one by one and in my opinion all of these wallets are good.

If you want a desktop wallet, Bitcoin Core and Electrum are the best choices I recommend.

You are correct; Blue Wallet still supports Lightning and can still be used by connecting to your own or other LNDs; what is no longer supported is using of BlueWallet's LNDhub.
In the latest Blue Wallet update a few days ago, by default in Blue Wallet (v6.4.1), there is no longer a sentence "Leave blank to use BlueWallet's LNDHub (lndhub.io)" in Lightning settings.

 

The Android wallets that I recommend are BlueWallet and Unstoppable Wallet; not only are they non-custodial wallets, but they also use the concept of open-source code:

For Electrum, I favor the desktop version over the Android version.
