For now you can continue to apply if you are a prominent member/previous CM participant. If I catch you "bumping" your application or if you re-apply (while having left your application here some time in the last 2 weeks), you'll be put on ignore and forfeit any chance of joining this campaign in the future. It will familiarize Signature participants with the platform they work for (Or renting the Signature space could be a better compliment). I've used Whirlwind before. It was simple and nice. Look like Many things changed already. I created a Note a few minutes ago and it gives me a deposit address that starts with ww2x. To be honest, I am not familiar with this kind of address and I guess I haven't seen any BTC address starting with ww2x.

Usually, you ask for a bech32 address. I sent you my BTC address Via PM that I got from the Note.

hello hhampuz i sent you my public address in private message, i agree with the fact that we should use the service offered by whirlwind, but if it was possible to choose i would prefer to continue receiving payments on my btc address, however i leave the choice to you of where to send the funds. Of course, using a privacy-preserving technique is a welcome practice, but in addition, every stakeholder should use the product they endorse.

If Warren Buffet is drinking coke every day, and I don't know how healthy this is, for sure all campaign users should use the healthy mixers.

This is just my personal thought, every user is of course free to do what he prefers.

Thank you for trying out Whirlwind. I'd like to clear out the misunderstanding regarding the Note Public Address starting with 'ww'.

When you 'generate' a Note on the website the private key you are getting is a normal Bitcoin private key. It starts with 'ww-' so it's easier to distinguish from other bitcoin private keys you have in case you save them in the same place.

The Note Public Address is in fact the Legacy Bitcoin address corresponding to the private key you saved, the only difference is that every '1' is changed to 'ww' so again, you can easily distinguish a Whirlwind Note from a Bitcoin address.

Example:
ww-L4xK361wZYYxJg7vSwXgDTVBVXY4JfgYrUU5QZic2nNB9PUbMzbt - Note Private Key

Thank you for your support! There shouldn't be any reason not to receive payments to Notes instead of straight to your Bitcoin address since there are no fees and you can preserve your privacy while also being able to prove origin of funds if you ever need to do that, but we understand if some feel differently and they will continue to receive the payments same as before.

Yes you can do that.

This is not possible but may I ask why would you want to do that? You can receive payments to any valid Note address even if you never accessed Whirlwind before, they don't have to be 'initialized' in any way. As long as you have the private key you can access the funds anytime.

Example: Imagine you need to receive a payment so you generate a new address locally and send the Legacy address to the sender expecting a normal Bitcoin transfer. The sender can now pay you instantly, anonymously and for free through Whirlwind even if you didn't know we existed. You could then access the website and withdraw your funds to your desired address. (the sender can also send you the LoG for the Pay to Note transfer proving that he sent the funds)

This feature will become even more useful once we decentralize the service and open-source everything. It may seem impossible to do this given Bitcoin's technical limitations but you know the quote: it always seems impossible until it's done. 

We figured out a solution to make this possible and we are working on a research paper as we speak. We really hope we will get the chance to implement it, we strongly believe it would be a complete game-changer for Bitcoin privacy and perhaps the same model could also be used for other types of applications that involve custody of Bitcoin.

The only thing holding us back from starting the development is the modest usage we've seen until now for the current version. It already took about 4 months of intense development to get to where we are now and we are not yet convinced enough demand exists to make the effort of implementing the new version worth it, but hopefully this will change with the Anonymity Mining campaign and once people truly understand how Whirlwind works and why the model used is superior to any other.
