Why do you have to do that?
Trying to convince someone over something that the person did not want isn't right most especially when it's all about Bitcoin, don't force anyone to it, just explain to them what the technology is all about and then let them be, there is no point in convincing them that Bitcoin is the right choice, because if any mistake of investment is being made in the near future, you who convince them will be the one to be hold responsible.

I think educating them is just the thing you can do for them to prevent them from getting scammed by these scammers who are using cryptocurrencies as their props for their Ponzi schemes. As for convincing, you're right is not good to do that because the volatility of the market could make the person lose his temper and put all the blame on you. The best thing you can do is to tell him everything and to make him know that the crypto market is volatile also you need to remove any blame against you by freeing yourself from whatever decision he would make after you explained the necessary information he needs.

Totally agree, education is key.

In the past years I have told countless people about crypto and most of them only knew it from the news in connection to something illegal ( darknet and so on ) or too high speculative investments that go south.

People are not aware that bitcoin and/or crypto actually have a purpose much further than just using it as a payment option.

The question is, how can you actually educate people about the advantages and purposes in an easy way? In the beginning I was very confused about everything and it took me quite a while to understand certain things.

But even today I only know a fraction and still learn something every day.

I know there are still a lot of people that are skeptical about bitcoin but I don't think I need to convince them. For what? A lot of my family members and friends talked to me about bitcoin and crypto as a whole, especially in the past years. I can only explain to them the basics regarding its decentralized manner and its blockchain, I do not have to go further because it is up to them if they were interested to go deeper, the internet is available everywhere. I don't want people to blame me if ever their investments fail. Because whether we like it or not, most of them are only interested in the profit side.

Although within this community Bitcoin is practically the only currency in which everyone believes, just look around a bit and we will find thousands of people who think otherwise.
At this point I wonder, what reasons should we give these people to make them realise that Bitcoin is a right choice? The first argument that comes to mind to convince a person who is sceptical about Bitcoin, is first of all that with Bitcoin you no longer need to delegate the custody of your money to a third party (banks, mutual funds, etc.): you are the master and you hold them. What else would you add?

Don't convince people to do action which is against on their will. You might get accused for doing illegal activities and want to victimized them if you pressure them to do something they don't know.

Better let them discover the whole aspect about crypto and show your own result because skeptical people are result oriented and they want to see if you are earning good with it before it catch their interest to participate on things they discover.

If someone isn't willing to learn something or is dogmatic towards a topic the best you can do is to distance yourself from the person and let them experience the ugly side of the situation because as they say, experience is the best teacher.
And when it comes to financial issues I try as much as possible not to involve myself, imagine forcing or convincing someone who never had the intention of investing in Bitcoin, and as soon as they got in due to you convincing them, the price of Bitcoin dropped drastically. 100% sure that all the blame will be pointed at you.

Just tell them that there's Bitcoin give them resources that will teach them what they need to get started (as they don't need to learn everything) and if they're okay with the concept of Bitcoin let them go ahead and invest in it. This way if anything should happen you'll be confident because they made the decision themselves.

I taught myself everything about bitcoin through the internet, I hardly had any teachers other than google and youtube in the beginning. I think if someone is really passionate about investing in Bitcoin, they won't wait for someone to come and teach them, but they will find a way to find the answer on their own. And for those who don't like it, there's no point in wasting time with them, it's better to spend that time on our investment.

@Ever-young such approach is bad in my opinion. well, I know a lot of people have their opinions but come on, Bitcoin is open-source asset design for public, everyone can take part in Bitcoin but the problem here is that you encounter someone who is schecktical skeptical about Bitcoin, being scheptical skeptical doesn't really mean the person doesn't want but either the person is in doubt if they can profit anything about from the technology, they are in doubt if their funds can really be save with Bitcoin investment and perhaps if you are the guy that is so knowledgeable about Bitcoin, you know how beneficial Bitcoin technology is, and you want the the sceptical guy to enjoy the same benefits of Bitcoin, of cause their is nothing bad trying to really make them understand what the technology is all about and the benefits they can enjoy. IMO, it's not bad to explain to a sceptical person and make them understand better

What else would you add?

OP, if I am in this position to talk to a skeptical person, first I have to educate the person about inflation and how inflation can reduce the purchasing power of bank notes over time and how money can lose value because the central banks can print more money any time they want. Then I will educate the person about the voluminous supply and circulation of bank notes and the limited supply of bitcoin and how bitcoin can attain more value because supply is limited and demand will keep increasing. Going forward, I will talk to the person about the privacy of having a very large amount of money they want to store in Bitcoin without anyone knowing their identity. With these few points and other things I will add, we can be able to change the person's unconvincing state of mind and become convinced.

I wouldn't convince anyone about Bitcoin i mean let them be realize the worth of Bitcoin ill just introduce it to them and the uses of it and let them be decide if they want it or not because i dont see any reasons why should i convince them to jump into Bitcoin and also convincing some one to buy bitcoin leads to person blaming you that they lost their money because it fluctuates.  I would just introduce it than to convince them

I don't agree with the notion of persuading people to invest in Bitcoin, but I can only raise awareness of it and teach those who are interested in learning more about the blockchain. I don't believe I will be able to persuade anyone to invest in Bitcoin in order to benefit from it, though. As you have stated, if things don't work out after those you persuaded to invest doesn't make it, the blame will be surely put on someone. Infact from idea of invest only what you can afford to lose, it is a warning not to force anyone to invest in crypto industry. So let anyone who want to you invest do his/her own research and get convince itself.

My days of trying to convince people to buy Bitcoin are long gone. I may just educate them about Bitcoin, and try to clear up some naive misconceptions they may have against Bitcoin, it's left to them to take or leave it. A person who has chosen to be adamant about a particular cant change his view however hard you try. They're just like flat earthers. No matter the reasons and facts you give to show that the earth is not flat won't change their view of the earth.
Another reason I don't "convince people about Bitcoin is that they may get the wrong idea and see it as a get-rich-quick scheme then I'll get blamed when this doesn't happen. To them, I have become a fraud.

@Ever-young such approach is bad in my opinion. well, I know a lot of people have their opinions but come on, Bitcoin is open-source asset design for public, everyone can take part in Bitcoin but the problem here is that you encounter someone who is schecktical about Bitcoin, being scheptical doesn't really mean the person doesn't want but either the person is in doubt if they can profit anything about from the technology, they are in doubt if their funds can really be save with Bitcoin investment and perhaps if you are the guy that is so knowledgeable about Bitcoin, you know how beneficial Bitcoin technology is, and you want the the sceptical guy to enjoy the same benefits of Bitcoin, of cause their is nothing bad trying to really make them understand what the technology is all about and the benefits they can enjoy. IMO, it's not bad to explain to a sceptical person and make them understand better

If I understood @Ever-young very well, her statement seems like a safety procedure, and I see nothing wrong with that.
Being skeptical, like you said, is when one has interest but doesn't understand the technology, but from the OP's statement, it's clearly stated that the said person doesn't have interest in Bitcoin and at the same time wants a suggestion on how to convince the user to make Bitcoin their choice of investment, which is the worst mistake anyone can make because convincing someone who doesn't have interest in something is like forcing the person into that.

Just like @Ever-young has said, the best thing to do in this kind of case is to educate the person on how bitcoin works, its benefits, and also its disadvantages. That's the only thing I believe you need to do. After that, the user will be the one to make his or her choice as to whether or not he should make Bitcoin a means of investment or not. By so doing, both you, the OP, and the person in question won't have any issues in the near future.

Yes, you are absolutely right that currently there are still many people who are skeptical of Bitcoin. And I think that's a natural thing and it's not a big problem, Bitcoin is still relatively young and new to be accepted by everyone. Those who are still in doubt, of course, because they have their own reasons to be skeptical of Bitcoin.
In my opinion, with advances in technology in this digital era, they will definitely continue to read and find out for themselves and I'm sure most of them already know what Bitcoin is. On the internet or in various articles and social media content, many have explained in detail about all aspects of understanding, how to own, the advantages and even the risks involved in Bitcoin.
But when it comes to when they want to decide to take advantage of Bitcoin and when they will try to start investing or adopting Bitcoin, it's all up to each individual.
I don't think we need to force them to invest or adopt Bitcoin, I think we just have to continue to spread the word about Bitcoin as it is according to our abilities and knowledge. And help to introduce and provide further explanation to those who are already open and already want to try investing or adopting Bitcoin.

I'm not scared of being accused of doing something illegal when I know it's not illegal, but that doesn't mean I'd do what OP is asking about. You're not a guru, you're not promising them returns. If they lose money they can't do anything to you legally, but ethically you're at fault.

Convincing someone to buy bitcoin is indirectly taking responsibility for that person's investment. It's one thing to tell that person about bitcoin and give them a choice and another thing to try to change a mind of a skeptic.

Self-discovery. You can give all the tomes and the knowledge acailable on the intenet about bitcoin to a skeptical person but they will never accept your idea for theirs. They must realize it personally otherwise it just wouldn't sit well with them. I've had a few firneds back in the day who were very skeptical about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, for good reason anyway, since this was during the time when MLM and Ponzi Scams run rampant in our country. In any case, what I did with some I find hope in persuading is I gave them a little bitcoin to play around with, made them trust the project by letting them learn the ropes first-hand without the risk of losing their own money. If they find it enjoyable/profitable, they have the liberty to choose to invest using their own money. If they don't it's fine.

Sometimes these people just needs a little push to do what they really want. Keep that in mind OP

There is no need to force bitcoin skeptics to accept it.
I think the conditions when they accept can only be based on themselves because this goes back to basic principles.
Even if we convince by continuing to talk and provide facts that already exist, if they don't have a broad view everything will return to the final result where they will always be skeptical.
There is no need to convince anything to make it seem like this is the right choice, when they are aware and want to find out for themselves everything can be answered without us having to provide various words to explain that bitcoin is something that is feasible.

I don't need to do that to convince a skeptical person to buy Bitcoin. Awareness about Bitcoin can be created but there is no such thing as we have to convincing people to invest in Bitcoin. It's better to leave the investment entirely up to the individual, you can promote the positive aspects of Bitcoin to increase awareness, then it's up to them to invest or not to invest.
You can tell him about these positive aspects like,
  • Day by day increasing usages and potential future
  • Limited supply
  • Good profit return
  • Safe from other traditional systems..
  • Has the peer-to-peer(Decentralised) system in all over the world .......and more and more etc

You don't have to do that. Convincing someone to invest on bitcoin is dangerous and risky because if the person loss his money in the investment you are to hold responsible and repay the lost for the person because because might even tag you has a scam who lured him to invest and collect the money the back door. If the money is big the person might sued you in the court of law. So to avoid that you should not convinced anyone to invest on bitcoin but you can only give them the awareness which is what is bitcoin so that they will know the basics of bitcoin and later invest on their own.

It can be challenging to convince someone who is skeptical about the future of Bitcoin. Despite their familiarity with Bitcoin, they remain doubtful about its long-term prospects. Attempting to sway their opinion can be difficult, but providing them with a historical perspective on Bitcoin's price movements and technical aspects may help. However, it's essential not to invest an excessive amount of time or effort into persuading them. Alternatively, you could introduce Bitcoin to new individuals as a means of adoption.

Don't try to force anyone into buying bitcoin, this should come from them. By all means argue with them, change their mind about it, make sure the person is well informed and does not go around repeating lies learned from the mainstream media to their friends and relatives, but don't make them buy anything.
Plant a seed, make them doubt what the media is feeding them. If they're smart they'll start doing research, thinking about what you've said, they'll stop taking information as is. This will already be your personal success. Education, awareness, these are the important things.

I dont force up someone to deal up with Bitcoin specially if they would really make out some opposition on first approach on which it would really be that a long debate in speaking in between.
Also i dont really like to be blamed and this is why i dont really mind much when it comes on convincing someone on learning about bitcoin or crypto as a whole. If they would be trying to approach
me then i would consider on giving out the basics and explains them about the pro's and cons, after that then they would be the ones who would really be making
out decision whether they would be proceeding or not.

All sorts of things.  I think in large part I'd also point out how different bitcoin is from most other cryptocurrency coins that came after it, and why it's better than them.  I think the main thing I would discuss is what you brought up, not needing a bank.  The other thing I would mention is it can't be stopped by governments.  A lot of people are still under that assumption and I think explaining how this isn't true is a good way to help others understand.
