When I was still in elementary school, I been hearing politics but I never knew is a classical game challenge people have to battle to succeed in powers and positions but now is obvious is more like war. No Wonder my lecturer give different definition by different authors. Mahwo Shettu said is politics is war without blood shed, Aristotle said politics is the many for the benefit of few. Marx said is an exercise of bourgeois capitalism over innocent citizens.

But I seen politics as a game of classical cartels for shares interest. Is a win won or lose loss. This is real antepenultimate in lives of humans to play games over others.

And Thomas Mann said that "Everything is politics" which summarises it perfectly. I really don't understand why people need to diss the word when talking and negotiating (aka politics) is the only way to solve things peacefully and act like civilized society. Politicians who abuse their power just tells that system where that's possible isn't transparent enough. As it's way harder to do shady things when transactions and everything is  transparent.

Politics of this present time is something that is unbearable because the Citizens does not have the right to choose whoever that will be their leader it is the leader that will select themselves or forcefully put in their self to be the leader of everyone true Manpower and body guys that helps them to eliminate people when they disagreed with them not occupy the political space so politics is a dirty game and it is a game of blood if I should give my own definition of politics

Politics are quite different from each other and it also depends on the countries that are involved. Like when we talk about politics in Africa we may relate it to the politics in other nations but they are not the same. There are some countries in Africa that politicians there can do anything just to get the seat that they want without the government coming to intervene or scrutinize the politicians involved.
Politics always involve bloodshed whether directly or indirectly but it is certain that politicians are blood sucking desperate people that can do anything just to get to where they want to be.

Politics has been taken as a get rich quick job for politicians in my country, this is the reason why politicians fight for power during elections and go extra miles to rig elections in order for them to be in power. Democracy is dead down here,because the politicians don't give the people their fundamental human right,which is the right to elect their leaders.

What politicians does is that they buy the Independent Electoral Commission chairman over,for him to announce their names as the winner of the election and make promises to him that in favour their request. After results are announced, the INEC chairman will flee away from the country to somewhere that he will not be seen and spend the evil money which he got from selling the peoples vote.
Leaving the citizens in the hands of corrupt leaders who will not care but inflates more suffering on the citizens.

Whatever your definition of politics is, it all border around interest and volumes in the society, and the political class are in total control of the collective resource of the nation and this can be seen in the manner in which they authoritatively allocate power and resource in the society.

Just as Aristotle defines man as a political animal so much more is the behaviour of the political actors, a man by nature is interest-driven and at that the allocation of the scarce commodity.

No matter how bad politics might be, it would continue to exist in some form within our societies. It doesn't necessarily have to be a party thing or within a democratic system of governance, a one man with a selfish ambition is enough to bring about some self centred ideas in a public office.

I say politics is a game between two parties faking their real characters among themselves and also to society just for deceit while doing an internal dirty game with their cartels for some selfish interest. They give to society, and when you think you are really benefiting from it, they use indirect means to take back what they gave. If you cannot win them, you join them, or you get k**l in some cases.

Do you not think though that there has to be some sort of order, somebody has to be in
place to govern, to put order on the potential chaos. My country has almost 5,000,000
in population, its not all going to work out without rules or some sort of structure.

Its just a pity some politicians forget that they are in place to serve the people and turn

Apparently rules are needed to keep things in check but when the custodians of the said rules starts feeling untouchable and "above the law" then we have issues; this has been the fate of most African countries, once people are elected into positions of authority, they sometimes forget the reasons as to why they were elected in the first place. Personally, i feel our countries would be better if our leaders stand firm by their oath of office.

Most people get intoxicated by power when they are given the opportunity to serve. Funds kept for public purpose becomes stolen and kept for personal use. These insane practices by corrupt leaders leads to under development, suffering death of the masses but yet, they don't see it.

The reason why people follow politicians is, they aren't smart enough to think up results for themselves. The other reason is that they are too stupid to realize that the politicians are slick talkers, who only want to advance their own careers.

Sure, some politicians may start out as good people, but they wind up becoming corrupt just to get into leadership positions.

People who follow politicians knows they are not doing right things by supporting this wicked politicians but what they care about that and are after is the small token they will receive by the end of the days. Some people are just too weak and can be moved by just little money from this politicians.  This politicians uses money to lock up the mind of their fellow,  I think the problem we are facing is not only from politicians.  If common citizens can be discipline and not to allow the money giving to them by this politicians I think the world will be a better place.  The bas politicians are powerful because they have people who they can buy to get their support.

The word politics liik very simple to pronounce but very difficult to understand because it is very complex and have different meaning.
I will define my own politics as a battle of money between two people looking to be in power or to be in leadership position because you can never be poor and be a politician as I assure you that you will not attention from your community people.

If Mahwo Shetty said politics is war without blood shed, then I'd say it was then, check it now in some countries people do die when it comes to political games. If a party has a stronger candidate and he/she is likely to win and the opposition party can't stop that from happening then the next option is to eliminate that candidate.
All these happen, and innocent people do lose their lives all in the name of "I MUST win" so you can't say politics is a war without bloodshed, I disagree with that.
Politicians would go to any length to make sure they achieve their goals.

Most especially in African countries where Election and politicking is a battle of do or die where the politicians are ready to do whatever it takes just to win the election and this has resulted in thought and violent intimidation of perceived enemies and oppositions.

I had an ugly experience in one of the elections in Nigeria during my undergraduate program back around 2015, General election day when armed thugs invaded the pulling unit I cast votes to shoot uncontrollably and kkilledinnocent first-time voter who came out to excise his franchise for the first time.

This experience made me conclude that Politics in Africa is a dirty game and any politicians who are ready to go dirty will go for political positions.

In those countries where politics have become a game and not the rights of its citizen, sure there will be a lot of cartels going on and in or organizations that want to take advantage of their political power and gain their interest when they've been sat into power in the public posts.
It's sad to see that politics in some countries have become like this and those powerful authorities are not likely to get out of that position and they make laws that will preserve their positions because they think that it's only for them. There's no democracy in some parts of the world in terms of politics and thus, it's said to be a dirty thing.

In Nat geo wild, you will see animals in bloody fights just to retain or take over territories, to be at the top of the food chain or simply to mate alone with the females, without any regards for the others. Humans also have this characteristics, to be lords over others. It doesn't matter if the others are hurt or not benefiting from their leadership.

But it takes a refined mind to do what is right and just.

I think is somehow depends on the country you are coming from, I don't think if the western country's see it that way. It's only in Nigeria you could witness such bloody game and dirty games, from onset I am one major person that doesn't like putting interest in politics because with the country where I am coming from they made us dislike anything about politics because is only ruled and controlled by caliber's of men with same cartel which is not encouraging. Then at my teenage we were taught to be the leads of tomorrow, till date i haven't seen any young man ruling or leading in my country and you still the want the youth to believe in Government?

I agree,politics is a wide subject.I have never found any interest in it as I believe much more in my skills rather than relying on going after governments politics and hoping for something in return.There are a lot of people though that love politics and they are avid followers and supporters of a party for example and they are used to such life,they only have jobs when this such party wins the elections and as soon as their party loses the elections after some years for example they are left again in the road in the middle of nowhere.

Politics is supposed to be a public work such that whenever you are opportune to serve, you serve the people very well and at the end of your tenure you live and go back to your main job or occupation, but some people these days do not leave the corridors of polities. If they win, they will continue, and when they lose, they will realign with other political groups to continue the headshi of the government.

My country's politics is not as sane as it's supposed to be. That is why I am not involved, but if people that can change the system are not involved, then always the criminals will find a way to hold the system to ransom. And whatever decisions they make, will indirectly affect your environment, your business and your personal well-being. That is the great disadvantage of isolating yourself from politics.

Politce has actually becomes thing of games by people, but today, we can see how political system corrupted and politics has actually turned into something else. Both the masses and the politicians are using the corrupted means, and this keep spreading all over and increasing. Especially when some of the masses were bribe they feel it an opportunity for then, they embrace what ever given and encourage others of their benefits as it is normal is politic according to them. But the whole people later suffer the whole thing later.
