Making new messages more obvious (SMF patch)

I think this is a pretty good idea, even if I am so a costumed missing new PM that now I check the bar whenever I refresh a page.
I usually post from mobile and with many tabs open, so I have the same problem that @LoyceV noticed: I keep being notified on “old” tabs of PM I already read.

I was looking for something similar and found this topic. I often don't notice PM's when I get it and I'm not getting that many PM's that I would check it often. So, often I notice that I got PM only next day.
Dot is a bit more noticeable than just [1], but I would really appreaciate something what would be a bit more eye-catching and on the same time not too much annoying. Something like dot in different colour.

You can always turn on email notifications.
So, whenever someone sends you a private message, you'll receive an email notifying you that you've received a message.

Since I use the "Watchlist" option a lot, I always end up noticing that I have some messages without reading them.

Great patch again PowerGlove. I rarely get pms so the few times I do it is easy to miss them. Someone who gets lots of pms will instinctively check it after some time, I could go days without noticing, A fix like this will help me out and especially those who receive a lot of messages too.

I have email notifications enabled, but it's nt solution for me. I'm not checking my email that often, maybe once in day or two.
Anyway, going to try this patch, we'll see how much better things will look.

Not many updates this week, but I had an idea coming from Powerglove.

I implemented a new symbol to make incoming PM a little bit more obvious to spot!
