Are lotteries really a good way to engage with gamblers?

Hi everyone.
Maybe some of you have noticed that we are quite active on the forum, trying our best to offer bitcointalk gamblers interesting promotions.
We at MegaPari got used to a format of a lottery - we ask players to fulfill certain requirements and collect their IDs in order to pick winners for rewards.
First they were some bonus offerings, now we are also giving away "physical prizes" - a luxurious vacation or even a Lamborghini crossover. (details in our ANN thread, btw).
But here what concerns me - I think we need to move to a more engaging way of communicating with the audience while  running such campaigns.

Would you guys mind sharing you vision on the following:
-Do you personally take part in lotteries by online casinos?
-Do you track the progress and results of such campaigns?
-If so, are there any changes you would offer to make lotteries more exciting?

sometimes i take part in online lotteries but usually i participate in physical lotteries more often. it is just a hobby of mine to take part whenever i have free tickets in the lotteries

not that much, not unless i personally bet my money like in physical lotteries (ours are just way too cheap so anyone can participate)

i think adding more cool stuffs like consolation prizes and other things like free tickets can be exchanged with something or if you ever purchase tickets you will get points in which you can exchange it into amazing prizes.

If you want me to be honest and give honest reply, I am a type of person that is not moved by bonuses, promotional offers and lotteries or anything free that is related to gambling, but I always think the type of person I am is not common. I remember the last gambling site that I registered, I was given 100% bonus and I did not use it because I forgot. A lot going on in my mind. Kind of weird but it is the truth. This got worse when I have been busying myself with work, unlike before though. But I noticed that there are plenty people that like all these type of things.

I actually not fan of lotteries particularly online casino as I know in my self that my chance on winning from it is very low and I don't want to waste time on something that I know that my chance of winning is low. Though I like the automatic raffle, for example I wager a certain amount and that would automatically get me 1 ticket and I will be automatically participated in the lottery in that way participants would be more interested in playing as first they are playing and at the same time they accumulating tickets whether they win or lose in the game they are playing with. Actually that strategy alone is exciting, you just need to inform the players so they are aware that there's such thing like that.

Maybe you can switch to more interesting ways to communicate with your members and attract more people to your casino. But other casinos might not follow your advice because they have their own strategy.

I rarely participate in online casinos' lotteries and only enter when I feel like it. And if I entered that lottery, I would be less actively tracking it and just waiting for the notification from the casino.

Depends on the prize set up by a casino. If they offer huge prizes to their lottery bettor then provably will take a chance to participate since many would try to test their luck if they can win a huge price on lottery.

Tracking the result to see who are the lucky forum user won on said lottery since curiosity will risen up if the identity will be disclosed. Although many want to unpublished there identity for security reason but atleast to see if the winner is legitimate person.

More consolation prizes so that many participants would be happy and would like to participate on next round again.

I only play the lottery on the freebitcoin site where I buy lottery tickets which are drawn every week, but have never bought or tried to play the lottery at other online casinos, but maybe if you see an interesting and big prize like Lambo or a luxury vacation there's nothing wrong with trying your luck for play the lottery.

Sometimes I also often track it on the freebitcoin site to see who won the lottery. because there also provide big prizes like Lambo and other big prizes, but actually I prefer it if the lottery winner announcement is held live so there is no cheating from the casino owner. that's why i never believed in the lottery

I personally wouldn't care to partake in this sort of promotion. 10000 entries 1 winner or whatnot. I know that's not the exact numbers I'm just giving an example. I have not kept up with any lottery type promotion you have done but if they require a user to deposit and that users deposit has a playthrough before they can wd, I'd feel like i'm wasting time depositing when I can play elsewhere and just get rakeback or a daily surprise based on my play the day before.

anyone who knows lottery is aware that their chances of winning are very low. why freebitco has a lot of users until now? it's because they are offering chances to those who cannot afford to buy tickets like giving them weekly tickets or tickets from free spins/faucets. one more thing is that even if someone manages to buy 50% of the tickets, it is only chances since there is a possibility those tickets aren't winning tickets, and since most of it are not free, what will the user expect? of course you will receive bunch of complaints saying "this is rigged" or something along those lines. while giving tickets makes the chances of winning lower than before, bettors can still choose to spend money on other games since you guys are offering so many games as you have promoted initially. just think of the lottery as free perks while players focus on those games in which they can literally play.

I am not actually sure, maybe you should open a poll to know how many people are interested with the lotteries but personally I think the good way to engage with gamblers is through good promotions, actually a lot of promotions to be given to the users as that would keep them playing in the website if they know there's a lot of perks they can receive through promotion and seasonal promotion like Halloween, Christmas or if there's a major league you can have seasonal promotions to those and I think that's what players wanted rather than lottery.

To be frank with you, I personally do not bother about anything lotteries not only that, let me put it straight,  casino  give away packages do not really entice me as I have been designed to work to deriving my rewards and ends meet. Lotteries mostly have a million enteries for just a single bonus or wins then what is the possibility or tendency that one would be able to   scale through to be at the number spot after the lottery final stage of announcing the winner.

You see, when it comes to lottery the above is why I do not bother myself joining the cue so I do not get hurt with the hope of being the winner of the lottery when the results is being announced.

Lastly I do not bother looking into lottery tickets and all of lottery stuffs because the process does not seems clear to me so why bother myself with it when I do not take part in the exercise.

Actually lottery is a good way to engage with the gamblers even in the physical casino a lottery is always there from small rewards to luxurious rewards. Yes, I do track of the campaigns like leaderboards, winners of the lottery, etc. I think if you could have 100 lottery winners per day (no matter how big or small the winning amount) have a huge impact to the players. It's more like a raindrop in some gambling sites.

Make the lottery more transparent. Other casino like Duelbits use a livestream to draw the lucky winner using an random picker app. This way that everything happening is real time to make it transparent to all participants.


I think there’s nothing wrong to the new format of your giveaways. I think having a KYC free promotion will make the user here more engaged since most user preferred to play anonymously which other casino offered for a normal gambler that playing using a small bankroll.

I'd say it depends on what it means to "engage" with your audience, if it was actively communicating with them through tourney-esque events, then yea lotteries can be one, but you shouldn't limit your engagements with only something like lotteries.

To answer the questions, yes I do sometimes whenever my sessions coincide with it or whenever I actually notice they're doing one. I usually just enjoy whatever they give me at the moment, I don't really actively chase it around or something so it's really whatever for me, I play if I can if I don't then that's that.

I guess those are a few samples of consolations you can add, but I'd suppose a lot would prefer withdrawable money instead since most bonuses and/or rewards are pretty much locked to us needing to spend it to the casino itself. Other than those maybe some kind of custom tourney tickets maybe? Might be a bit too complicated by then though.

Some people might find it's an interesting contest, but some people aren't, although they also have a chance if they have at least 1 ticket in their account. If you're offer them a luxurious vacation or a lambo as the prize, you also need to consider to add an option for the winner to get the prize in money, not in vacation or lambo. Well, we could say that lottery is more accessible to players both casual and actual gamblers. One reason is the fact that most of the lotteries are registered under government sector simply because it is taxed, therefore it is allowed to operate to some countries inspite of prohibition with gambling activities. I'd say the drive that a player would feel in lotteries could be a bdrige for them to be more thrilled with other gambling games.
