"Which one" means what? Investing Only on one single coins among those, Won't make you billionaire. Rather that was stupid way to loose your whole $40,000.... Think about it, only btc or eth or bnb can't trun your money from 40000 to 1 billion,  impossible for each of those to pump  hundred times. Rather invest with all of those with fix ratio. All of those are good coins. just make sure, durning investment,  you are giving  priority to btc eth and bnb with more percentage among those altcoins

Probably even if he invest in altcoins he won't be able to turn 40,000$ into a billion dollars, because that is a really unrealistic goal. Besides the fact the risk to take with altcoins is too high. Personally, I would invest 90% of the funds into BTC and 10% into solid altcoins like ETH. It's a conservative strategy, but reliable on long term to prevent losses and achieve consistent gains. However, each investor has their own strategy and goals, so always make your own research to best fulfill your plans.

ALTCOINS are high risk and also high profits. But for long run I would only recommended Bitcoin. Because he is the king. If I were you then I will consider at least own 1 BTC and then invest rest for altcoins. For me ETH, BNB, ARB, DOT are the only alternatives for bitcoin right now. normally, with that amount, we would choose a low risk investment, i would also choose bitcoin for that. However, if it is an altcoin, then the choices are Ethereum and BNB. It's just that, realistically, I might prefer investing in bitcoin with a higher percentage than altcoins. Its funny how you, like so many others, cling to Bitcoin like a heavenly entity that offers protection. $40k is no small sum. Please note that all coins, including Bitcoin, carry risk. History doesnt always favor the cautious.

However, its cruel to those who jump in without understanding. Do you get Bitcoin's technology and implications? Or are you playing it safe because everyone else is?

  For me, Ethereum, Solana, Matic, Shib, and Doge are okay; I'm sure they will rise and join Bitcoin's rally, even approaching the halving for sure that many altcoins or cryptocurrencies will rise in price value in the market.

Well, for such a large amount of money, I would also choose Bitcoin over altcoins. Bitcoin is the cryptocurrency with the least risk. I say that because almost all altcoins are affected by the price of bitcoin. Apart from that, the level of potential for price increases is also very high.
I will probably choose altcoins when I don't have that much investment capital, or maybe under $10k. This is a tough decision especially for an investor. On my side, I answer that if I had $40,000 and was asked to invest that dollar in a currency, I would refrain from investing. Investing in any one currency must involve substantial risk. If I want to invest in a single currency I can't think of anything other than Bitcoin. Investing in anything other than Bitcoin involves 100% risk. But some of the top altcoins can also be invested, but investing $40,000 would be a fool's errand.

Being billionaire is the goal? I think that your option will be mostly going to the memecoins. I think most of the devs there became millionaires but I don't know if some investors have became very wealthy and managed to become a billionaire. With ETH and BTC, they're actually good investments. You won't become billionaire these days with Bitcoin if you're going to use $40k buying it. But if you have asked this a decade ago or more then you are potentially a billionaire by now. Like if you've bought Bitcoin in the past when it's valued at cents but moving on. If I have this kind of amount of money, I will invest more in Bitcoin because it is more safer for us to put money on Bitcoin than many altcoins we have in the market. Bitcoin had been in the market for so long and we may make profits and still stay safe.
Altcoins are also good for investment when we know the right coin to put our funds. It is good for us to ask questions when we are investing in the Crypto market because this would aid more profits for us.

There is only one project that we can compare with Bitcoin in terms of consistent performance and that is ETH. It has large community, big market cap, active dev community that is upgrading the project constantly and it's the only project that was able to hold it's position till now. It is the safest altcoin out there after Bitcoin. If you ask me about another project beside eth then link is my 2nd best. Had it been that you didn't exclude BTC and ETH I would say both are a perfect match for this investment proposal. But due to what you said apart from them I think solana, Ada, Shiba Inu and Dogecoin if BNB was listed I would also list it as another investment priority.
