Hi,

I’m looking to invest 10k, I’m trying to decide if to go with XRP or ADA.

In terms of holding I can do it for 1-3 years no real time limit. Not sure what returns I might get short term vs long term. ADA for example i might get 3 to 4 x return, however with XRP that might be a lot more should they win the court case.

My slight worry is what happens if XRP lose.

If you are personally interested in XRP go for it. A court case will always be in a manner that it helps both parties, so it is upto you to decide, dont be biased about it.

While the best option here would be to buy bitcoin with that money, I believe you have made up your mind not to, otherwise you would not be making this question here. So beyond bitcoin, ETH would be the next best option to buy and then LTC and DOGE for long term.

Why not divide the money into three parts and see how much each gives you in return, if you are willing to take the risk? Again not financial advice here, you could do something else, but perform this on paper as dummy trading.

Just diversify if you aren't decided

Maybe 40% ADA, 30% XRP and 30% for another asset… maybe Doge. This will reduce the risk of you losing out in case something bad happened to XRP. ADA really preformed so well in the last Bull run and I believe it will continue to get a new all-time high in the next one.

As for XRP, there was no new all-time high from the one of 2018

Honest opinion about XRP. Not that much movement since the 2017 bull market. It has reached $3 but then it had never been back there again. But then, we don't know what's with the future of XRP, especially with the SEC case whether it will be clear or not but to have that optimistic thought about them that it should be cleared and clean, then I think that it will create that perfect moment that shall boost the price of it which is as usual in the market when good news comes to a certain project. But the main factor that will be affected is the bull run that we will see and I don't know if it's going to add and contribute to the price of XRP because that's what we've seen for the past years.

Why not do both?

I mean ADA and XRP can give you more than x4 return when the bull market starts, but on the flipside, it might not give you that return in the bull run. I mean anything can happen. If you're only focusing on that 2 coins, just go 50-50 on it. I'm holding ADA personally, but I'm thinking of selling already, and buy Ethereum on it. As for XRP, it didn't come to my mind to hold some of that coins for the long run for some unknown reason.

Long term, I think you have a higher chance that you can get x4 returns because it already happened in the past. You are worrying if XRP loses? I guess the community behind Ripple is huge to the point that it will not go down that hard if something bad happens to them. As for ADA, their slow upgrades, and lots of hype is the problem with them, but whenever they release an upgrade to their project, there are little to no bugs or whatever glitches on it.

Maybe try on adding some Bitcoin. ADA, XRP, and BTC.

We don't know the returns you get now when you start investing in Altcoin XRP and you for 1-3 full years to be honest it's not easy to predict and I think it's hard to find accurate pricing as a calculation of three years profit in those two altcoins, I think if they have a staking service on these two coins maybe I would advise you more if you think that for long term investments so that your coins get more returns apart from selling coins you get paid for the staking you do.
So far, XRP is clearer in determining victory in this case, but I don't really understand why this is taking so long and it continues to take quite a long time, but if XRP wins, you will probably win more than the price you will get on XRP.

XRP had not hit its ATH since 2017 but ADA did. but they are both just crazy tokens that will also be dumped to its knees every bear market so holding it up to 3 years will not be the best way of doing it. you wanna sell it while the price is high. you do not wait for the price to dip after 3 months after BTC hits ATH again. most probably altcoins are the first to be dumped.

I would not invest all in one project. Although if I had to choose between ADA or XRP, I would choose ADA. Ripple has performed very poorly in the last bull market. And it seems to me that the sec lawsuit has nothing to do with it. XRP has a huge issue, and there is no telling how many coins the developers are selling on the market to those willing to buy. Most likely because of the large sales the price couldn't hit the last ATH. To me that says a lot.

Why don't you ride the trend instead of making a quick decision?

10k is quite huge enough if you just want to invest it on the altcoins. Try putting some at Bitcoin you will be surprised if it hits the bull run and I find it more riskier to invest in altcoins than Bitcoin but it also depends though if you know what you are doing. Try their suggestions as diversifying your investment so that you won't all in just one go. At least put some in the other basket 'cause it's either a loss or a win depending on how you will gonna play with your investment.

When you had 10k dollars to invest,it’s not right a option to choose one coin.Because you can split up the 10k dollars to 10 parts and invest 1k dollars on ten different altcoins.Some of the trusted altcoin are ADA,XRP,TRX,BNB,WRX are the coins in my trust list.In this XRP are trusted coin for the long run,most of the people holding in XRP for their future.Because it had good number of investors,So the price of XRP will increase in some day.If you want the short term profits,you have to inverse in ADA,BNB,AVAX.In short term profit,you have to target with ten percent of profit.Then withdraw the profit and reinvest the money and earn again profit.This trade will give you a good profit by repeating many times.

XRP is full with uncertainties. I guess that if you can put your money in better coins compared with XRP. There are so many L1 and L2 coins in the market. Why don't you try to consider these kinds of coins? These coins will be mooning if bitcoin will be going even higher.

ADA looks like a shit now. I got almost 6x from investing in ronin coins when it was dumping so hard during the bearish trend Q1 of this year.

You were just making yourself become very complicated. There are a bunch of trusted coins in the market and you were picking complicated coins with low chance for mooning.

Bitcoin is pumped right now. Think again with your choice. You can do better rather than investing your money in a coin with so many problems like XRP.

10k is quite good amount to invest so Op make sure you choose the best coin for you I am not saying that you need to buy a specific coin but what I'm saying is that you need to be careful because nowadays there are some scam coins so in order to be safe you need to make a research first what coin you want to invest if that's gonna be a useful coin or a scam coin that you will cry and loss someday. So think before you click .

I have kinda shaded away from BTC, only because I’m kinda thinking if I invest in some ALT coins then ultimately (trusted ones) then the gains will be greater than BitCoin.

I do like some of the layer 2 coins, I bought OP back in oct 22 when it was like 0.68 (invested 1500) left it till it doubled.

Not looking at doing the same with 10k on OP or ARB.

10K is not a small amount to risk losing, no one knows what could happen in the XRP case if they lose it means you lose your money.

So my advice would be better to invest in ADA coin that is reliable and has a great future. Although my first advice is not to risk all your money in one coin.

if it's for long term if it were me that got the $10k for investment i'd definitely refrain from investing in any of them, it's just not worth it since most altcoins known to be losing its glory after the cycle of bullruns ended.
added with the fact that currently ada is rather stagnant I doubt it could ever regain its all time high since all the money are moving to the second layer solution like arbitrum and optimism anyway.
I'd say just put huge share of them in either bitcoin and ethereum which guarantees that it will increase in value and hardly losing its trading volume and then put some of the money into newer coin that hasn't reached its peak, that way you will get the most of both investments, but if you could always be more flexible with the conditions of your investments, i guess investing in the coin you mentioned could be good enough.

but personally I prefer the coin to have cardano, because I see that the price for cardano can still be said that there has not been a big increase so now is the right time to buy there cardano.

It's like a gamble and I can see you are very interested in xrp, remember that long term investment is not always profitable. it's better to share 3 or 4 crypto much more comfortable than putting your money in just one coin.

It's a pretty long time so I reckon you can diversify both. If you can add more, try Bitcoin especially if you consider the current time frame. XRP is down pretty badly compared to 3 years ago and is down by around 30% compared to last year, but looking at it from another angle, it's also a buy period since it isn't at it's peak.  Idk about ADA though, but as I said, since its 3 years you can diversify.

Just, try to hold on to your sched, especially if it seems like you're losing out. It's already lost money in those cases anw, might as well continue (And I hope said 10k is an amount you're okay with losing out in the worst case scenario)

If I do that, then most likely the amount of $10,000 may end up being $20,000 or $17,000 and nothing more than that. This is at the best time and you may incur losses.
Why did you choose these currencies in particular, meaning that there are a lot of alternative options that look better.
In general, in the coming period, it is better to invest more than 15% of your investments in alternative currencies, and the rest in Bitcoin and stable coins.

XRP long-term strategy is to be a stable with low fees and daily use, and therefore it is not a long-term investment.
