ETH vs BTC future growth potential

I hear a lot of voices saying that BTC's price will go through the roof when the monetary system goes down.
I've heard predictions of BTC going 4x in 2024. Others say 33x in years to come.

Is there any estimated guess on how high Ethereum can go?
While the growth of BTC depends on the loss of confidence in regular currencies (dollar, euro..) it seems that the growth of ETH is not dependent on this.
I often hear people talk about BTC value explosion, while it seems that growth of ETH price is more gradual and linear. So basically a lower expected return on investment.

Also, after BTC surviving for more than 10 years and not even the Chinese government being able to stop it, I am quite confident it can not be stopped.
But can ETH somehow be stopped? Confiscated or devalued when exchanges are attacked

The investment I can afford right now is 1 BTC and 1 ETH.
I barely have fixed costs for the next 2 years so I can slowly stack up.
But I don't know if the same amount is better invested in let's say 0.5 BTC and 5 ETH. That will depend on growth potential and safety
Also if the government somehow finds a way to attack BTC, owning 5 ETH can compensate for the other investment that didn't work out.
I would like to diversify, but don't find many suited options to diversify in.

I wouldn't listen to anyone in here.  People are either bitcoin or eth people and will pitch you their bags.  If you believe in both of them hedge your bet and buy 50% down the middle, and slowly cost average your way up on both of them.  It limits your downside risk if one of them goes down and removes the opportunity risk if you pick the wrong one that moves better in the future.  Good luck you are on the right path

Both are potential coin for long term with huge marketcap. but if I were you then I would buy 4 ether & 0.4 btc with some others potential altcoins  with rest money. Cause if you analysis the chart of ath, then You'll sell altcoins can multiple your fund faster than btc, although risk is also multiply high than btc also

I recommend both, not either. This is a really tough choice. Maybe in a while ETH has a better rise than BTC but I also see my friends gain more by investing in BTC than ETH. So I think if you have $1,000 you can split it into $600 on BTC and $400 on ETH.

Perhaps, it was noted already that Bitcoin and ETH have shown impressive market growth when it was finally launched in the market. In fact, only a few numbers of individual who trust this project, how much more this time as the number of investors and adopters keep increasing. It was pretty obvious that these coins will grow more or if may not, we have some assurance that it never die instantly unlike to what happen with shitcoins.
Well, I say to OP that he should have his own stance why choosing them, not just because it was recommended by someone but it should be on what he thinks is right.

I don't think so, I mean when bitcoin goes down or crashes, ETH will follow BTC. There will be no ETH price increase while BTC plunges, the crypto market is still completely dependent on bitcoin. Diversification should be applied to other non-crypto assets such as your investments in gold, real estate, and cryptocurrencies.

If you like safety then bitcoin is the way to go, but the returns couldn't be better for altcoins. If you want to risk more for better returns, then ETH is the right choice as it is quite safe and offers better returns than BTC.

@OP, if you can afford to buy those now. I tell you to just do it because we'll never know how high bitcoin and Ethereum can go.
Bitcoin could go up back more than the last price of it during the peak of its bull run and also the same goes for Ethereum. If you can afford to have 1 BTC and 1 ETH, you're blessed enough that you've got enough capital for buying that and don't wait any longer because price might be more expensive later.

I don't know but I don't think it will continue to be like that but regardless Bitcoin and Ethereum are the top two coins and there's no doubt about it,
for long term investment it is also the right choice and will be profitable.

In my opinion, ETH and BTC are kings in their own right in the crypto world, but if you ask about which one has more potential in the future, I think Bitcoin is still more dominant, because it is undeniable that market movements are very much dominated by bitcoin, and altcoin prices always follow bitcoin price movements.

Theoretically, yes, altcoin's prices are somehow pegged to bitcoin especially when the bitcoin (as the mother of all altcoins) goes down but for some reasons, there are some times that even if bitcoin hikes towards North, the altcoins aren't going to follow the trend due to some reasons like investors are still in a doubt, etc. Some are even saying that in the long run, bitcoin are more profitable compared to the top performing altcoins in the past 3 years because while the bitcoin is continuously working towards the top, altcoins may not perform the same and it will take time before they can set another ATH.

The future potential of ETH depends on bitcoin. That doesn't change. After the recent Shanghai upgrade, I am quite surprised that the number of withdrawals from staking is very low, I think the cycle that bitcoin is building, is creating momentum for ETH to be trusted to continue Hodl. . With that in mind, I think the potential of ETH to grow and achieve a new ATH is similar to bitcoin.

I may be wrong, but I think that an important factor preventing people from buying BTC (aside from volatility) is the fact that 1 entire unit of it (1 coin currently being above 25k) is already far out of their price range. So they think "it is not for me". Imagine that instead of buying bitcoin, people spoke about buying Satoshis. Then all of a sudden it seems way more doable to the middle class. More money could flow in.

It is psychology but I think it matters a lot. It feels better to own 4000 of something, than 0.4.

no one can predict the price or increase that will occur in bitcoin and ethereum in the future. and in my opinion there is no comparison between bitcoin and ethereum because they both move on different chains. and bitcoin is still the owner of the trust of all crypto users. and I'm sure bitcoin will continue to increase in the future and will be followed by ethereum and altcoins.

There's only 1 king in the crypto and it's name bitcoin. Ethereum is just altcoin who will always be following where bitcoin will be going on. It looks so stupid to call that if eth was also king in crypto caused by the price jump that happened in ethereum won't affect the price from the altcoins.

Bitcoin is the only king and ethereum is not. Ethereum future growth actually depends on the bitcoin as well. Eth reached ath if the only btc will have done it first.
